Jerome Harrison was traded to the Eagles for another RB at the trade deadline.

Again.

2 straight years in a league with very few in-season trades. Weird.

Obviously this proves how great he is...

I mean, Philly let him walk, and they started horribly... So they felt the need to trade for him to get back to where they were last year...

Trade voided, problems with Harrison's physical

(RotoWire) The Eagles have voided the trade which would send Brown to Detroit over problems in Jerome Harrison's (the player going back to Philadelphia) physical, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Analysis: For those counting on Ronnie Brown as Jahvid Best insurance, it's probably time to pick up Maurice Morris instead. Brown heads back to the bench in Philadelphia, where he'll see a few touches per game at the most.

Jerome Harrison showed up for his physical and the Eagles suddenly remembered him and stamped him "return to sender"

Even with the voided trade it makes me wonder....we trade Harrison for Bell after Harrison had a good year and the Lions were to get Ronnie Brown and a pick after a bad year??

Sounds like Heckert sold cheap.

I'm still a little confused by us getting rid of Harrison in the first place. I mean, he finally got his chance to play in the year before last and did a decent job of it.

Then Poof, he's gone to Philly... and we get Mike Bell? Then we don't think enough of him to resign him. Color me confused.

I really liked Armond Smith in Preseason (minus those fumbles) but we dump him for a guy that, statistically speaking, has no business in the NFL

You forgot to take off your Brown and Orange glasses.

Too many people fell for a short burst of production from Harrison, believing he had arrived and would be a very productive back for us. He was soft for an NFL back, and was oft-injured if I remember correctly. The fact he's been bouncing around from team-to-team tells you all you need to know man: Harrison wasn't a back you could rely on, and is just another warm body. Just like Mike Bell.

People fell in love with the bursts we saw from "Glass Joe" Lee Suggs and wanted to keep marching him out there. He was never able to stay healthy enough to be reliable, and ended up out of the league very quickly, in spite of a short burst of production.........just like Harrison.

One of these days you're going to have to trust my judgments, D.

well, Jerome Harrison is happy he as traded now.

As Philadelphia Eagles doctors were giving newly acquired running back Jerome Harrison his physical, they discovered a brain tumor that nullified a trade with the Detroit Lions, according to two league sources.

The trade might have might have actually saved Harrison's life, the sources said. Without the deal being made, Harrison would not have undergone a physical. The tumor is now being treated, according to sources.

Wow, I'm glad they found it, and hopefully in time for him to have a full recovery.

He's got a 4.7 ypc career rush average and 7 yards per reception. That's pretty good.

1) Yup, I wasn't big on Harrison. Not a good blocker, injury prone, soft.

2) You don't have to ask me, just ask all the teams that that have given him exactly 85 carries in three seasons, in SPITE of those numbers. Three former teams in three years says.....well......you know exactly what it says.

I don't ever really remember the guy having a lot of injury problems.

You may as well have set up a cardboard cutout in terms of his blocking, which is why I think he saw little of the field, but I don't remember him being injury prone.

Wow - a brain tumor is why he failed the physical.

The reason for Jerome Harrison's(notes) failed physical, the one that voided the trade between the Lions and Eagles, was a brain tumor, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions agreed to a trade on Tuesday that would've sent Harrison to Philadelphia. A day later, however, the trade was voided when Harrison did not pass a physical.

Here's the tweet from Schefter:
Without trade, Jerome Harrison doesn't get physical. Without physical, doctors don't find brain tumor. Trade might have saved his life.
We don't yet know of a definitive prognosis for Harrison, but Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com says that the tumor is "considered treatable and not life-threatening." He also says Harrison wouldn't play again this year.
Obviously, we wish the best for Harrison. Treatable or not, the term "brain tumor" is horrifying, and must've come as an unbelievable shock to the guy.
This is the worst kind of news, and obviously, there's nothing good about it. As Schefter points out, though, it's not hard to see the trade as a blessing. A physical is mandatory when you're traded in the NFL, and without it, maybe doctor's don't find the tumor until much, much later.

Well, the great news is that it is treatable, and not considered life threatening. That is more important than any other factor. (and really, every other factor)

They weren't ever major injuries, just things that kept him from practicing, and knicks that kept sending him to the sidelines. It was a thigh injury that started the Hillis run of 2010. It's worth noting that Harrison was never listed on the injury report that week.

And yeah, most "cardboard cutouts" could do more damage than he did, hehe.

I'm glad he's going to be ok.
