I suppose it could be Tuna Salad too.
I was making mine last night and noticed it's really the same as my cole slaw recipe. Anyway, looking to get some ideas on other ingredients you all might use.
Chicken (rotisserie from grocery store) Mayo (2-3 cups) Grey Poupon (3 tbls) LOTS of fresh ground pepper Lemon zest (all from 1 lemon) Lemon juice (1 lemon) Granny Smith Apples (1 big apple) EVOO (about 1/4 cup - smoothes everything out)
Others - Dried Cranberries, Chopped Walnuts & Sliced Grapes.
Yours? No Mayo, less mayo, with celery, more fruit, different nuts, more veggies?

Mine is simple:
- Chicken or Tuna - Mayo - Diced Red Onion - Diced Celery - Lime Juice - Curry Powder - Salt - Cracked Black Pepper

Yogurt.....hrmmm? That sounds like it could almost make up for the mayo portion. I should try that.
And I keep forgetting to buy celery salt when I go shopping.

yep. i'm half-greek so i grew up with a ton of yogurt-based food rather than the more american mayo-based. it's one of the few cases where i prefer the healthier option

Chicken Olive Oil Mayo (that's mayo made with Olive Oil, not olive oil AND mayo) Salt & Pepper Granny Smith Apples Almonds
Sometimes raisins or craisins for a chewy texture, but not always. Sometimes a dash or two of hot sauce.
On a nice, flaky, buttery croissant. *drool*

I usually like mine a bit drier and use less mayo....I also will add some raisins in addition to some of your extras from time to time if I want it to be more like a salad addition rather then sandwiches..

- Chicken - baked or grilled with Kick'n Chicken seasoning - a few green grapes, diced - shredded lettuce - 1-3 cherry tomatoes, diced - blend of some light mayo, olive oil, fresh lemon juice - ground black pepper - 1-2 strips bacon, dried and crumbled in - ...special ingredient....just a bit of some maple syrup to add a dash of sweetness and keep things together

chilled chicken breast cut into pieces diced celery mixed unsalted nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts) non fat mayo Stadium or Ballpark mustard chili powder cracked pepper fennel seeds
I sometimes roll the chicken salad into a heated whole wheat tortilla and eat it like a wrap. Either way, it's crunchy, spicy and really good eatin'.

I rarely make chicken salad---generally I make tuna salad...
My tuna salad:
1 can Solid white albacore
mayo--about 1.5, 2 heaping tablespoons grated horseradish--one tablespoon two good-sized cloves of garlic diced up real small one baby carrot--sliced really thin---think julienned two tablespoons chopped red bell pepper (sometimes sub a few diced cherry tomatoes if no red bells) 1/2 cup or 3/4 cup diced white onion 1.5 diced clausen pickles a couple banana pepper rings diced dash of season salt black pepper to taste (for me its quite a bit---5-6 twists with the grinder.)
Next thing is really important.....always, Always, ALWAYS toast the bread.....
Bed of baby spinach----and its a good, colorful tuna salad sandwich with a little bit of bite from the horseradish (love the stuff and will put it on nearly anything.)
On the odd day where I make chix salad---its about the same recipe....
I also have a way of doing it with red wine vinegar and oil with herbs---if I don't want the mayo and horseradish......
I wish to wash my Irish wristwatch......

I will now grace you all with the best chicken salad recipe EVER Seriously though, this is the only chicken salad I'll eat now. This is not a savory chicken salad, FYI, and is based on the Waldorf chicken salad. This is my own rendition of it. Best flavor 2-3 days after making it. Wet bowl 2.5 cups miracle whip Add quarter cup Orange juice 3 tablespoons Cinnamon 3 tablespoons Nutmeg (I generally use the already ground stuff unfortunately) 2 tablespoons cardamom Dry bowl 4-5 Boneless, skinless chicken breast. I usually boil and then shred them because toughed outer layers make for hard eating. Plus, all the succulence in this salad comes from other sources, not the chicken. 1-2 apples, depending on size, Diced medium 2-3 handfuls of halved red grapes 2-3 handfuls of halved green grapes 1 cup raisins 1.5 cups walnuts Mix the wet bowl into the dry bowl. Halve and toast a few croissants. Place chicken salad on the croissants and enjoy!

I greatly dislike any chicken salad that has fruit and/or nuts in it.
Just not my cup of tea.
Also, any recipe with Miracle Whip and not real mayonaise loses me from word one. I just can't stand Miracle Whip.
I like chicken salad with mayo and a lot different veggies in it. Different kinds of peppers, onions, tomato, celery, and I've even had some with squash, brocolli, and cabbage in it.
There are so many ways to make chicken salad that it's hard to know what you're getting if you order it out somewhere.

Can't miss chicken salad recipe1. Walk out front door 2. get in car 3. drive down road (approximately 5 minutes, temperature varies) 4. pull into parking lot 5. exit vehicle 6. enter store 7. walk to deli 8. ask for chicken salad 9. pay cashier 10. exit store 11. drive home (another 5 minutes) 12. enter home 13. enjoy meal Works like a charm every time and most people can easily follow the recipe. (but I did make some kick ass banana bread last night!)

Actually, that is my favorite recipe as well. "Ruth's" makes a super chicken salad as well if you skip the deli counter and go for the mass made stuff.
Also....do what you say, then go home and gussie it up with grapes, rasins, nuts or whatever else you are inclined to do.

Like I said, it isn't savory. Therefore, no mayo. Mayo's great on sandwiches or potato salad, but it would absolutely ruin this recipe if it were switched. I've seen people substitute plain yogurt for miracle whip in a Whaldorf before though if that would be more your cup 'o tea. Mmm I could hurt one of these right now ...

How many bananas did you use in it?
