Just listen to some of those xavier players in the presser. Their university should be embarassed they let these guys conduct a press conference. One player said their "gangstas, not thugs." They also talked about being disrespected, and where they come from, you fight back. It's bad enough this stuff happens, but to talk in front of the press, and defend that type of behavior is depolorable. All of those guys involved should be severely suspended if not kicked out. To think these morons get a free ride, is a joke.

More proof that Indiana is no longer a college basketball elite. Elite programs don't party in the streets after winning a game in December.

Indiana has been in a dark period for quite some time now. Many of their fans believe a win over the #1 team (by rankings at the time) signifies that they have returned to elite (I think that's too early).

So, why wouldn't they party?

You can't have it both ways.

You can't call yourself an elite program and party like you're VCU

i know. if there actually were rules like this, then what school would you go to:

schoolA - if you win, then you have to be bored. if you lose, then you have to be upset.

schoolB - you won't win quite as much, but you can go out and party hard after each one.

not celebrating after wins because you expect them is more for the players/team than it is for the fans.

I am trying to understand your logic.

If a team that is expected to win a championship shouldn't celebrate when they beat a team that is better, when can they celebrate at all?

Yeah, I mean if that was Ohio St or UNC or Duke or some other current high ranked team that won that game, I think that'd be a little ridiculous, but for a program that was once proud and has been down for what, 10 years? It was a big win.

Because somebody got his feelings hurt because his team lost and he doesn't like them rubbing salt into the wounds.

Nope. I expected to lose that game. I was over it about 3 minutes after Wattford hit the shot.

It's just sad and pathetic that a once proud and elite program has become the fan base that parties in the streets over a win in December.

Don't worry, if Kentucky fans ever do it, I'll call it sad and pathetic too

Time to get thompson in there over smith. Smith just doesnt do anything offensively and you have to get some production out of your two guard.

thats true...Theres a number of ways to look at the celebrating.

If Kentucky celebrated that hard after beating UNC a couple weeks back id have no problem with it. Celebrating is great. Enjoy a good win, you earned it you deserve it. If youre a fan, celebrate even harder because you dont have to be up to play the next day.

Let the team get back to business, you enjoy every win til the next game.

I'm hoping Raleigh has reason to celebrate like that tonight. #1 Cuse in the RBC! I wish they were playing this one at Reynolds Coliseum because that place just has so much history from when NCST was elite. This is our first big chance to get it.

Cuse on a true road game for the first time in December in a long time. Go Get em Pack

Butler will probably miss the tournament this year. However next year they will be scary good. Next years team will be more experienced combined with good athleticism. If they can keep Brad Stevens I expect another deep tournament run next year. They're only losing Ronald Nored but they're adding a 15+ point scorer in Rotnei Clarke (Arkansas transfer), and a lengthy scoring guard that looks like a shorter Gordon Hayward in Kellen Dunham (ESPNU Top 100).

I don't pay that much attention to rankings this early but isn't Butler ranked in the top 10? You think they won't make the top 64 at the end of the year?

They're 5-6 right now with some bad losses. Brad Stevens is letting a lot of young guys play right now.

Christian Hopkins
Roosevelt Jones
Khyle Marshall
Kameron Woods
Andrew Smith

With Stigall, Dunham and Clarke off the bench, that looks nice. None of these guys are big name players. However they are perfect for what Brad Stevens does and he is the best basketball coach in America at getting the best out of guys. He made Shelvin Mack and Gordan Heyward NBA players. He also made Matt Howard a beast. Now he is starting to recruit good athletes? Watch out.

My bad - I'm thinking Baylor

Like I said... I don't pay that much attention to college basketball in general (unless it's OSU or March).

It's all good

I just really like small schools like Butler becoming something. I just hope Brad Stevens stays at Butler and doesn't go to Duke or Kentucky because everyone knows big name schools will make him target #1.

You are correct, I'm hoping Conn hires him to be our next head coach when Calhoun eventually leaves (which I've been worried about happening for the past three years, especially since the year before we won the championship and the jerks on that team). I either want Brad Stevens or.............. Assisstant Coach Kevin Ollie (one of my fav. Huskies ever, along with Donyell Marshall, Ray, Kemba, Caron Butler, Rip, Ben Gordon, and Emeka Okafor).

Speaking of Conn, great win against the Holy Cross Crusaders yesterday! While it is a tiny team, anything to shut up those folks from Massachusetts. They all jump on the Harvard Band Wagon when Conn plays them, then they all jump on the Holy Cross Band Wagon. I'd like to just finish them off by playing UMass, BC, MIT, BU and Northeastern. May be UMass-Lowell too. In your face Mass. Super Fans!

But Conn does look like we're getting better. Unfortunately, our non-conf competition reminds me of Ohio State's last year. Pretty darn lame. Where is our games against Kentucky, UNC, Duke, Kansas, or Ohio State. Those are the teams that I want to play! Not Harvard, Arkansas, Tennessee. Man I hate our Athletic Director. He sucks. Jeff Hathaway (our Athletic Director), to be the best you've gotta play the best, ya moron.

Once again though, I think we're as good as any team in the NCAA. In fact I'll make a sig bet with anyone on here. If my team wins another championship, you do a sig that i want, and if your team wins a championship, we'll use your team's sig. Any other team, PUSH

Is this a jab at the Huskies? Because we're the national champs and you rocked that 12 year old girl signature last year

DING DING DING!!

Besides that they are college kids, they dont need much of a reason to party.

Fairfield is frequently in the NCAA tourney and we haven't lost to them since I began watching them.

Anyway, a wins a win and it's still early in the season. Laugh all you want about a struggle before Big East play against Fairfield.

I'm much more nervous about the 4 upcoming games without Calhoun. I hate his assistant coach who coaches the games. Game coaching duties should be given to Kevin Ollie (ex-Conn PG extraordinaire). It's a long season though, and there will def be some struggles.

But I'm confident, come the end of the Big East Tourney, will have it together and be as prepared as any team for a tourney run.

I'll make another sig bet with you CandyMan, as I put up here before, my Huskies, your Buckeyes. Whoever wins the tourney, the other has to do another stupid sig for a month. Any other team, and it's a push.

That goes for you too TopDawg. Bring on those Wild Kittens (whom we handled twice last year), we'll give you a silly sig too. DC and that Duke fan on the board, (or anyone else who wants in), you can be in too

Touche, somehow I must be remembering back to 1997 then.......... But it makes sense, because Iona and Manhattan College are in the same conference.

As for Pitt losing to Wagner........ Looks like Pitt couldn't make shots and Wagner was making all of theirs. Bad games sometimes happen. Good for Wagner though.

Call us the "Big Least" all you want, Syracuse is still ranked number 1 (although they're leaving the Big East soon, come on Syracuse! Just threw out one of the best college ball rivalries!) and Conn won the championship last year...........
