I have this guy who lives down the street with his wife and kids....
EVERYTIME i drive by he yells at me to slow down(the speed limit is 15mph on our street)

If i EVER see any kids on the street when i get on i go like 5mph...but if i don't i'm crussing 20-25....and this guy yells at me for going above 15mph...

1) How would he know if i'm going too fast?
2) It doesn't matter how fast i go now..he just stands there and stares at me when i'm driving down the street...
3) This makes me want to get out of the car and punch him in the face...(but i won't lol)

Anyone else have annoying neighbours like this?

Well, If I'm in the wrong I just smile and go on, if I'm doing the speed limit (or within the 15-20mph reasonable speed) and he continues to be an ahole, I pull up in front of his house when he's eyeing me, and I light up the tires, flip him off and tell him to call the police.

15mph on your street? I though ours at 20 was bad

Yeah, you. YOU DRIVE TOO FAST!!!! Trying to think if I've ever seen a 15 MPH speed limit sign in my life.

We rent a town house. The guy on the other side of the wall is a Bengal fan. He and his brother who is currently living in their basement went to our opener in all their Bungle gear. I'll stop there . . .

The family on the OTHER side of us has 3 "children." 1 still in high school, 2 in college (still at home?). All 3 "children" slam the door hard enough to kill someone every single time they go though it.

3 doors down is the neigbor who catches garbage raiding raccoons in a box trap (no problem there) but then proceeds to just throw the trap into the river and let the raccoons drown inside. I want to hit him in the teeth with a big wrench.

Sooner or later you'll find that guy behind you as you enter the street.....go about 2mph.

Only you know if you were going too fast or not...if the speed is 15 and you were going 23....then you were going too fast.

I didn't know they posted 15 on any street outside of active school zones.

only place I've ever seen 15mph limits is in parking lots.

I think my fuel injection causes the car to drive faster than that. I'd have to ride the brake all the way down the street.

The street I live on is posted at 15mph.. I obey it because we have kids all around the area and I just don't want to take the chance.

As for neighbors I'd like to choke,, Yeah, I got one. he's about 75 years old, retired for about 15 years now, just he and his wife and frankly, he doesn't have anything to do but be a busy body.

In late july, my other neighbor was packing to move south. She has a 14 year old daughter. The 14 year old was up at the park at the end of our street and my old man neighbor happen to notice her there with another young girl.

he decided to come to my door to tell me that the two girls were having sex out in the open.. being the silly sob that I am, I asked if he got pictures.. He didn't find it funny I guess and insisted that I speak to the woman about her daughter,

When I refused, he called me a few names and went around the neighborhood talking about me.

Here is the truly funny part, the girls were embracing.. they are 14 years old and close friends and they are now going to be living 1000 miles apart. As is most always the case, for them, it was the end of the world.. All the drama.....

They weren't having sex.. they were consoling each other.

My old man neighbor just likes to cause trouble..

now when I walk my dog, he comes out of his place, stands there stareing at me as I walk by. (no speeding cars LOL) He stands there with his hands on his hips giving me this madman scowl....

it's starting to get funny and the other neighbors are really catching on and beginning to ignore him also.

Mine isn't an annoying neighbor as much as her annoying dogs.

This one neighbor has 2 small toy dogs, that bark at anything that moves, and especially at other dogs, squirrels, rabbits, birds they see during their walks. And this neighbor appears to be an early riser, and at 6am on weekends I will hear her dogs just barking up a storm as she walks past our house.

For some reason our house seems to be the meeting point of her and another neighbor who seem to be o the same dog walking schedule, and they walk different direction around the circle and meet in front of my house all too often. they will stop and chat and all 3 of the dogs will be barking like someone is butchering their owner. And they just chat over top of the dogs, like it's no big deal. Even with my doors and windows closed I can hear every detail of their conversation.

Our 100lb Rottie used to sit unchained on the side of the house watching all the people walking by and not move or bark, while these 2 dogs just barked and barked at her while being dragged down the road. It's one the reasons I don't like small dogs, they seem to have an inferiority complex.

Do you live on a private street? That is the only time i have ever seen a speed limit so low. Have you ever spoken to the dude? Maybe the next time you see him outside you should stop and talk to him and politely ask him why he yells at you, maybe he has a reason (lost a kid in an accident?, has a deaf child?, etc.).

You should follow him around one day, and record his speed and the posted speed limit everywhere he goes, then leave him the log in his mailbox.

Or worse yet ..... just stop for a second and say "Howdy neighbor!" with a huge smile.

