Well to be fair, Shaun Rogers did that and returned it for a touchdown in real life once, I was watching the game live when it happened and my jaw was hanging. And don't forget that ridiculous run by Marshawn Lynch not long ago.
These video game moments happen in real life on occasion. I'm not a college football fan so I really can't speak for the NCAA franchise, but at least in Madden they are relatively rare. I'd give the game more of a chance than just that game.
Oh, and again more familiar with Madden than NCAA, but at least in Madden how your QB throws the ball depends on how hard or soft you press the button. I imagine both games have this feature.

How so? Haven't looked too much at them.

I understand ... I just have become so upset with NCAA game and had hopes that they fixed this. Maybe it's my style of play - maybe I'm just unlucky. I get so sick of the worst thing happening when it can in these games.
Even something as simple as throwing a "stick" where a d-end jumps up and picks it off. I have thrown more interceptions with this game to dlinemen then backers and backs combined.
Is the actual passing slower though? I tried out the demo and as I was stepping up into the pocket to throw I got sacked 2 or 3 times mid pass when I felt like the ball should have already been released.

The demo wasn't nearly as good as the actual game, but the passing is a little slower overall. I do like that now you can't have your back turned to the receivers, hit a button, and your quarterback spins around and launches a bomb. That doesn't happen anymore. It takes a second for your quarterback to turn around and set himself, and the pass still usually ends up underthrown a little or off by some.

They lowered the ranking for people, especially recruits, so no way is Miller an 80 overall.

Not nitpicking at all. I don't know OSU's roster inside and out. I do most of their starters, and a few of the backups. and I don't see an issue with most of those. I do see an issue with Miller seeing as how the ratings for for most players, especially recruits, has been lowered the last few years and a lot of 5* recruits are being rated in the mid 70's. Miller was a 4* recruit to most places and should not be an 80.

I'm slowly losing my faith in the gameplay... Wide open WRs, i bullet pass to them, not leading in any direction... The ball goes directly to a Safety on the other side of the field... Add to that the fact that I just lost to Notre Dame in OT because we missed an EXTRA POINT... and as Offensive Cordinator... I don't get to kick them...
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

For people who want them.
They have released rosters with edits and names. These guys make the best rosters every year for PS3 an even edit looks, correct depth chart issue, class, and tweak a few ratings, but they do it fairly.
They put their rosters up last night at: GatorNuts0208

Well, I use them every year because they are very accurate and are usually out relatively quickly. There are a few mistakes, but with 120 teams and 8,000 players there are bound to be.
There are a few better rosters, but they usually take forever to come out, and I honestly don't see much difference in them.

Yeah, They are solid, especially in the time frame they are released, luvstotha9s however are by far the best once they are finished, his take a little longer though because of the attention to detail provided. They probably will not be out for another week or 2.

Do you guys get the rosters to play exhibition games or to play during a Build-A-Pro/dynasty?
After one season of a dynasty mode, most of the names have left for the NFL and you're left with mostly new randomly named guys on the game.

I guess it depends how much you know about college football and recruits.
I recognize guys through 4 years of my dynasty, and then when I get my recruits for the team I am using, I rename them to match current high school players who have given verbals.
After that the though the names are fake yes, but still better than having no names.

In the NCAA 10 game, there was an option to name the nameless players in the first season of the dynasty. They were all wrong names of course, but there was the option of naming the players. Since I barely know most guys as the NCAA season starts and that I went on to play 17 years of dynasty mode, having the real names wasn't important to me....though I understand why someone would want them on their system.

I just like having the real players. The incoming class fo recruits that signed in Febuary, if redshirted, will be on the team for 5 seasons. Obviously there will be a lot of "fake" players that are recruited, but it is cool to me to have the real players because I know them, and then I know the players that I actually recruit as well, whether they are real or not.
It isn't a huge issue, just nice to see "Denard Robinson" rather than "Jack Stewart" when you are in a dynasty, especially since I know who it really is if the names are wrong.
It also is nice if you export the draft classes for Madden.

Good point.
I was damn close to pulling the trigger on this, Mortal Kombat, and a 3rd game at Best Buy this past weekend but I couldn't decide on the 3rd game. Duke Nukem looks ok and the demo was fine, but I just didn't feel amazed after playing it.
Plus, while the BB deal was awesome, Amazon was undercutting the price for everything BB had.
BB - $52 for MK (tax extra) Amazon - $40 (free shipping no tax)
With that being said, I still haven't pulled the trigger on MK. It's super fun and terribly addicting but I don't know how long I'd play it.

I did NCAA on Amazon, got it for $60 with release day shipping, plus a $20 credit to my Amazon account, which I will use to get Madden, which is also offering $20 credit, so I will basically be getting games for $40 for a little while. Nice, especially since there are a ton of games this fall that I want.

Exactly, I could never play like this. I know after the real guys are gone they all become fake but the time spent recruiting them makes it feel more as if they are real.
Importing the draft classes to Madden is great. I will sim the first season a lot of times because I love the offseason and doing the draft on Madden. I only wish they would have the online franchise mirror the offline franchise like NCAA does with its Dynasty mode.

Yeah, before they started doing the roster share online, my brother and i would name our individual team at least before we played. I lot of times we would simply simulate enough seasons to recruit all named players though, so while they are randomly named, they aren't suppose to be real people either.

Yeah, before the roster shar I would mail my memory card out to this guy who would name the rosters and transfer to your memory card and mail it back to you. Before that I would just name my team and most of the top 25 and my conference.

J/C
I started a offline dynatsy last week to test the coaching carousel a little more. Started out as the OC for FAU. Went 7-5 the first year and met all my 1 year goals but no bowl. Went 8-5 my 2nd year with a bowl game loss to Washington, then went 9-4 my 3rd year with a bowl win over Akron. Got offered the OC at Boston College, and went 9-4 there as well. Then was offered the HC job at Syracuse, so that is where I am.
I did simulate a few games, but as the OC the games go so quickly, and I had a lot of free time early in the week as I was off from work and my wife was gone, so I got a good amoutn of time playing. I assume my rate will slow down a ton now because of less time to play, and longer games now that I will control both sides of the ball.
That said, the coaching carousel is great. I thought after making FAU decent, I would have tons of offers, and I didn't. The first 2 years, I had no offers, so I signed a new contract with FAU. Got lucky after my 1st year and signed a 4* QB who redshirted, then was rated 79 as a RS freshman. Had a very good year that year and was able to move up.
Anyone else having fun with this. It is nice to have to work your way up, and if you don't want to you can just grab your dream job off the bat.

NCAA 12 ruined the way in play dynasty, so me personally I'm not THAT much of a fan...
But gameplay is pretty good...
Overall it's good...
Waiting for Madden...
