OKAY! so..this might be one of the biggest things a guy gets to plan in his life...not a lot of things mean more than this lol..
I GOTTA PLAN A BACHELOR PARTY! for my good friend...best of all it's in VEGAS..and it's about 15-20 ppl. Its for MARCH 1ST-4TH(2012) weekend.
I've already been to vegas and know the general area and how things are done. The trip can get expensive in a hurry so we are trying to plan it now and book things as required..
Just few questions for you guys.
1) Has anyone done this sort of thing? especially in vegas 2) With 20 people do you think we might be better off buying some sort of package that has flight/room/clubs etc? or just buying a flight/room package? 3) no stripclubs...we are going to keep it classy! so what are some things you enjoy in vegas?(minus the obvious gambling and clubs)
Thanks guys!

I agree, strip clubs suck....a big breasted, long legged woman or two jumping out of a cake is the way to go!

Ok....the 20 of you guys can go to Hoover Dam or Drive Red Rock Canyon and discuss your emotions.
That sounds like fun. BrownBucks party in Vegas was a trip to the canyon and the Dam.
The guys will remember that for sure.....really, they will remember you lugged them out there for that.
Maybe you would be better off looking at quilts in Amish country....I've heard some people like that.

1) Yes....pick the weekend, hotel and anything else as fast as possible. You'll get better rates and give everyone a very clear picture of the money they should expect to pay. My nephews Bach Party that is going down in October was just the opposite. The Best Man announced Vegas but delayed the exact weekend and hotel to the point where we ended up paying 50-75% more on both ($300 airfare and $150 for the Paris). Sure, that's not that bad...but I was watching the rates two months prior and the airfare was $150 and $100. 2) I would let the guys find their own flights. It's a pain in the butt arranging schedules and departure locations....like in Chicago, 50% like O'Hare and the other half prefer Midway. Do call to get a group rate at a hotel though, that's a huge discount. And that helps when planning activities, you know where everyone is and will have to end up. 3) Some guys will demand or end up going to a strip club on their own anyway. IMO, leave time for stuff like that. A Bach Party is as much about the guys going as it is for the Bach. They're spending their cash to go so don't put restrictions on what they can or can't do.
The Best Man in the October trip sent out a mail saying we'd go to some Russian bar on Friday night and do bottle service all night and then spend Saturday doing 3-4 strip clubs. I called BS and let him know right away. Why go all the way to Vegas and limit ourselves to ONE bar on Friday night and then only strip clubs on Sat? We can do that in Chicago a lot cheaper and that's not even counting the ari+hotel.
I suggested Friday to be the formal "open" night. We have a classy dinner as a group and then casino-hop throughout the night - if groups break off that's ok, just set a plan for about 2 hours at each casino. If guys stay at a hot table for 4 hours, they know where to meet up.
And then Saturday is the night where we can all go to one adult club but it's optional to go to the 2nd-3rd-4th. Again, one main event each night and then be open about groups breaking off. This works very well for parties of 6 or more. It's really hard to keep 20 grown men happy in Vegas all doing the same thing. Heck, I don't gamble...so I won't spend 6 hours around the craps table like I know some guys would want to.
And remind the Bachelor to watch his booze intake. He needs to remember the events and there's nothing fun about hugging a toilet for 15 hours over an expensive weekend. It won't be easy since every guy wants to buy him a separate shot but shots should be done as big groups...that tends to lower the amount because one guy won't want to buy 13 shots (that would be like $200 in Vegas).
As far as other entertainment ideas....goodness, it's Vegas, they have EVERYTHING! Golf is decent, pool party in a cabana, private poker party, trip to the Hoover Damn and heck, rent some motorcycles and ride up and down the strip (ok, I'm a MC guy).

I didn't go to a strip club for my "bachelor" party. No need to if you/he doesn't want to.
My bachelor party was 3 of us going out to eat and drink. Home by 11. PM.
If people want to go to strip clubs, good for them. No problem. If they don't want to go, good for them. Better for them actually. JMO.
There's plenty to do in Vegas.

Not at all man.....but really, it isn't just about him....what the hell is he going to say....I want strippers??....He can't say that....you have them there, he has no choice and has a reasonable excuse if the future Mrs starts asking too many questions of too many people.
I am not a stripper club guy....haven't been in one in maybe 10-15 years, and never really went in them much before that, but somewhere in this event you better have some bouncing boobs or you will go down as one of the worst bachelor party planners of all time.
You go to Vegas....you don't want to count the gambling and drinking and ask what else to do to make it memorable???
There is only one other thing unless you ask Oprah.

