At least a short season increases the odds of the Cavaliers getting another high draft pick next season.

Which I anticipate, especially with a short season.
It would seem more likely that this team will take a while to come together, and that they could be a late run type team, which could screw up draft slotting. (if there was a full season) However, a shortened season makes it more likely (IMHO) that we will struggle for most of the season, and will again hit a high draft slot.
Wouldn't it tick a whole lot of people off if we got another #1 overall .....?

You can thank the dumb Clippers for that #1 pick.

About time. Hopefully Baron Davis doesn't show up to camp 50 lbs over weight and we can trade pwn another team with him into another #1 overall pick. I'm really looking forward to seeing Irving this season.

J/C...
Have the Cavs said anything about who is going to be replacing Joe Tait at the mic this season? I haven't even heard any rumors about it.

If the Heat do end up winning the championship this year, at least their will be an * next to them in the record books.
You know, I'm over it. I really am. Last year's Finals were really cathartic for me.
I'll still root against him, but if he gets titles, so be it.
Watching him throw up on himself in the Finals was more than enough for me.

I just want to know if they're going to go to a 2 year rule or if the 1 and done is going to stay.

nah, it just got swept under the rug with all the big sports news in october. that's a pretty busy month with the nfl, ncaa, nhl, and world series.

I'm hoping for two. I don't think it's right that they have an age limit in the first place, but I'm greedy and I think it improves the NBA and obviously college basketball becomes better.

What exactly did this whole lockout solve?
One week later - Paul wants to play in NY... Howard wants to be in NJ/Brooklyn... LAL wants them both.

It was never about the fans or the small markets. There's still a cap, they say it will be harder for players to leave because either the sign n trade is gone or is limited.
If a player wants to go, he's going to go though. No commissioner can stop that. Same goes for all sports. If Aaron Rodgers wanted to leave Green Bay, he knows the route he'd have to take. free agency, franchise tag, free agent market. For the record I don't think a franchise tag that delays a basketball player from leaving his current team for one year is going to do anything.
I'm all for no sign and trade. If you want to leave, you sign your own deal and don't get the perks of the one you would have gotten had you stayed.
If you scroll up throught his topic though, I posted an excellent breakdown from one of bspn's basketball people. It's about as readable as it gets for that kind of stuff.
Anyone hear this Lebron interview? My God could they being trying any harder to play this kid back up? We all know how much they love him, how they pushed him out of Cleveland, and then went nonstop Lebron coverage. I guess whatever pushes the needle right? It's almost like dressing up your drunk/drugged out uncle for thanksgiving dinner or a job interview. It's too little, too late.
Who cares though, the Cavs are back. Schedule is out, and I can't wait to watch Kyrie Irving play. I really hope the NBA gives out the league pass for free this year. Fans deserve it.

part of getting this deal done was not having alot of these penalties start in until year3. the year after Dwight and CP3 are UFAs.

I can just see Stern and his cohorts, after Dwight goes to LA and CP3 goes to NY, and maybe the Bulls get someone else's star player.
"OK NO MORE, GUYS, NO MORE SHIFTING AND MOVING AROUND!"
meanwhile, the NBA is set up for dominance in all their major markets through this current CBA.
Oh wait, the Celtics need to get theirs... Big 3 won't make it through the next few years...

yep, that is pretty much it.
don't forget the Celtics are shopping Rondo for CP3 right now. so, there's a chance they set theirs up in this timeframe too.

Big fail on LBJ. Art Modell and Horseface elway still can't get a drink in Cleveland. We're never going to welcome him back or cheer for him again. He needs to realize this and move on. lol at "villain" role messing with his head though, can't wait for his next excuse when they dont win this season either.

j/c i like how the Clippers can make including Eric Gordon a deal-breaker for CP3. how does this sound for the Hornets http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/732594...hris-paul-tradeQuote:
The players that the Clippers have made available to the Hornets, sources say, include center Chris Kaman and youngsters Eric Bledsoe and Al-Farouq Aminu.
sigh. oh well, better to talk NBA trade silliness than lockout shenanigans.

