I remember hearing she checked into rehab in May but left after only a few days. Its a shame, she had so much talent but in the end it appears she couldn't overcome her addictions
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Anytime someone dies, it's sad. However, I wouldn't say she had a lot of talent.
Quote: I think he is trying to be edgy and humorous or something by implying because she doped she is going to hell...
EDIT: Ebonics?
No, in some other thread somebody said "that's dope as hell", and someone wondered what it meant, and then that person was told they were out of it, then someone said it was an 80's thing, then someone else said it was a 90's saying........... On and on it went - the people that didn't know what it meant were idiots, the people that did know what it meant were stupid...etc.
Another member of the "27 Club"? Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Brian Jones, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Robert Johnson, and a whole bunch of other musicians died at the age of 27. I'm not sure she deserves mention in that kind of company, since I only know one of her songs, but its a strange phenomenom for sure.

I don't know about anyone else, but it is strange how some people seemingly completly , (Completely) having nothing to do with me, no relationship whatsoever, not even a fan, how their death will cause me an unusual amount of grief and mourning.
This is something to be mourned, it is sad, someone so young to die,
Who would have thought 14 was middle aged? Maybe it is just the realization, there will not be any new songs, no new performances, no new interviews.
And it was so obvious to anyone everyone, it couldn't be more ovbious , she is famous for one song, most famous for that one song, and it's lyrics are about refusing rehab. How could this be more preventable or more of an opportunity for someone to step in and do something if this is a drug related death?
This is such a missed opportunity for things to turn out the right way and why? becuase people had to be free to make their own decisions, their own mistakes?
My wife and I loved her music. It was sad to see her always such a mess and just never seeming to pull out of it. There was a twinge of hope when I found out she was supposed to do the European tour but, in the end, it was never going to be a shock to check out early.
To anyone saying she didn't have talent, I just can't agree. I'm guessing you only ever heard that stupid 'Rehab' song. I don't know if she actually wrote her own lyrics, but, to me, her voice was absolutely incredible. On top of that, her backup band is phenomenal.
For anyone saying you never heard her. I honestly suggest you take a listen. You are probably expecting to here just another modern pop chick singing bubblegum crap that makes the talent of the 90s look like hall of fame material. No no no, she had a completely retro, 60s soulful/jazzy kind of thing going on. My parents are in their early 60s and they like her stuff . . .
This is my easily favorite song of hers. I recommend just listening and not watching the distracting video. I just hate videos in general.
If you don't like her, so be it. She was just a ridiculous mess, always making a fool of herself. I'm sure people also couldn't get past her makeup and hair. But to me, it was just all a sad waste of talent.