Did he tell you that with his fiance present? Why go to sin city for a bachelor party and exclude adult entertainment? I'd be willing to bet that you'll end up at strip club before those 3 days are over.

I don't know if you HAVE to hit a strip club....but it is a rite of passage if you will. That may mean you go in, get a lap dance and then bolt....heck even joke about how lame it was. I would advise trying to surprise it on him. Again, I would be willing to bet half the other guys want to go to one (or three)...so don't stone them because one guy, even it was the bach, said they weren't interested. It's a trip for everyone, not just the bachelor. Some married guys I know plan the whole trip around the strip club because it's the one night they are allowed to go into one.
Golf is good and bad. It's a day activity but expensive and limits how far you can go the night before. Also, airlines charge $30 each way to bring a set of clubs...so that's a pain in the butt.
Are most of the guys going single, newly married, have kids or really old? That might play into the planning too.

Heck..I had to log back in to make this point.....You're going to Vegas, for a bachelor party. Is this girl your friend is marrying a total idiot?? She is going to hold his bachelor party over his head for 25 years.....after that, they don't care if it gets that far.....he is going to get accused of all sorts of devious/ perverted things( in her mind) while the whole time you were listening to the choir sing?? If he is going to get blamed, it's your duty to give him something to be blamed for. That sounds a bit "Stiffler'ish", so I'll log out again......but you get the point.

GREAT stuff Punch..thanks man.
My plan was smilar...we are going to get there Thursday night(1st) so i figure that night will be the night everyone do whatevery they want no need to plan anything that night. Friday we do dinner together and go out to some clubs/gamble etc....and saturday will be the adult night...i'm thinking about having some girls come to the room instead of going to the strip club. I have never done this and dont' know how much it will cost. but that is the very basic plan for now..

PEEN i mean don't worry about the gambling and clubs because i'll figure that out and know enough...i just wanted some activities that are not so obvious to me when i think of vegas and bachelor party...maybe someone can tell me a place that they have been that was fun...like i just found out there is some bar where the severs are topless...things like that.

haha no he didn't..he was very straight forward with me about that.
Guys relax..i'm not going to stand in the way of 20 guys if they want to go to a strip club...i just want to make sure i have other plans as options.

Sounds like you are coming to your senses.
$500 gets you a couple of dancers for 30-45 minutes.....maybe longer if theyöare in to the party and don't have another gig booked.

No problem, glad I could help in some little way.
The main thing that irks me is when some guys spends big chunks of my money. Like I was saying before, my nephew has his Vegas trip in October and a recently announced Chicago day in September. Both events the main guy talked about renting a beer trolley, setting up all-you-can-drink events at bars, bottle service and even pooling money to bet on Keno/horses.
The trip is expensive enough without forking over $60 for a trolly or $80 for bottle service (and I don't drink the hard stuff). If you pick the right hotel, you can walk to everything or take cabs (and some hotels will provide a free shuttle).
Some guys are rich, some are poor, some like spending money and some are tightwads. Keep the plans cheap and then let the guys spend their own cash on the things they want.
.......however, renting/reserving a cabana might be a good idea. Depends on how much they run.

The last time I went out there a few locals said Stoney's is the place to be on thursday night. They have ladies night, and the women far outnumber the men. They said if you can't get laid at Stoney's, you won't get laid at all in Vegas.
I've been to vegas several times. All the casinos have something to offer. I've always like the palms, and the rio. My favorite strip clubs are crazy horse, and spearmint rhino.
Enjoy your time. Nothing like Vegas.

There were absolutely no limits the night before when we did it. I think we were still drunk when golfing the next morning. This was in Cleveland too the party was on Hessler St in my apartment then we went to a local public course. I forget which one. I am pretty sure half the guys didnt know how to play. I would recommend playing the worst course in Vegas. It not about the game its just about doing it.

