I really hope the Cavs take Derrick Williams just to cause chaos in the whole draft. It would force David Kahn to trade the pick (when he is asking for way too much in return), take Kyrie Irving (meaning he would have three first round point guards on his roster that he drafted), or take someone who shouldn't go second overall (Kanter most likely).
Got to love David Kahn.

if I wasn't a Cavs fan, then that would be something to hope for. but, i hope the Cavs draft Irving because I think he's the best guy in this draft also, don't forget that of the 3 PGs Kahn drafted in the 1st round in '09, the best one very well could be the one that plays for the Nuggets (Lawson)

Plus, don't we have Miami's 1 next year?
You're allowed to trade out as long as you have 1 1 in two years. Doesn't have to be yours.
I believe its two picks in non-consecutive years between 2013 and 2017, plus the right to swap 1st round picks with Miami in 2012.
I misunderstood a fundamental point of the Stepien rule...it only applies to trading future picks; past trades are irrelevant. Disregard what I said in the last thread.

Haha ... maybe we should take Williams, just to force their hand and make them swap the #2 for the #4.
Then again, this is Kahn ... he is to point guards what Matt Millen is to WRs.

Checked there. I guess my service provider isn't approved by ESPN.
Thanks, though.

Well the wolves take DW ... no trades as of yet. Will be interesting to see if he stays there. That leaves Kanter on the board though ... however I get a feeling his stock has dropped a bit.

Why do they always show the war room of the team that's drafting the player?? They already KNOW who they're picking! They'll just give a little smile and a golf clap. I want to see the war room of the team picking afterwards, to see if they are cheering or face-desking.

I can actually deal with it if we pick Jonas. I think he might have more upside tham Kanter ...... but Kanter is far more NBA ready now.

Who else are we supposed to take? A tweener point guard, or an undersized forward?
.... OR TRISTAN FREAKING THOMPSON...

Yeah ... I don't get that. I had read somewhere that the Cavs were big "sabermetric" guys, and even John Hollinger had this guy projecting as very under-rated, and possibly the 3rd best player in the draft.
But he's a ... well, another Hickson. I'm guessing the Jonas-talk was a smoke screen and they really wanted Enes. After that, it was up in the air. Now we have a bit of a glut at PG and PF, with some big gapping holes at the other positions.

Now to wait for pick #9 with Charlotte. They wanted Thompson but it sounded like Detroit was going to take him. We might have a trade or see them take Valanciunas at that spot if that is the plan.

Great .. and Jonas goes to Toronto ... so if there *was* a trade scenerio to get him, it probably just blew up ... unless they're looking to trade back further for a guy like Klay.
