Jenkins was a guy I was a little intrigued with, though I'm not that upset that we didn't get him. I remember him being pretty tough at OSU, but he didn't live up to the hype in Atlanta.

I don't think he is a #1 receiver, but he's not a bad #2. Julio Jones probably made him expendable.

Kenyon Coleman isn't a 4-3 end. Guy is 300lbs.

Coleman's a Cowboy. They're "high on" Elam as well.

Marion Barber to the Bears

Texans waive Amobi Okoye.

Is Okoye worth looking at? He's been in the league 4 years and is still only 24. I've read where tons of people online have said he'd kick butt in a 4-3. Of course, once again, it's just yahoos on the internet . . .

Never mind, he's a Bear now . . .

I thought the Texans were a 4/3 Defense.

Maybe, you're right. Maybe I heard the opposite of what I typed. Either way, he's a Bear . . .

Barrett Ruud to the Titans

Noel Devine already cut from Eagles . . .

Texans are switching to a 3-4 this year which is why they drafted Watt and Reed before their threee secondary picks.

I still say they had the best draft this year.

As for being desperate, you might change your mind after a few games of watching safeties sittin in the box while mediocre corners shut down our receivers 1 on 1.

Crystal ball? What channel is it on.

No need to look into the future to see that scenario coming. Just look at the past couple of seasons and let history show you.
Thinking that we can do the same thing again and have different results this time, well you know what they say.

Of course Ive been wrong once or twice. Maybe Robo and Mass will break out this year.

Well you did leave yourself open for that.

Nothing personal old boy.

Your entitle to your opinion, but myself I will wait to see what might be with a proven offensive scheme.

Art Monk
Donald Driver
The list goes on and on.........(I only threw in a few of the Browns receivers I could remember off the top of my head)....no, MOST good wide receivers were team players, not show boaters, not "me me me" guys.

Most of your list were players from a different era, so I fixed it for you

The list of upper tier headcases from the present contains Randy Moss, TO, Ochocinco, Vincent Jackson, Braylon, Steve Smith (panthers), Brandon Marshall, Santonio Holmes (1 strike left for him), Michael Crabtree is well on his way in both talent and insanity...and perhaps a few more players I couldn't think of off the top of my head.

Outside of Fitgerald, Driver, and Welker, who in the NFL right now or recently retired playing WR, who are sane, is better than the head cases I listed? Roddy White, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson? Those are the only ones I can come up with off the top of my head. Maybe Miles Austin? He's probably nuts though, he does play for Jerry Jones after all, and I'm sure that has a way of driving you crazy.

I think his point was that for some reason, WR is a position with an absurd ratio of insane:sane players in the top tier, and I think he's got a valid argument.

I don't think any of us are really holding it against him anymore that he punched one of LeBron's crew, I think we can understand where he was coming from now that we took our blinders off

Actually, I could care less who he punches,, I would just prefer that he punches nobody... The LBJ connection didn't bother me then, it doesn't bother me now to be honest.

I see your point... But in todays NFL there are several:
T.O.
Randy Moss
Chad Ocho..
Brandon Marshall
Plaxico (Hx:)
Anquan Boldin
Michael Irvin (was)
Keyshawn Johnson (was)
Desean Jackson (me..me..me.)
even Santonio Holmes (off field w/ his domestic issues in past)
i'm not gonna get in a pissin contest...
I am just saying thats a perception... Theres good and bad... I just wanna win and I would not mind bringing B.E. back..

Speaking of head cases .....

The head case who just got out of prison is joining the Jets.

Plaxico Burress to Jets

http://mike-freeman.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6264363/31010770

Plaxico Burress will indeed join the Jets, according to a team source.

The details aren't exactly known but Burress accepted the Jets' offer. It's a one-year deal.