Oh sorry, you make a good point, golfing doesn't really limit the craziness of the night before UNLESS it's Vegas in July. We were insanely drunk at 4 or 5 in the morning and then teed off at 9am when it was already 95+ degrees. By the time we were at the turn it was 110'ish and we were all miserable. Heck, a non-hungover fully hydrated person taking frequent sips of water would get some level of heat fatigue golfing in those temps. We were zombies and all had headaches until later that evening. In that respect, it's not a good idea. A trip through old Vegas might be fun too. Low bet limits, a more classic feel, less families and it's not too far away either. Also, a show might roll a few eyes amongst guys....though a comedian, concert, or magic show might be different. I took my wife to a magic show / comedy show and it was really good. I think it was The Amazing Jonathon or something. Cheap too.

It's Vegas. Drink heavily while you go night golfing with strippers ....... and play roulette and poker on a specially equipped golf cart. I bet you could actually do that somewhere in Vegas.

Well you're celebrating his voluntarily signing up for giving away half of everything he's earned in the next 10 years and paying someone monthly, he now can't stand, for 15 years after that.
If you really like the guy, take the money and open an off shore account for him in the Caymans. This way at least he'll have something to fall back on.

I didn't have the strip club for my BP either...could have gone either way with that...But what I did do was far more memorable.
Every now and then the Bachelor Party...what do I do thread comes up...The best advice I can give is this.....Know the Groom.
In my case I could have gone either way with the strip club, but my guys knew that it wouldn't have been a big deal. So they pooled some cash together and bought me a 10 Lap Ride and Drive in a NASCAR Sprint Cup Car. 10 Laps I rode with the guy and 10 Laps I drove the car. Believe me...that was far better than any strip club......for me. Then we went to the casino, had a good meal, gambled a little, drank a little, and had a great time.
So if golf isn't his thing...stay away from golf...If it is...incorporate it....If Baseball is his thing...find a way to incororate it. If wine and food is his thing...find some of the best restaraunts Vegas has and they have some good ones and take him on some tastings....If staring at beautiful women just throws him for a loop...Vegas has plenty of strip clubs and they also have the bunny ranch...lol But make sure they are things that you would never normally get the chance to do.
As I said....KNOW THE GROOM....the Bachelor Party is your send off to him.
It says.."Dude...We may not get to do all these things as often as we like once you say your vows so we are going to make sure that you get to experience it here. This is YOUR night"
So think hard about how you you want that phrase physically expressed.
I thought I was wrong once....but I was mistaken...
What's the use of wearing your lucky rocketship underpants if nobody wants to see them????

Don't plan every minute, don't even plan every day. I did a 3 day bachelor party where the "host" had every moment planned from the time we arrived. Granted we had a blast, but there were a couple things I wanted to check out while I was there that I didn't have time for.
Also, allow for time adjustments. Depending on when you all fly in, some guys may need the first night to adjust. I know when I go to Vegas I usually fly in on a Thursday after working all day, so by the time I get there it's 10pm Vegas time (1am my time) and I'm amped up for a couple hours since it's Vegas, but quickly come crashing down.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

Its for MARCH 1ST-4TH(2012) weekend.
my first question would be: how solid is this date? is it possible to move it up 2 weekends?
if you can move it to opening weekend of March Madness and get there Wednesday night Vegas will be absolutely hopping and you can add a bunch of trips to sports-books in various establishments (i suggest Caesar's).
if the groom doesn't like March Madness? well, then he isn't American and you might as well go to Toronto instead

Hofbrau House is a cool replication of the real one in Munich and a lot of fun, especially for big parties. And it's still fun if it's just a bunch of dudes. If you haven't done this, plan to start one of your nights there.
Girls to the room is a way better option than going to the strip clubs. Should be able to get 3 girls for a few hours for $2k. That's $100/person. Not bad. All the guys should have some additional money to tip, etc. But be careful, these things can get out of hand. I guess it just depends on what you want. Also, in order to do it you really need a suite. Don't know if anyone is going to spring for that or not.
When is the actually date of the bach party? If the pools are still open, I would get a cabana one day. Can't go wrong with that.
Apparently, Cosmopolitan is the new "it" place. If you're not staying there, I would plan one of the clubs and some food there. It's been open for quite some time, and I still haven't been, but I heard it's pretty awesome for nightlife and food.
I'll try to think of more, but Vegas is what Vegas is. Gambling, drinking, partying ...
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Well if you want to keep it classy I say go with a western theme. Lay around and relax at a ranch. Lots of riding, relaxing, and taking in the beautiful scenery. I hear they have a real cute ranch out there called the Bunny Ranch. Sounds pretty sweet to me
I AM ALWAYS RIGHT... except when I am wrong.
