So, next week, I would have been announcing to you all that I was expecting baby #2 in February - as I would have just completed the first trimester. Instead, I am asking for thoughts/vibes/prayers. I miscarried our baby on Sunday night.
It's been terribly traumatic and stunning for my husband and I, as well as our little girl. She cried when I told her she wasn't going to be a big sister yet and that it wasn't our turn to have a baby.
The doctors tell me that 30% of pregnancies end in miscarriage and that it's normally because of a chromosomal abnormality with the baby. Still, it's little consolation when you've just lost the baby you've so been waiting for (as I have issue conceiving babies).

So sorry......I had lost a daughter at birth after going full term back in 2001. Now I have two beautiful daughters. One 19 months and the other was born June 23rd last month. I wish your family peace and strength during this time.

Thanks. Sometimes its a small comfort to know you aren't alone in your pain. When I told my girlfriend about what you were going through her concern for you distracted her from her own thoughts for a little while, which was good, I think.

It does help to know you're not alone. It still sucks ass, and doesn't bring your baby back, but it does help.

It is more common than I thought (like you said). My wife lost what would have been our second at the time in 2007. I'll never forget going in for the ultrasound after some spotting and reading the doctors face... I knew it was no good. Very tough to go through.
We have since had two more children. 3 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. I think the main thing with my wife was the feeling of guilt. Like she could have done something. Which is not true. So purge those thoughts if your having them.

I hope you don't blame yourself for this. As you said, it's very common for this to happen with any pregnancy due to a bad combo of genes that just happens to get through. It's an extremely regimented gene expression sequence that goes on during the first 3 months of life, and it's easy to mis-express something early on that results in a nonviable zygote.
