I just find that to be so laughable that it's almost scary.
Scratch that ... it is downright scary.

Maybe our LBs will surprise us, if they can stay healthy. Fujita is solid and a leader, D'Qwell has good wheels and can be a baller in the right system. A lot of people are down on Gocong but a lot of people don't really know what they're talking about, either. I've got my....

I like Fujita. I think that he can be an impact player in the 4-3.
I think that Jackson is a waste of a roster spot, and that Gocong is much better in the 3-4.
We'll see what happens ...... I absolutely hope that you're right and that I'm dead wrong.

D'Qwell was decent in the 3-4 but for years, posters here always suggested he'd be better in a 4-3... as for Gocong, yeah I have my doubts, too... I'm hoping someone else takes his No. 1 spot (like Kaluka).
I will say that we seem very thin at linebacker.

Watching the highlights of Family Day on Training Camp Daily made it look like most of the passes were either being dumped to the back, or being thrown to the tight end. The receivers didn't seem to get too involved. Whether it was different than what the highlights were showing, I don't know. Not sure if it's McCoy having a case of Quinnitis or the receivers just being not good, or both- remains to be seen I guess.

No doubt they are being very basics with the fundamentals at this point... with no chance to gel in the off-season and a new system, the offence has to walk (crawl, even) before it can run.

Colt favored the TE's last year..
I'm hoping he has confidence to throw to the sideline, and not just the middle of the field.

I understand your thinking Ytown.. in fact, anyone that buys into the LB's being as good as Heckert says,,, Hmmm just doesn't seem plausible..
But, I want to be surprised.. I want them to prove us skeptics wrong.
The thing is, there are two sides to this. One side says that heckert is a professional GM, he's been in the league for a long time, grew up around football.. I suspect he knows stuff that you and I and everyone on this board never will. You would think he knows what he's talking about.
The other side says, he has to say those things. he has to bring positivity to the whole media thing. there is no way he can say,, "hey, we are gonna suck at LB this year"
I guess he could have just remained silent on the subject or said that it's a constantly evolving scenario.. But he didn't..
I sure as hell hope he's right...

only thing they have to their advantage is experience... other than that.. we'll have to judge on Sundays when they hit the field.
I'm just hoping that DQ can be aggressive enough to stop any HB that gets through our front 4..

Scary? I call it incredibly arrogant. And its a vibe I've gotten more than once from this FO.

Our LBs are every bit as good as our WRs. Seriously, I am much more concerned with offense, again. Is McCoy a starter? Not even franchise, just a starter. Can Marecic replace Vickers? Rewatch the games and see what Vickers did. Can Hillis repeat? Can Pashos stay healthy, or Hardesty? Will the WRs finally show some promise? I think we're set at TE and left side of the line, after that...

That is not true at all. When healthy and in the wrong defense Jackson was an above-average player. We still don't know if he is healthy but now he is in the right defense. He has the potential to be a pretty good player for us. That's worthy of a roster spot.

Better add in you hope he has the arm as well.
This year will tell the tale on the kid.
I hope it works out, that or Jarrett Brown pulls a Kurt Warner and comes out of nowhere.

It's as true as you thinking He is pretty good.
My feeling is the guy is frail and won't hold up, so that makes me agree with YTBF.
What good is a player who can't lift his arms past shoulder level without ripping muscles??

Let's not forget Seneca back there, too. He's mobile and has a cannon for an arm.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

I read in one of the camp reports that McC threw a nice, tight 45-yarder. If he has that at the ready in his arsenal, he'll have enough tools to be a starter.
Even though we're only at the end of the 1st week of TC, I haven't been comfy with the reports of him being hot & cold. He's supposed to be smart & accurate, so I hope it's just rust and the new scheme.
Like you said, this year will tell.

What happened to the "Couch" play...6 games and I know thang???
Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't McCoy gone more than 6 games???
Go Browns!!!
