They moved it to the 22nd.
I will not be upset at all if we take Pryor with a 5th rounder or later.

I don't think he will bring much to the table in the NFL as a QB.

I don't like him at QB either, although Gruden does. (Then again, Gruden never met a QB he didn't like.) I just don't see how you use a draft pick on a WR that may or may not be able to play the position ... catch the ball, run routes, go over the middle, etc. Likewise, not sure how you use a draft pick to take a TE that more than likely never threw a block in his life. I actually see Pryor as a small forward in the CBA.

Just my thoughts but with how heckert has drafted so far I would not spend a 4th or even a 5th on a project reciever.
I agree. We already have a stable full of project receivers.

I think that Pryor could become an elite TE .... if he's willing to work at it. I see him with the same type of size/athletic ability that Gates had when he came into the NFL. I don't think that Gates played any college football at all, did he? He was 6'3" and about 240# in his rookie year. (IIRC) Pryor has been playing football for the past few years. As a QB, he should have an idea of the importance of a quality TE, and how he could flourish there. He has excellent size, and exceptional speed for the position. He could easily be a major threat in the middle of the field. The problem with Gates' comparisions are that Gates was an UDFA .... and Pryor will likely be drafted somewhere, There is a lot of risk, but also a heavy cost involved with a team trying to convert Pryor to a new position. If Gates hadn't worked out, then the Chargers could have simply cut him. Gates situation was quite similar to Josh Cribbs, where he had to produce or he would heva been out of a job; no ifs, ands, or buts. I think that Pryor, because of the draft pick cost, would get at least a year to prove himself, and maybe even through next year's training camp. (assuming that he shows effort) I think that I might take a chance on Pryor if I could get him 6th round or below. I would consider 5th if I truly believed that he would happily convert to a new position. I could imagine a team lining Pryor up at TE ..... sending him in motion to the backfield ala a H Back ..... snapping him the ball and having the defense go "Crap". It wouldn't be an everyday event ..... but could be one of those special plays that could be very effective. About Gruden ... yeah, I can't recall the last QB he didn't like either. He talks every one of them up to All Pro level.

Wow, I would, if they take him at all.
I wonder where you would put Pryor on a depth chart?
here is my guess Wr, at least 6th behind, Massaquoi, Little, Cribbs, Robiskie, Mitchell, Norwood, ?
H-back/ tight end / gimmick/ Ok slash at least 3rd behind Cribbs , Senaca Wallace,
Rb, at least 3rd behind , Hillis, Hardesty/Marecic, Jackson, Smith
Punt Returner, behind Cribbs, Skrine, ?
Safety, Behind Ward, Adams, ? #1 Young, ?#2 Patterson, Dockery,
Quarterback, he has to be the 3rd Qb, this is the best place I'd see him on a depth chart but thats still a question because so much talk has been he won't be an NFL qb but some other position, (for weeks on talk radio) .
If they take him, its for the future, this year he'd probably just be someone to take a pitch and run outside or the wildcat (talk of its not going to be used)
Can he punt and hold for field goal tries?
He might make a good 3rd qb, future #1 qb, but how much time do they have to develop him?
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I think one thing the Patriots do well is develop QBs. They got Brady in the 6th round, I believe.I do not remember what they where then able to get for Bledsoe but it was probably a nice return compared to what it cost them to acquire Brady. The same with Cassell and it appears they may have another QB that someone in the future may want to trade for in Hoyer. Also look what the Eagles got for Kolb. What I am trying to say is this. The Browns do not appear to need a QB for the future but if H&H believe that Pryor has the potential to one day be developed into a player that the BRowns could convert into high draft picks or trade bait then I would have no problem drafting him as a third string QB. Does he have more upside than Jarrett Brown? That, to me, is the question.

After watching the 2 preseason games so far I'd say definitely, Yes.
I'd also say I don't see Heckert putting in a "bid" on Pryor unless Holmgren specifically tells him to do so.

I would honestly be shocked if we tried for anybody in the SD. Doesn't seem like TH's style.

My main problem with Pryor is that coming out of high school he made such a deal of himself which created a lot of the hype back then and it seems he's done the same kind of egocentric stuff in college and now leaving college.
A friend of mine refers to him as the most hyped bad QB to enter a draft.
I hope we don't even consider him. To me, especially since we're in this great state of Ohio, he'd be a distraction that we don't need. And I also believe his ego would not stop here.

Here's a good article about the players eligible for the draft: What players are eligible for 2011 NFL supplemental draft? By Hobson Lopes, Yahoo! Contributor NetworkAug 18, 3:15 pm EDT The NFL supplemental draft is scheduled to take place Aug. 22 and will feature players who hadn't made themselves eligible for the NFL Draft in April. The basic rules about the supplemental draft is if a player is selected in the second round, the team must forfeit their second-round pick in the next NFL Draft. For teams looking to add a quarterback like Terrelle Pryor, they would need to weigh the pros and cons of selection him at a high position. Terrelle Pryor - Quarterback The most known name on this list was just made eligible by the NFL. Pryor was to be suspended for five games in the 2011 season at Ohio State but left the school following the resignation of head coach Jim Tressel. Pryor might be the most talented player in the group but also comes with the most baggage. He will have to sit out five games in the NFL because of his NCAA suspension. Caleb King - Running Back King didn't have the most successful of careers during his time at Georgia when it came to getting on the field. In 2010, he carried the ball just 80 times for 430 yards with two touchdowns. When he got on the field, he was amazing for the Bulldogs but actually playing on Saturday was an issue for the 23-year-old. Depending on where he ends up, he will have a chance to be a star at some point in his career. Mike McAdoo - Defensive End The 6-foot-7-inch, 245-pound McAdoo is entering the supplemental draft after being ruled permanently ineligible for academic misconduct. During two seasons at North Carolina in a rotation role, he recorded just 3 1/2 sacks. With his size, he could become a solid defensive end, but he needs to have quick feet, especially at that height. Tracy Wilson - Defensive Back Playing for Northern Illinois, Wilson recorded 35 total tackles a year ago, with just one interception. In 2009, he recorded 93 tackles for the Huskies, giving the team hope for a repeat solid season. Torez Jones - Defensive Back Jones has a chance to become one of the better players taken in this draft. In 2010, he played 10 games for the Western Carolina Catamounts, recording seven interceptions for 54 yards. He has great speed and nice hands for college, but whether he can adjust to the speed at the professional level will be interesting. Keenan Mace(notes) - Defensive End The 6-foot-4, 313-pound Mace is the biggest question mark in the draft. He played his freshman year at Lindenwood but didn't see action in 2008 or 2009. Then in 2010, he recorded 24 tackles and a sack. Earlier this spring, Mace signed with the Dallas Cowboys but was then released. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ycn-8985065

This may have been answered somewhere in this thread,, not sure
My question, let's say that none of these guys gets drafted in the supplemental draft. what becomes of them then? are they then considered UDFA's and free to sign with anyone?

I would have to assume they do become UDFAs, just like the guys who don't get picked in the "regular" draft. This is their draft.

Yes, if player is eligible for the Supplemental Draft but goes undrafted, then he would become an UDFA.

Just saw that. 3rd is too much IMO. It will be interesting to see who else put in bids.

j/c A buddy of mine is a Bengals fan. He said if the Bengals took Pryor, his brother would never watch another game. I said "you don't have to worry about the Bengals taking him. I have two words for you: Al Davis." That was about 10:00 this morning. I know, I really went out on a limb there.
