So let me get this straight,Brian the Robot is listed number 1 or 2 on the depth chart..based on what.....what has he done in 3 years to warrant him the WR job?
By not bringing in a FA WR to push Robotskie for playing time,he probally has a sense of entitlement.
Mike Holgrem should have kicked the tires on Lee Evans or Steve Breaston for gods sakes.
Brian Robiskie is a shining example of Mangini lack of eye for talent.
Mauluga and Wallace are on the board and he takes this stiff.....
he can't get open,he can't find soft zones and he can't out run senior citizens like Nate Clements....
you can only throw to your TE's so much.

You mean Quarterback, Quarterback ! right.

It's an established and you mean Quarterback not wide receiver? right?

I completely agree with you Dawg it's clear that Colt just doesn't have "it" after today's game I think we should pack it in and get Luck because Colt is horrible.

It doesn't matter who you bring in if he doesn't have the tools to be successful. Just sayin'

May have helped to bring one in, but at this point, we gotta find out what we have.

Hasselbeck would have been my choice he's a proven veteran who can get the job done. Why stick with a third round midgit that looks like Luke Skywalker at QB. I can't take him serious.

Lee Evans, Steve Breaston, Sidney Rice, Steve Smith, Jerricho Cotchery, Micheal Jenkins were all available this off season.
and any of those WR's are better than any WR on the Browns roster right now.
Oppposing defenses don't have to concern themselves with Brian the Robot.
Colt can only do so much with his lack of field strechers to throw to.

There's lots of blame to go around. I'll add play calling and bad QB play.

We're trying to throw the ball downfield and he checked the ball down to Trent Richardson and the Indians on the choice.

Where did he blame Heckert?

OL depth is hurting us right now. That's a fact, not an indictment.

I wouldn't have minded having a sure-handed receiver who can create separation on some of our many third-and-longs today.

He's talking about bringing in guys, who does that?

Surely not the General Manager?

But anyways, I wasn't saying he was BLAMING Heckert, I'm just saying, he after we know Steiny got hurt, and Yates retired, he wants to say we should have brought in better people after the fact...

He did bring in guys though. He brought in Hicks. He brought in Cousins. He brought in one guy with a ton of experience and another guy who he thinks has some promise.

He's not going to go sign a right side Joe Thomas off waivers. He brought in a couple of decent players .... which is about all he could do at this point.

It's better than giving $30 million to a guy like Kevin Shaffer.

I'll blame Heckert if that will help the argument

Now I'm not an owner , a Pres. , a GM , or even a lowly Coach .. But there is noway I would be going into the season counting on Pathos at RT and , and absolutely no back up at LT !

I'm willing to over look the Guard position ( injury ) because we had counted on Yates and we drafted a Rook.... No problem .. But Heckert screwed the pooch at the tackle position.. Said so during the draft and in FA...

If there is one man on this planet that knows hasselback, it's Holmgren. I would think it would have been as easy as pie for Holmgren to convince him to come here.. if Holmgren wanted him.

Now what does that tell you when Holmgren didn't insist on grabbing him?

It tells me that Holmgren doesn't feel he's the guy that can help us.

JMO, but I bet I'm right.

Oh, the midget thing was funny.. But I wonder if you knew that McCoy is roughly the same size as Montana and Brees.. Superbowl winning QB's..

Just to let you know, size isn't the most important factor., Nether is arm strength.. in the WCO,, accuracy and smarts are the keys.. McCoy has them.

Gonna be hard to take you seriously....

That at least made me ....I actually call him "the Hobbit", but Luke Skywalker is pretty funny too....that said, as much as I do not believe in McCoy, I was ok to let him start this season...of the group of vet QBs I wanted nobody...Hasselbeck, McNabb...are all toast...if anything we should have picked Gabbert but with ATL's offer on the table I would have probably taken the deal too

If we pick in the top 10 again next year and get a 20-25 from ATL I think we will trade up for our franchise QB

Ryan Tucker had a decent run at RT but we've had our fair share of bad play at the RT position.

