Yep.

At least the Tea party is standing up for their beliefs.

Does this thing have a balanced budget (clean vote) requirement of any kind?

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

As I said earlier ... they most certainly are not.

I don't even think they really know what their beliefs are.

They most certainly are.

No increase in the debt ceiling.

Cut spending.

No new taxes or tax increases.

It's pretty simple, actually.

And, as you seem to want to ignore, they've already failed on sticking to those beliefs.

The Patriot Act extension was voted for by I believe all but 8 of those in the Tea Party Caucus.

Their founder, Michelle Bachmann voted for it. She also voted for Federal Aviation Administration Act HR 658 (Spending $190.6 Billion). And Defense Authorizations Bill S 3001 (Spending $539.29 Billion). And National Highway Bridge Reconstruction and Inspection Act HR 3999 (Spending $1 Billion). Public Transportation and Alternative Fuel Grants (Spending $850 Million). And Funding for Operations in Iraq and Afghanistan HR 2642 (Spending $165.35 Billion). And, of course, Defense Authorizations Bill HR 4986 (Spending $688.60 Billion).

And that's the founder of their caucus.

You keep claiming they stick to their beliefs when they simply do not. They pick hot button political issues here and there to go after, but at the end of the day, they've behaved exactly like those they denounce. Their idea of cutting spending is a political game where they try to shave spending they don't like, but increase it in areas they do like, with the same lack of responsibility in terms of how it's paid for that they rail against.

They continue to vote to fund and expand defense operations without saying how they'll pay for them. They continue to advocate that the government regulate marriage. They continue to seek federal funding for large spending projects in their district (over $1 billion since the last elections). All these folks got up on the podium and crowed about banning earmarks and wasteful spending, and then ran to file them as fast as they could once they got elected.

But keep telling yourself they're sticking to their beliefs ... that hope and change is right around the corner.