The Jets now have one of the best wide receiver groups in the league. When I tweeted that earlier it caused an avalanche of smart-ass-ness including from wanna be GM Pete Prisco. But I have a higher opinion of Burress as a player than others. I think he's one of the most physically gifted wide receivers of the past decade and his stint in prison doesn't scare me. Just like Mike Vick's stint in the hoosegow didn't totally scare me and we see what Vick did at a much tougher position to re-master.

Vick emerged from prison a better player. I think Burress can as well.

Burress was out west visiting the San Francisco 49ers. The story actually first leaked when a friend of Burress, running back Fred Taylor, congratulated Burress on his joining the Jets.

Burress later wrote on his Twitter page: "East Coast here I come!"

Burress recently had a meeting with his former coach, Tom Coughlin. Coughlin described the meeting as pleasant but Burress' meeting with the Jets must have been more pleasant. Burress also met with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Jets lost out on a great defensive back but they gain a terrific wide receiver.

Most recently, former Trojan linebacker Lofa Tatupu, who preceded Carroll to Seattle, wants out.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Tatupu requested his release after the team asked him to take a pay cut. Per Schefter, the Seahawks plan to comply.

A three-time Pro Bowler to start his career, Tatupu has fallen off in the second three seasons of his six-year career.

Sign Edwards and Tatupu.

We might have a shot at 8-8 if we do that.

I read a camp report today that said the WRs couldn't get separation.

Bring back Edwards!

Bring back Edwards!

Bring back Edwards!

I live in NY. Every time Edwards spoke when he first got here he bashed Cleveland. Sometimes he wouldnt even talk about an up coming game, he would just complain about Cleveland. Now that The Jets have cut him all I here is "I love the Jets nation they are so good to me ...." The guy would not come here. I think he would sit out before coming here. I dont want him I just picture him dropping a pass that would get us into the playoffs.

I know it's an unpopular opinion. And maybe he wouldn't want to come back.

But he would instantly be our best player at a position of HUGE need. He would improve all facets of the O and give McCoy a real chance to grow.

I'm all for giving the guy a second chance and letting bygones be bygones. I know we have enough idiot fans that wouldn't let that happen, however.

But I'm kind of tired of sitting through 4 and 5 win seasons and that's exactly what we are headed for with the O as it is currently constructed.

We need a real WR threat.

I think he meant plenty of fans that wouldn't let bygones be bygones, and he's right.

I'd take Braylon back here in a heartbeat. Regardless of what people on here think about his ability, or joke about him not being able to catch a cold or whatever, he's a legit WR threat that has to be planned for.

Yes, that is what I meant. Thanks.

I didn't think it was all that confusing.

Edwards would instantly upgrade this O. Instantly.

The main idiot fan that wouldn't let that happen is Edwards who is an idiot fan of himself.

He said far too many bad things about Cleveland to swallow all that now and agree to re-sign with the Browns. He could never backpedal fast enough to erase all those anti-comments he made about the team. Even if the FO, the fans and the media were ok with him and welcomed him back with open arms I doubt very much he could ever be ok with himself while here.

That's a hell of a lot of pride to swallow.

And if he had a real lack of money I'd agree.

But he doesn't, at least not right now, and he's never gonna come here voluntarily. That's the closest thing to a sure bet that there is in football right now.

As you can see by my first post I totally agree with you.

I was just agreeing with Adam that no one is offering him squat yet so maybe he's getting the message that he's not all he's cracked himself up to be. His Jets don't even want him back and all his "I love the Jets" comments ain't gonna work on them. It reminds me of Moss's "I love the Patriots" stuff.

But as Adam alluded, lack of a contract offer anywhere else talks just as much money offers talk. Still, even if he had second thoughts about Cleveland I don't think second thoughts would be enough to force him to eat all the crow he'd have to eat.

Someone will sign him to a short deal. He is better than average.

If he can't find the right deal, he might go to a contender on a 1 year deal in hopes of showing that he is great, and worthy of a huge deal.

If he had a guy like Aaron Rodgers throwing to him his stats could blow through the roof .... and earn him an enormous deal somewhere.
