To all of those that are serving or have ever served thier country: This Navy Vet wishes to say Thank You, without your services we could not enjoy our freedoms.
To all of the veterans, and all of those currently serving, thank you for being the protectors of all we hold dear, and the defenders of this country, and all of her citizens. Any and all good that we do as a country is because of our strength and security, and that strength and security comes from your fortitude and sacrifice.
Thank you all for your service, and for helping ensure that we can live in freedom and security.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

My daughters 3rd grade chorus had a show yesterday day morning that I took some time off to see. I was very impressed. For all of the things that are stated about the PCness of our schools and the bad rap they get along those lines, this show was very well done. My daughters school looks like the UN with white kids, black kids, Asian kids from a variety of countries, Latino kids from a variety of countries, etc... and this show was unapologetic in it's display of pride in being an American and celebrating the great things our military has done going all the way back to WWI. They had a guest speaker who was a Master Sgt who had done 2 tours in Iraq, they had the color guard from the local high school present the colors, they had anybody who had served stand and be recognized, or the family of those who have served, the chorus sang The Star Spangled Banner, God Bless America, a medley of the various songs from each branch of service, and a song called American Tears.. Attached below is a link to the song and this is the video they showed while the kids sang it. Among the adults there were very few dry eyes in the place.

A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT...to my son, who just finished 20 yrs in the U.S. Navy...way to go "mac"...thank you!
Happy Veterans day to everyone who's served. This is a great holiday. Observe those who's lives are dedicated to doing what they can to protect this country and make it what it is.
Whether you agree with what wars we fight is irrelevant, those that go fight dont choose the wars, they go execute the plans laid by those above them and us, and do it with bravery and valor. Their actions protect what we hold dear.
One of my best friends is/was a marine and every time i see him i cant help but look up to him, like hes done something better...something i wouldnt have the courage to do.
To all veterans thank you.
And i cant wait to watch the Carrier Classic tonight! go sparty
"It has to start somewhere It has to start somehow What better place than here? What better time than now?"
Happy Veterans Day to all vets, past, present and future.
I'm not at all ashamed to say that every time I'm at a funeral for a veteran and they play taps and present the flag, the tears are flowing, even if I don't know the deceased very well.
To honor Veterans Day, Browns players and staff members visited with the USO (United Service Organization) and newly sworn in recruits at the Cleveland Military Entrance Processing Station this week.
Browns center Alex Mack, tight end Jordan Cameron and linebackers D'Qwell Jackson and Quinton Spears were among those who toured the facility and learned about the process of signing up to serve.
"It’s humbling to see these people commit to serve our country and see them go through that with their families here to support them," said Mack, who understands military life after watching his father serve in the Army and one of his cousins join the Air Force.
"Just to know what they’re signing up for, four to six years of their life, putting their lives on the line, it’s very humbling to see these people move onto the next step of their lives. It’s very incredible training and they get to do very amazing things. It’s a big honor, a very important deal. There’s just so many emotions involved."
The players signed autographs and signed pictures with the recruits and their families, according to the team's website. They also watched a swearing-in ceremony where 31 men and women took the oath to “defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”
“I’ve never had a chance to actually see anything like this before," Jackson said. "The biggest surprise for me was how young the kids were, they’re high school seniors. At that age you don’t really know what direction you want to go; your life hasn’t even started yet. For a young man or woman to decide they want to go to boot camp for six weeks, leave their family, leave their friends, it’s a great compliment to who they are. It’s a great commitment by those youngsters. I’m always appreciative of the troops and I think we all should be.”
Last Saturday, the Browns also teamed with their medical partners to offer free health screenings at their stadium.
On a side note - this holiday would be better served, in my opinion - if instead of just banks and the post office getting the day off - if ALL veterans got the day off, paid, regardless of where they work.

I have not always agreed with you, but I have respected your views. Today, any and all respect I had for you is completely gone. I seriously doubt you believe in what you are saying and mostly doing it for some lame attempt at attention. There is other ways to gain attention than by trying to ... on those that have fought and died for this country.
The guy has said he smiles every time he hears a cop gets killed. I don't get why some of you seem at all surprised by this....and even more surprised at how many people mention they had respect for him up to this point.
Quote: Screw Veterans Day...what a bogus holiday......
I'm a vet.. and I would really like to know why you think that...
War sucks...I wish there was peace among the world...Would you prefer to live in a country that the leaders take your family away and torture and kill them...do you want to starve to death because the leader of the country doesn't give a damn about you..
Bury 20 friends from fighting for your freedom...Not so bogus...I'm going to stop now.... it's best before I get nasty.....
I figured it was just a post for shock value. Take the opposing view of the average citizen of this country that supports our veterans just so people would talk about him. Very much like the time he posted as his own nephew.
It's a pretty pathetic cry for attention and if his life is this sad that he has to resort to this, he has much bigger problems than folks coming down on him on a message board.
To all veterans, thank you for all you did or are doing. You're hero's, to most of us anyway. The others, who cares...
I have never paid a lot of attention to the stuff in the tailgate and I have never read anything like that crap from him. It is usually just whinning about drugs and stuff from him. Anyway I was taught early on to treat everyone with respect, until they give you a reason not to do so.
This stuff however, I take personal. The people I looked up to when growing up were WW2 vets. Many of them grew up together and served together in France and Belgium and I would listen to them talk when they got together, often when they would have a few shots under their belt lol. All those guys are gone now and this is a day to remember them.
A lot of the men in my family are Vietnam Vets. I joined the Army when I was 17. I still have friends serving in Iraq and Alfghanistan.
