That's when you rush the field, when you score an upset.

Normally I'd say they shouldn't have, but it's been a long year. Buckeye fans have had their program be the butt of a lot of jokes, everyone has taken their shot now that they finally had some ammunition. Screw it. (besides, it was only the student section not half the stadium like in 2002 and 2006)

It's nowhere near as bad as Wisconsin fans chanting overrated last year, and then storming the floor and the court like they just beat the 85 bears and the michael jordan bulls.

People in Wisconsin are douchey and stupid. They're also incredibly fat.

Dunno Candy .... I think if we beat Michigan and play competitively in the others then Luke stays. It's this Whisky win that makes all the difference imo. We were expected to beat Purdue and Indiana regardless of the Badger game and it would be a big let down to lose either, but undoubtedly Wisconsin and Michigan are the big games on our schedule.

What an incredible game. I am just starting to get my voice back today. When Jordan brought the ball out beyond the 40 I thought we might just have a chance to get a FG and go to OT. Then Braxton pulled off what I'm calling, "The Miami Valley Miracle".

I HATE people from Wisconsin, they're as big of pricks as Pittsburgh fans. I hate all of their teams. I was thrilled to see the Brewers lose. I hope the Packers get smoked in the playoffs by Brees.

Agreed! Props to Buckeyes and Miller! Nailbiter that. Stop giving away leads. OLine took it over the top IMO>

Me too, although i have to admit I like the Packers team and Rodgers (was a huge Favre hater, even when the entire world loved him) I just can't stand their fans.

I have a few buddies that live up in Milwaukee, and they're always taking shots at Cleveland, and it's like "Hey dude, you live in Milwaukee"

It's funny they let me have it when LBJ bolted Cleveland yet they were always never around when the Cavs were kicking their ass for 7 years. Funny, that's people from Wisconsin in a nutshell.

Ohio State should NEVER rush the field. Period.

It should never be a "surprise" when Ohio State wins. You're Ohio State, you should expect to win.

I killed North Carolina for rushing the court in basketball when they beat Duke, I'm going to kill Ohio State for doing it Saturday.

Act like you've been there before.

"This is what Ohio State's about," interim coach Luke Fickell said. "We don't ever look at ourselves as underdogs. This is a huge win, a signature win. This is for this team, this is for this program. This is what we expect."

THIS IS WHAT WE EXPECT.

Storming the field is pathetic.

It was a good win, and you should be excited, but this is right up there with North Carolina storming the court in basketball.

Fact: Ohio State has the best defense in the country.

You're not even the best defense in the Big Ten lol.

You should be excited, Ohio State has looked better the last couple weeks than anyone expected them to, but easy.

To say your defense is better than Alabama and LSU is laughable.

I'm not saying Ohio State's defense isn't good, because they are. Real good.

They are a Top 10 defense for sure.

But, when I watch the two teams play, I see the Michigan State defense way ahead of Ohio States.

Ohio State's defense is top 5. I think they're better than MSU.

Better than LSU and Alabama? Can't go there.

So are we going to get a ruling any time soon on whether or not Ohio State gets to play beyond November?

The way it is shaping up, they might just control their own destiny to the title game. Penn State is undefeated in the Leaders, but they have not yet played a tough game in the B10. If Ohio State can win out, and someone other than OSU can beat Penn St. as well, then OSU gets in. Luckily for OSU their 2 losses in the B10 came out of division.

It really looks like it is shaping up to be a Luck vs Bama/LSU showdown in January.

I have no problem with that either, think about the aftermath in terms of NFL and NFL draft if Luck gets demolished by one of those defenses. I'm not saying it's going to happen, I'm just saying think about the way things could play out.

I rushed the field when we beat #2Michigan and secured a spot in the national championship. So it would have to be a big game, not a good win.

My point, again, would be ... You're Ohio State. You should expect to get into National Championship games, and beat top 5 teams, and beat Michigan.

Celebrate, cheer, stay off the field.

Rushing the field is for Temple, not Ohio State.

At the time, Michigan was the thorn in their side. That was an emotional day, For as great of a program Ohio State was and still is, they had gone some 30+ years without a championship. That's a long time for a team that literally competes year in and year out. I know it's NCAA football and you don't have that clear path to the championship like every other sport, but it's still a long time between being able to say you are the champion of college football.

Doesn't matter. You're still Ohio State.

I'll never agree with Ohio State storming the field.

Just like Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, USC, etc. should never storm the field.

Just like North Carolina, Kentucky, Duke, UCLA, Indiana, etc. should never storm the court in basketball.

Act like you're supposed to be there, because you are.

To the buckeye fan.....this is not 2006 and we are not #1....hell we aren't even ranked.....get with the program. This was a HUGE win for OSU. this is not the tressel team that we came to expect undefeated seasons from. Wisconsin had a legit shot at beating us and we were the underdogs(a fact)

If you were at that game you would understand why people rushed the field. I expect you to understand all this...can't believe i have to explain why we stormed the field after beating WISKY who beat us last year when we were #1 and then their coach said "deal with it" They have beat us a ton in the last few years....if i had to rank teams i hate in the Big Ten it would go MI then WI for sure!

