Who here has an Android phone?

I currenty own a My touch 3G with tmobile....excellent phone..but it's old now and not that fast...I just bought a SENSATION 4G(except the name i love the phone lol) i still have not gotten it...hopefully it will be here tomorrow!

Just wondering what everyone is using and if anyone else has a sensation and what they think of it? I heard on some reviews that some of them had bad data connection and it worked only sometimes...but 99% of the reviewes said otherwise...

I've got a HTC EVO 4G. I loved the phone so much after I bought it that I started a thread on it. Nothing has changed my opinion on it. Best phone I've ever owned.

I won't be changing for awhile.

I too have the EVO 4G my 3rd Android phone. By far the best phone I have owned. Better than my Motorola Droid I had.

I might switch to a EVO shift when our contract is up for renewal next month, but I need to get my hands on one. Definitely liking the HTC phones though. Wife has the Samsung Moment, and I don't like it, I will definitely get her switched to the Shift.

I recently picked up the Samsung Infuse (AT&T). Very cool phone. They have been tripping over themselves to get me to upgrade for the last 4 years (and I loved having them over the barrel with no contract), but my phone wasn't doing what I needed so I finally upgraded.

Only had it about 3 weeks now, but the screen is ULTRA sharp and the Android OS is pretty damn quick for anything I've put it through. So far I'm very satisfied.

I have a HTC Hero. It's over a year old now, but I'm still good with it. The only thing I don't like is my weather maps don't animate on it.

I have this phone too. I like it a lot, but once in a while it seems like people have a hard time hearing me. I've seen quite a few people say that in their reviews also.

I just got a Net10 prepaid.

I cna cut my bill to $15 per month .. which is much lower than my bill had been. Since I haven't been able to work, my cell gets used very little.

Maybe they just don't want to talk to you and are using it as an excuse to get off the phone.

I have a htc thunderbolt and love it.

I was just issued a Palm Pre 2 a couple of weeks ago. I was happy to dump my old Windows-based phone, but was unsure about the Palm. After a couple of weeks, I have to say, I've come to REALLY like WebOS. It's fast, easy to use and I was pleasantly surprised at the number of quality apps that are available for it. It syncs up nicely with company Exchange servers so that my e-mail, schedule and contacts are always up-to-date. All this in a nice, small phone that fits comfortably in my pocket. No Android/Apple "brick" for me.

I haven't had that problem, but I have noticed that at least where I live Sprint's service can be sketching even if your standing still. Just out of the blue I can watch my phone go from 4-5 bars to 0-1.

I have the AiRave in my house since service inside my house was non-existent. The HR woman here talked to our phone rep explained the situation and that I was the IT guy and needed to be accessible, and they provided the AiRave for free and no monthly costs. Advantage of being on a corporate account I'm sure. But it's given me full signal at all times in my house now.

iPhone 4..... got it free through work. Only real complaints are lack of flash and battery life. Otherwise, very easy to do many things on. The GPS on it is stellar.

Love my Droid Incredible 2. Had it for about a month now, don't know why I put up with a non-smart phone for so long. My work phone is a BlackBerry, which I also like...just not as much as my Droid.

Both my husband and my daughter keep swiping my phone to play games. Guess I know what kind of phone I'll be buying for my husband next (but he's not due for an upgrade for a while).

That's the same phone I use. I have no issues with it personally. Though I have it rooted and running 2.2 instead of the 1.5/1.6 that it had on it when I bought it used.

I'm really wanting an HTC Thunderbolt, but with Verizon dumping their unlimited data packages, I'm not so sure I want to stay with them.

Nope

Although, the new pricing supposedly doesn't take effect until July 9th, so I *may* be able to still get grandfathered if I jump on it before then.

I still do, but I was grandfathered in on AT&T. I assume that at some point in time they will take away my unlimited plan as well.

Truth is I don't use much of my unlimited bandwidth. My phone is set to pick up wireless in the places I spend the majority of my time, Work, Home and Church, so I am usually on wifi and not using the towers for data.

I have unlimited text and data with Sprint.

+1

I'm actually happy with the battery life. It's not great, but very decent. As much as I use my phone, it holds up.

Missing flash doesn't really bother me. I spend most of my time sending text messages, taking pictures/videos, and using apps.

Anyone have or know someone that has the Casio Gzone Commando Droid phone? I'm eligible for an upgrade on 7/11 and was thinking about getting it. It's made to be dropped, wet, dirty, etc and that would be nice to have for my work. It's ratings are over 4 stars on Verizon's site.

If 99% of the reviews say it's fine than most likely it is, there's always someone that's unhappy.

Personally, I want the HTC EVO 3D, unfortunately I have to wait another year for my big discount.

I have a dumb phone.

When I went to get it a few years back I told the kid behind the counter I didn't want to search for metal objects buried even a inch deep in the ground, check for radiation, or play games.

I would take one if it allowed me to see through peoples clothes since that was a childhood fantasy I still can't totally shake.

I ended up with one with a camera....they didn't sell any that didn't come with a camera.

My old phone had a bad battery - wouldn't hold a charge for even a day. Went to buy a battery - and found out I could get a new phone for less than the battery. So I got a new phone. 3 years ago I believe it was.

It's a Samsung - no idea what model - but even if I knew what it was, it's so old no one else would know what it was.

Here's the deal with my phone: I can make calls, and I can receive calls. That's what I want from a phone - nothing more, nothing less.

I have a Samsung Galaxy that I am happy with.

I have been seeing these commercials of these phones that can be used as a hotspot. Does this mean I can do away with my home internet service, and use the phone to connect my desktop, and my laptop to the internet?

Arch. With the fact you own your own business have you even seen what use a smartphone could be for you. I don't own my own business and a smartphone is extremely useful for me. I would think for you it could be very useful

Yes and no. Yes you can connect your desktop through it, but the connection will be slower than your current ISP and you'll most likely have a data limit. For example, Verizon will be charging $30/month for 2GB of data via the hotspot function.

I am sure if I was younger I would be all over a different phone.

The fact of the matter is it is too darn hard for me to see the screen and way too small to see all the buttons.

In the end, like Arch, all I really care about is being able to make a phone call if needed.

I guess another part of it is era.

I may have been in my mid 30's, before I carried a phone. Maxwell Smart may have had a shoe phone back in the 60's, but most people then didn't carry them until the early 80's or so.

I would venture to say a good many of the people on the board have been carrying them all of their life....or say 13 or so when mom and dad got one for you so you could ignore their calls.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Unless your phone is terribly inefficient, it should be much faster internet. 4G has sick speeds that are WAY better than what I get via my cable modem.
Now, it wouldn't be suitable for gaming as the latencies would definitely be worse, but surfing & email would be fine.

As for limits.... you can root your phone and enable the tethering/hotspot functionality on your own.

I guess I'm not using my phone enough or correctly?

I was grandfathered with the unlimited plan from AT&T and I've never come close to using 2gb's of data for any month I've had my phone.

same here...i have tmobile unlimited data plan....and the most i've used is maybe 1200MB in a month...but that's probably because i don't stream movies/videos much...

If you use an app like pandora for a week i'm sure it will rack up some MBs or even Gs...