Make a point to do it each and every time you see the guy out and about ..... no matter how he reacts to you.

You'll either make a friend or really drive him nuts.

I've seen one that read "17 MPH". no lie. Its on a little road in Bar Harbor (near Port Clinton) that goes between some small lake cottages before you get to the private big dollar houses that sit on the shore.

Our development was 18mph (for the last 10 years), until about 6 months ago they suddenly change to 20mph.

Some dirtbag moved in my complex right across the courtyard from me. Said dirtbag put a squealers flag in his front window and I see that every morning first thing when I leave home. Just frikken disgusting.

I've thought about firebombing him.

I agree with the inferiority complex thing of small dogs. I get into a lot of homes throughout the course of a day/week/month/year. In 8 years, only 1 time has a large dog caused me a problem. (actually drew blood by the way), but the small dogs always plan a sneak attack. If you look at them, they shy away and wait for you to turn your back.

Big dogs on the other hand? Some will bark when you get there, some don't even do that - but they watch you. It's almost like they're sizing you up, they realize "hey, I can take this guy down if anything I don't like goes on. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt."

Natural selection I think... if you're a little dog and meek, you're a squirrel. An angry big dog will eat you.

If you're a big dog and aggressive, people will see you as a threat and kill you.

Maybe?

I think they are only annoying "neighbours" if you live in Canada, otherwise I think in US they are annoying NEIGHBORS.

I guess I could see it both ways, he probably complains about you and says " this young punk who hot rods down the street like Don Garlits every day and puts my kids life in danger".

We have the crabby old man who calls the county sheriff on everybody, for everything(no police in our township). I am in a small neighborhood in a rural area and you have to drive down the street a block or two to get into woods where we ride our 4 wheelers. I understand technically this is illegal, but come on this guy was calling the sheriff on a daily basis but come to find out he has a grown son who moved out a few years ago and his son used to ride 4 wheelers all over the area. Eventually the sheriff had to warn him to stop calling them for BS or they were going to cite him.

I agree on the first part. The second part could be partially true, but I think it's more like this:

If you're a big dog, who the heck is going to mess with you? Might as well enjoy life

I am that neighbor. Here is the thing...You go way over the speed limit because you don't see any kids. The problem is that you might not be able to see one until he/she runs right out in front of your car. I have a couple of young kids that fly down my street. I have yelled at them to slow down. They do. It's not because I am big and scary but they realize that they are in the wrong.

We have some annoying neighbors as well (doesn't everybody?).

The people across the street enjoy standing on their front porch and smoking. Ok, that's fine, they can do what they want.

Well, they all hack like their lungs are going to come out. Then they spit their hacking crap in a very loud and disgusting manner.

If we leave our windows open, it sounds like someone is throwing up 3 times a night. I don't have a problem with people smoking or hacking up a lung, but for God's sake, go do it in your backyard. We literally don't open our windows overnight because of how disgusting it sounds when they're out there, not to mention being startled when they do it at 2 a.m.

The neighbors next to us are an extremely nice retired couple, but their total loser deadbeat grandson lives there, too. It's always enjoyable to hear him cussing someone out on his cell phone while he walks around in their driveway.

Another thing that's annoying in our neighborhood is that it's quickly being taken over by foreclosed/abandoned houses and also people who rent who don't care for the house. I know people who rent houses who keep the place in meticulous shape.

But there are more and more people moving in for just a few months at a time that park their cars in their lawn, keep all their crap in their yard, etc. It just looks trashy.

That might fly in some parts, but I just don't like it. I work hard so we can have a nice house, but 2 doors down there's a crappy rusted car in the yard (not parked in the garage because it's so packed full of crap, which you can see because the garage door is always up), with a ton of weeds and overgrown grass. Just looks like the people have no dignity whatsoever.

I have a neighbor that likes to mow his grass wearing only tennis shoes and his favorite two-tone nylon runners shorts with no shirt, even though he has C-cuppers. Its disturbing. I'd rather he was a speeder or oyster-hocker.

If you call going 20-25 in a 15mph when no one is around speeding(yes it is technically) but it's not like i'm going 50 man...come on now...how much diff does 20 compared to 15 make?

I live in condos....and for some absurd reason it's 15mph all over here...hate it

It's like some of you said...even if i take y foot off the GAS my car goes 15-20mph...i have to keep my foot on the freakin break to drive throguh my street? SCREW THAT....

I guarantee you do NOT have to keep your foot on the brake to go 15 miles an hour. If you do, something is wrong with your car.

Guaranteed. Unless you live on a street this is downhill both ways.