And to TOP.....okay bud....this is NOT basketball....it's football where every win matters. We are not a top 5 team rushing the field after beating a #15. Luke expects his team to win every game(that's what a coach is supposed to say)
If I told you that i think OSU can win every game on it's schedule u would laugh at me and call me a homer. So don't give me BS for knowing that we were underdogs and that win was no gimmie....we weren't even ranked in the top 40 as far as i know....and we just beat a team that was in the TOP 5 the week before and that beat us last year when we were #1.... if you still think it was crazy then so be it....i'm happy with the way things turned out.

TOP i know you are trying real hard to sound unbiased...but man o man...u can't let go..u just HAVE to nit-pick on things OSU does....it's pretty hilarious sometimes....

I guess i should expect OSU to win the national title next year according to you then.

You shoud expect to be in contention, yes.

I can't believe the people on here defending storming the field?

Almost every Ohio State fan I know agrees that it was dumb to storm the field, because YOU ARE OHIO STATE. No win is big enough to warrant storming the field.

As for bashing Ohio State, not really, I'm saying you shouldn't storm the field, because YOU ARE ABOVE IT. (Or should be, anyway).

I'm bashing your fans for acting like you've never been there before, not Ohio State.

I'm not saying you WILL be in contention.

I'm saying you, as a fan, should expect to be.

You're Ohio State, you should except nothing less than to be in contention.

Do you think USC will be in contention next year? I don't.

Do their fans expect to find a way to compete? They should.

If USC isn't in contention and they beat Oregon, are they going to storm the field? I doubt it. And if they do, I'll blast them for it, too.

I'll send out a press release so all the USC fans won't have the wrath of TopDawg coming down on them.

All this coming from the guy that said taking Wisconsin -7 was the lock of the week.

The fans were excited, we are in a down year. No one gave us a shot at wining that game. The investigations and scandals and the probable sanctions looming over this program is a dark cloud I don't blame fans for being excited and basking in the win. And I'm sure no one that was on that field cares about your or anyone else's opinion.

Geez, I have a 4 for 5 weekend, and you guys think I care about losing the Wisconsin game? lol.

Storming the field was pathetic, most rational fans agree.

You're Ohio State, save storming the field for Minnesota.

Man ... talk about trying to turn a non issue into some sort of indictment ......

Super tough year for OSU fans, with multiple suspensions, an incredibly popular coach all but fired, the QB we counted on for this year bolting when the fire got too hot .... and then we go out and beat an "unbeatable" team, on homecoming to boot.

Yeah ..... let's go get those fans kicked out of school too for being too excited under those circumstances .......

I don't care about your betting, I was commenting on how even you didn't give us a chance to win. And again your and who ever these "rational fans" are opinions mean absolutely nothing.

Fact is OSU is in a down year, they were underdogs, given no show to win and they did. Who cares that they stormed the field?

I think it's funny.

Other boards are laughing at OSU fans.

If it was UK and basketball, I'd be embarrassed.

I just find it odd that most people on here are okay with it.

I wouldn't be.

Well, wonderful ... don't be fine with it.

No one else is all that concerned about it.

You can just be glad that you're not a Buckeyes fan then.

We're all glad about that.

The point remains, I blasted North Carolina basketball, Indiana basketball, Wisconsin basketball, hell I even blasted Wisconsin football for rushing the field after beating Ohio State in football last year.

There was a lot of agreement.

Why not the agreement when Ohio State does it?

Great for you and the other boards you go on. Everyone I talk to feels differently. Hell I've even had ND fans from some of my vendors call me yesterday and told me how great of a win it was for the program, coach and fans.

If you can't recognize the circumstances that we are in a down year. Huge black cloud looming over everything. Playing badly offensively in Miami and Mich St. Having a huge lead against Nebraska and giving it away. Have another two score lead against Wisconsin with 5:00 left in the game and giving that away. On a broken up play we score a TD to give us a lead with :20 left. On the ensuing kick off kick the ball out of bounds to give them the ball at the 40 before finally stopping them and wining the game. If you can't understand the significance of the situation then IMO you're letting your bias against OSU blind you.

I'm an OSU homer but i agree with Top on this. While i don't find it to be that big a deal the only time you should rush the field is if you just won a championship game or pulled off a huge upset and this game while an upset it wasn't huge.

Sounds like you are having trouble sleeping after rushing the field. No worries man, it's not a big deal.

I don't blast anyone for rushing the field.

If the school is OK with it, then carry on. It's college athletics. We can be jaded about our pro teams.

In fact, I said, "This was a big win, you should be excited"

But, some teams should never rush the field/court. Ohio State is one of them.

I find it sad and pathetic, and I'll continue to blast any major fanbase that does it. And right now, Ohio State is the most recent to show that pathetic-ness

And to Free Agent, Notre Dame fans wouldn't have a problem with it, because they are just as pathetic (vs. USC and Utah a few years ago)
