I know its slow and I just wanted to throw this out there. Has anyone else noticed that when ESPN or ESPNNEWS or the NFL channel decided to highlight a certain player there is always a clip of the player playing against the Browns. I've noticed it for a while now, but it is becoming embarassing. Right now with players moving around the league everyone wants to show highlights of the players and I think they go right to the Browns games to pull film clips from. Randy Moss catching a touchdown pass. Thomas putting Frye on his back. Lewis bustin' a run. The list goes on and on. I realize that we aren't very good and people make plays on us, but its rediculous the amount of time we are used. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

I can't comment on ESPN becuase I don't get it with my cable package. On the other hand, I do get the NFL Network and I've noticed it there. Of course, maybe we're all paranoid.

I've noticed it
But I thought why would they show us if they want to show the player as being good they should show him tearing up the bears or colts not the lowly browns

Oh ya, we suck so I mean big plays are like our thing. *L* Not making them, giving them up. SO ya when you suck as bad as we have for so long.....you gonna make highlight reels. I used to have a chip on my shoulder about it until I realized that. The one that sticks out in my mind was the super snowy day at CBS when Eddie George broke that big run in the snow covered feild.... I swear, I see that play in my nightmares.

Yes, we do suck. But the NFL hates us. Did you see Adalius Thomas sacking Charlie, picking him up and throwing him down? And no flag.
Yup. They hate us.

As the team turns around so will the clips! I do not watch a lot of college football other then Ohio State.............but I feel if we draft Thomas at OL and then go after a couple of stud DL..........and sign Pittman to our RB squad.............we will be on our way to turning it around next season! I would still like to see a decent FA signing.............but not sure who else is available without spending to much cash! I just picture Shaffer, Stienbach, Fraley, Thomas, and Tucker as a pretty decent OL.....................much better then many years! That line alone would produce more offensive plays................that would get the medias attention! Especially after a whole lot more victories! This is the year to turn it around and I have a feeling that Phil has the plan to do so! But what the hell do I know...............I have been saying this for years! We do have Wimbley! GO BROWNS!

Nah, you're not paranoid... Almost everybody I know who's a fan notices the same thing. Bottom line is, the Browns' spectacular failures become highlight reels for our opponents. I look forward to the day THAT situation gets reversed (I just hope I'm alive and not too old to notice when it does).

First of all, we make teams look good. When ESPN shows highlights, they show the highlights that make the team they are talking about look good... it's our own fault for making them look so good.
Second, I don't know if we actually are shown more than any other team, but that we notice it because it is our team. Do you really pay attention to how much they show negative highlights of other teams? Of course not, so who's to say we get shown more?

thats interesting ive been sayin this for a while...
Weirdly enough though, back in the day until Marino retired i was a Miami fan and it was the same way back then.
Maybe I'm bad luck for teams and being on the bad side of highlights

Wow, funny you post this today... I've always noticed how we're dissed that way, but today I was watching around the league on the NFL site and saw the Randy Moss piece you're talking about and thought, "Here we go again". Later it went to a piece about Trent Green and guess which is one of the teams is he burns with a TD pass. Go ahead, guess...

I've noticed that too. Randy Moss and Dre Bly are the first two guys to pop into mind.

And you guys say we are never on ESPN. As I term it to people, we are always someone else's highlight.

Makes me grind my teeth because I have seen it too. We stunk it up in about every possible way last year. Like you rarely see OakClan Braiders, y'know? Anybody wanna guess the length of last year's highlight reel? Other teams' reels are probably longer than ours and has more footage of us than our own has. Glad to see OL choosing. Use the Draft, Phil! And may the Elf be with you!

One minute people complain we don't get any media attention, then next they complain we do.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.