Can't wait for Boston fans to do what they do best, slam every guy that leaves their team. "RAWNDO WASN'T THAT GOOD, HE WAS NO BOB COUSY!"
Conversely, any player coming into Boston via trade or free agency, is automatically the best at their position, and will make whatever Boston team the best in the league.

Ya know, I don't care anymore. I don't care for an apology. I think deep down, he really does regret the way everything went down. Maybe he even regrets the move in the first place.
Nobody cares down there. Sure the Cavs would have never been bigger than the Browns despite the fact that the Browns are horrible, but the Cavs were still huge. They were much bigger than the Tribe in the years that Lebron was around. It was a big thing. Going downtown to the game was the thing to do. People cared, the crowds were wild, he ran the town.
Down there, nobody cares. They get half interested if it's the playoffs. The finals in Miami were overrun with Mavs fans.
I can watch Lebron play and not get mad or anything, it's done with. I've been kicked in the jewels too many times as a Cleveland fan that I can get over those kinds of things quickly.
I'm still not over the Browns moving though. That's the one that will never go away. I will take that to my grave. There's nothing Art Modell's wrinkly old ass could say to me to make me feel differently.
If Lebron said to me, or even to us as a fanbase. "Hey I'm sorry, I should have done it differently, I apologize" That's good enough for me. I don't need that, but if he said it, that's fine.
I don't even know if I'd boo at him at a game more than I'd boo any other opposing player. I'm more excited about the Cavs than I am about booing Lebron. I actually hate Dwyane Wade more. (I've hated him pretty much since he came in the league)

Amen. I'm over it too as well but I will never like him and don't ever expect me to like him, cheer for him, be happy for him if he wins a championship. I think that's what he wants which he'll never get.

If he wins a championship, good for him. Doesn't take away from the fact that he quit on his team in Cleveland. Like I said, I'm over it, but that is a scar on him that will never go away. Well, unless he comes back and wins a championship.
He can win all the championships he wants, but people, not even Clevelanders, will not look at him the same way he he stayed in Cleveland and won them.

quite possibly. but, if Chris Paul is willing to do the extension, then you trade him for the known commodity. instead, the Clips think they can get Chris Paul for basically free (don't blame them with some of the trades that happen, but hope NO holds more firm than that)
at the very least, if they don't lose Gordon, they better give up Minny's 2012 unprotected pick.

Chris Paul and Kobe together? sigh. and why would NO not want Pau back? they want Kevin Martin more? shouldn't the Clippers just offer Minny's unprotected 2012 1st rounder and steal him from the Lakers? Quote:
The Lakers, Hornets and Rockets are discussing a three-way trade that would send Chris Paul to L.A. and Pau Gasol to Houston, league sources told SI.com. The package New Orleans would receive is unclear, but a source said it would likely involve Rockets swingman Kevin Martin and multiple draft picks.

oh, and in that same article they also mention that the reason the Lakers are not offering Bynum is so they could use him with Odom to trade for Dwight Howard.
yeah, Paul, Kobe, and Dwight. that might be what would get me to stop watching the NBA. maybe. (doubtful that all happens though)

I love how after one so/so season, all Laker fans hate Pau. I know he's kinda soft, but the dude is an awesome player.
I already have Celtic fans on my facebook timeline thinking they are getting cp3, and admitting he's better than Rondo. About a year after they were all saying Rondo was the best PG in the league. LMAO

that's what the nba wants. it wants the lakers, knicks, celtics, bulls and heat to dominate. Just like the glory years 30 years ago. Everyone else to be bottom feeders.

Do we still have that exception we got from Lebron?
Do the Cavs plan on doing anything?
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Big time.
And you might as well throw NO in there also as they needed the compensation since the guy is walking at the end of the year anyway.
