That's right .... I was thinking of Edge, not Faulk. Faulk was there for a pair of 3-13 seasons ... one prior to Manning, and Manning's 1st season.

Faulk had his best year yardage and average-wise (to that point) in his lone season with Manning.

Harrison played 2 years prior to Manning.

His first 3 years went ....

64-836, 8 TD
73-866, 6 TD

In Manning's rookie year he went for
59-776, 7 TD

Then he exploded.

115-1663, 12 TD
102-1443, 14 TD
109-1524, 15 TD
143-1722, 11 TD
94-1272, 10 TD
He then also had 3 more seasons of 1100 + yards and 15, 12, and 12 TD receptions.

He then got hurt, and played only limited games.

I am curious to see how many people think that Harrison would have had those same stats with any other QB. Does anyone think that a guy like McCoy would get him even halfway there? I don't.

I don't think anyone is arguing that Manning didn't inflate their numbers.

But to act like they were nobody and Peyton Manning made them into somebody is just inaccurate.

No one is saying that great players would be nobodies without a great QB. They would be decent players .... well thought of ... but Harrison would never have done what he did if he had played with any of 30 other QBs who played in the NFL during his career. He would have been a reliable receiver .... pretty good ...... maybe an Anquan Bolden type of the past 5 years or so ..... but he would not have been the Marvin Harrison we know today.

Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?
