Ooooh, that's a biggy!

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

You could argue, if Dawan Landry never tries to tackle Hillis the way he did...Noone else trys to go low on him, and the leaping gimmick never gets as big as it did...

LOL,...I think he was somewhat hyped anyway. Let's see how he does without the benefit of a ED Reed

Just saw this article right after I posted the above statement.

Quote:

So Nnamdi Asomugha is a Philadelphia Eagle. Still getting used to that one.

The move will be huge news in Philadelphia, especially to the Eagles’ former top-paid cornerback. We fully expect trade chatter surrounding Asante Samuel based on the following tweet from Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer:

“The #Eagles plan is to carry all three CBs for the season unless they get a good trade offer,” McLane writes.

Translation: We would really love to hear your good trade offer. Please send them to us.

Greg Cosell of NFL Films in the Philly area points out that Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie both play bump and run coverage. Samuel does not and may not fit what they want to do in 2011.

Samuel is due over $9 million in 2011, which could depress his trade market. He’s currently not in training camp because of an “excused absence.” It wouldn’t shock us if Samuel stays in Philly because he’s still very good and could be tough to deal.

We would officially like to thank the Eagles for keeping this week so damn interesting.

Thought their would be a flurry of activity once the gates opened at six. It seems like all the major networks can't stop drooling over Nnamdi and the Eagles.

An interesting note concerning the Jets...at 13:55 today it was announced that 4 Jets players had agreed to restructure their contracts in order to clear cap space for the Jets.

...1 hr and 5 minutes later, at 15:00, the Jets announced they were no longer in the running for Asomugha...I wonder exactly when the Jets found out they were out of the deal for Asomugha?...

...slick way for the Jets front office to get their players to restructure?...or just remarkable timing by the Jets front office in an effort to make a deal for Asomugha..

...hopefully the restructuring by the players was to their benefit, financially.

Pretty telling that a team that has money to spend (obviously after they didn't get Asomugha but were willing to pay him big money) and a need at WR (Brad Smith is gone and so is Edwards) won't re-sign the guy.

In all honesty Id be tickled if we got him back. I dont get to caught up in players personalities. And Edwards is the hands down best WR available. Leaps and bounds better than anything we have on this team right now.
I could live with a few dropped balls in exchange for the leaping catches and outside blocking.

I think there is 0% chance he comes back here. He won't want to, and while many fans will say "yeah, bring him back!", as soon as he drops a pass (which will happen), people will go nuts. And, I don't think BE has the mental ability to just shake things like that off.

Maybe not probable, but if we want to win any games this year we are in desperate need of a playmaker for the offense. Colt is going to struggle to score if the only players he has to throw to are TEs and Backs.
Then again, it is a completely new regime from when he was here. And we have cash to spend.

I would welcome him back!!! BE is a head case, but all WR's are usually.... He is a talent and I would like what he would contribute on the field... I would just ignore anything he did or said off the field..... we need talent and its upsetting were not striving for pos. players of need... i.e. WR, MLB, CB, OL, DL....

I do not agree that we are desperate
or that we are in desperation mode.

Conversely, like it or not we are rebuilding and that's not to say we do not want to win now either.
It means that we are going to get younger overall.
There is a trade off I think in the short term for production and continuity in the long term, at least this is my hope, but we are all keenly aware that not every plan comes to fruition.

I do not want to re chew the issue of BE and I ca not believe the FO would be up for that either, but TJMHO.

Dave Logan.

Larry Fitzgerald.
Wes Welker.
Steve Largent.
Chris Carter.
Lynn Swan
Art Monk
Donald Driver
The list goes on and on.........(I only threw in a few of the Browns receivers I could remember off the top of my head)....no, MOST good wide receivers are team players, not show boaters, not "me me me" guys.

Braylon is confusing to me. is he the guy that mouthed off when he was traded to the Jets or is he the guy that made a commitment to kids and then came through for them?

Is he the guy that leaps above everyone and catches the tough ball or is he the guy that drops the ball with nobody around him?

Is he the loud mouthed punk or the guy that appears humble at other times?

I don't need a player that's so much a goody two shoes... I also don't one that punches guys out on the streets either.

The thing about Edwards is, somewhere in his chest beats a heart that kept his words to a bunch of kids.. So would I soften towards him.., actually, I think I would.

Do I think there is a rats chance in hell that we'll go after him? No..

Agreed. What happens when defenses key in on Hillis and Watson while MoMass and Robo are struggling to get separation?

I agree with everyone else who says it'll never happen, but I'd welcome Edwards back with open arms. His number is now available too.

Not surprising, though I wonder how much he has left in the tank.

However, he isn't beat up. So long as he doesn't get some goofy injury, he should be able to last. His best asset is his brain, so he should be able to hang around.

The Best part about Edwards is that he is young. Rebuilding and getting younger does not preclude him at all. If he gets his act together he will be a weapon for years to come wherever he lands.
As for being desperate, you might change your mind after a few games of watching safeties sittin in the box while mediocre corners shut down our receivers 1 on 1.