This position more then any other, baffled me as to why we did not try and up grade it threw FA (not that you can fill every void every year) and we counted on Pashos to be able to answer the bell for 16 weeks.
Cousins and Hicks are backups and I don't think that the criticism should be directed at them per say, because they are not supposed to be option one and neither have been here long enough to have built any chemistry with our OL.

Both of the Bengals starting DE's gave us fits all day and they are both taller players who are going to bat their share of passes at the LOS, especially if they know that they are blitzing and expect a 3 step drop by the QB.

Both of their starting OLBers came threw FA this year and both (Lawson and Howard) players where players I liked from that position.
They have a pretty solid group on defense and If they have any weakness at all on that side of the ball it's at Safety.

Giving credit where credit is due, I thought that they where the better defense on Sunday.

We did have a couple of bright spots on defense albeit it's no consolation in the loss.

DQ had a heck of a game and looked like an all pro at the MIKE. Taylor and Rubin where a force in the middle, but they can't help our soft play vs. the run off tackle. T.J. Ward looked rusty and was caught out of position on Benson's long run for a TD in the 4th quarter. Mitchell and Fujita where both stoned at the LOS on that play and neither could get off off their blocks. Come to think of it neither where effective rushing the passer either, at least Sheard and Benard got some pressure on the weak side.

Haden had 3 tackles including a sack to go along (5) passes defensed. He held A.J. Green catch-less until the play that needs no name happened.

Skrine showed off his speed getting down field with a very nice open field tackle on ST's.

Speaking of ST's play I thought Cribbs looked like he has returned to 2009 form, returning KO and punts, so I thought that was a good sign.

We where all concerned about the rookie Pinkston starting at LG.
I don't recall hearing his name called for anything negative and I don't recall his man in Colts face either. Even if he was not spectacular I thought that he held his own there for the most part.

Have we signed a new punter yet?

TJ Ward made more plays at or near the line of scrimmage this game than most Browns linebackers have in their entire tenure with the team since "the Return."

Thank you for mentioning Skrine. I forgot to bring him up but he was an animal in kick coverage!

Yes T.J. made some nice plays, but he made some mistakes too and I think that's because of the time he missed in the preseason. He will be okay going forwards. I'm not to worried there, it was to be expected from him and Gocong too. I though Usama had some nice hits and he got some much needed PT with the starting group too.

Do you realize that you are saying is that Ward made more plays at or near the line of scrimmage IN THIS GAM than the any linebacker has made in the entire tenure with the team.

IN ONE GAME.. are you forgetting that we had a rookie LB that had 11 sacks in his rookie season.. that alone makes what you said Wrong..

If I try, I'm betting I can find more plays by any particular LB we've had than Ward had in the game yesterday., it's a silly assertion on your part.

What's Matt Leinart doing these days? What about Delhomme?

I wonder if they take the tight ends off the field for the 2 min offense because when they run the 2 min offense its usually an int or an incompleted pass to the runningback. Maybe they should try the 2 min offense with 3 or 4 tight ends out there so the QB will ...AH nevermind!

How many years since this team had a winning drive on offense late in the 4th quarter, How many years back is the 2nd one?

Great,,, and I love the kid so don't take this the wrong way, but 6 tackle, 10 Tackles, isn't enough to make his statement true.. Just saying

why not. that's what I thought to myself. why not make this just like the political threads since that is the type of inane arguments that seem to be being made here anyway

Daman, here is what was said

Quote:

but, then you changed it to fit your argument in a later post to this:

Quote:

Proof that Ward didn't do as much in one game as any LB has in his tenure with the Browns

there is a huge difference between "any" LB and "most" LB. One infers you can find one example to dispute the claim. The other infers that you need to look at all the LBers and figure out if 51% match the claim.

now, also, what was not mentioned is what those LBers really pertain to. Do they only include guys that were starters? Do they include everyone that has made the 53-man roster? Do they even include the guys on the 75/80/90 man preseason rosters?

Depending on the limitations that you put on the LB, it is quite possible to find a scenario that makes the seemingly hyperbolic statement true.

Since you like politifact ratings so much, I think we'll give it one like they do: this statement is rated BARELY TRUE
