Man, asking Braxton Miller to win you the game with his arm is like asking Superman to save the world with a big chunk of Kryptonite in his pocket.

I guess you missed the wisconsin game

Nah. Tossing a Hail Mary =/= winning a game with your arm.

Are you really going to argue that Braxton Miller is anything close to being a good passing quarterback, one that you want trying to pass your way down the field to win a game?

Miller is either going to have to really bust his ass to improve his passing or hope that Urban Meyer just runs the same offense he did with Tebow, because as it stands now he sucks at throwing, plain and simple. Buckeye honks might need to prepare themselves to admit that they were sold a bill of goods on Braxton Miller.

Congrats to the UM fans on the board. College ball is much better when UM and OSU are both at the top of their game, so hopefully we can get a turn around next year and get back to the top of the Big Ten with ya'll.

Overall it was a great game. Back and forth between two very talented QBs. Lots of mistakes on both sides of the ball and in the end it was the Veteran Robinson who pulled off the victory.

I had a feeling we were going to lose (this is the worst OSU season in like 15 years) so it's a bit easier to swallow. Hopefully we can get our act together next year.

Good luck in your bowl game. As always I will be cheering for y'all in the bowl...

Get out of here with that.

Braxton bailed out our sorry ass defense and offensive line this year.

With his legs.

Everyone is hoping so badly for Miller to be the anti-Pryor that they can't see that he's mediocre at best and has a tremendously long way to go to be a QB for a top college program.

No, its not a coincidence. But better is a relative term.

Then again, his completion % in the first 10 games? .500. In the last 2? .500.

A competent passer would've picked apart Michigan's weak secondary today. To be fair, he's able to do things running that a lot of QBs simply can't. But if I have to pick between a QB that can run and a QB that can pass, I'll take the passer every time.

Hey, hopefully he can improve. All I'm saying is that right now he has a long way to go.

Congrats UM.

Enjoy this one. You got us at our very worst in decades, you have a 10 win team, and you still barely scraped out a win.

Next year will return to the norm.

Well. It could have been more embarrasing.
Braxton could have hit all those long balls for 4 more TD's.
Then all the UofM fans would have rushed home.

There was so much wrong with the team this year.

- No leadership
- Lack of experience
- Horrible coaching
- Really bad offense that was inconsistant at best
- Defense looked awful at times
- Special teams was shaky all year with Hall returning or Basil kicking

Finally home......Great game, although much closer than it needed to be.

I still just scratch my head at some of these replay rulings. When you don't have a camera down the goal line, how can you guesstemate where the ball is?

There was a view behind the goal line that looked like he was clearly in, a view in front of the goal line that looked like he was clearly out. How do you then calculate that those things added up to enough to overturn a TD on the field? They have a rocket scientist crunching the numbers?

There is absolutely NO WAY that call should have been overturned. If you don't have the right camera angle, you can't change the call. I don't even want to get in to the gambling implications here. It just all seemed very, very fishy. These replay officials need to be reevaluated IMO.

I'll certainly acknowledge that Miller missed some big plays but Michigan also made a lot of stupid mistakes to keep OSU in the game. The dropped punt, the fumble and the blown coverage handed OSU 17 points. It was those points / momentum that kept them in the game. So if you want to point out OSU's misses, you have to point out UM's as well. They did plenty to assist the OSU offense today. At the end of the day, all things seemed equal.

I suppose we can put those "Denard Robinson can't do it against good defenses" throw away lines to rest eh? He shredded Nebraska and shredded OSU. The last two weeks were his coming out party as a passer. He threw some lasers out there and made the right decision every time.

Was impressed with Braxton Miller's legs but man does he throw an ugly ball. I've never seen a QB go an entire game, one in which he throws for 200+ and 3 TD's and never throw a spiral? It was so bizarre. Hopefully that doesn't improve because if it does, he's going to be pretty damn tough to stop.

Was really surprised at how Michigan's OL manhandled OSU's DLine. Especially down the stretch. After they crossed mid field, they just lined up and ran it down their throat. Been blown away at how Hoke has transformed this team in to such a physical squad in 1 year.

Thought OSU had a fantastic game plan on offense. Nearly perfect really. Max protect and run double moves. Michigan's DB's got caught looking in to the backfield WAYYYY too many times. Not sure who the OC is for OSU nowadays but he was excellent today. Had Matitison and the secondary completely off balance.

What the hell happened on 3rd and 6? That was such a rough sequence. Think there had to be some sort of communication breakdown there. I thought I saw someone on the sideline signaling to clock it and another signaling to hurry. Not sure if that's what Miller saw as well (the guy flailing to clock it) but he seemed to look to the sideline before snapping and spiking. That gaff might be on an anonymous assistant.

Anyway, was an entertaining game. Moving forward, let the best team win.

It boiled down to this: If Braxton Miller could throw a decent spiral even 70% of the time with even average accuracy OSU would have won by at least 2 TDs.

But he can't and Michigan won. Congrats to them.

But I gotta believe that whoever UM plays in their Bowl game is gonna toast your DBs.

Make all the selective ifs and buts you want.

A lot of things went right for OSU to stay in that game.

- Recovered fumble on the kickoff with Michigan up 16-7. If Michigan gets that, they probably blow the game open and it's over early.
- Robinson's fumble inside their own 30. Leads to 7 points.
- Hagerup dropping the punt inside their own 30. Leads to 3 points.
- Overturned TD that never should have been overturned. Took 4 points off the board for Michigan.

So I just don't buy the oversimplification that if Braxton could throw a decent spiral, that OSU wins by two TD's. Just about everything that needed to happen to keep OSU in that game did. Did OSU miss some plays? Sure, they did. So did Michigan. Good teams overcome the missed opportunities.

As for the bowl game, again, you're reading too much in to 1 game IMO. Michigan's DB's were having so much trouble because, in the back of their minds, they had to be aware of Miller running. So many times they got caught looking in the backfield and beat with the double move. It had less to do with their actual ability to cover someone and more to do with them trying to help the front 4 in the event Miller took off.

If they play Braxton Miller again, then yeah, maybe the DB's struggle. If they play a more traditional QB, I don't think they'll have nearly as many issues as they did with OSU's max protect looks. As I said it was a great game plan.

And you guys got a gift hold and false start penalty on the OSU drive that led to the safety. (although the hold in the end zone was legit)

Simple ttuth is that a ton of factors went into OSU being this far down for this one year ...... and scUM barely beat us, Things will return to normal next year.

Well said

Michigan is overrated as hell, a little better than us obviously but they have really only beaten one good team and had several miracles to pull that one out. With another year of experience for a very young team OState handles this game by two scores.

Congrats to UM for finally actually winning one, enjoy it, it wont last long, certainly not seven in a row.

You guys act like this was a vintage Michigan team.

Hoke just won 10 games (and may sneak in to a BCS bowl) with a team many thought would win 5-6 games.

And playing the whole "you beat one of the worst teams in x number of years" card is so unbelievably weak.

You guys weren't placing caveats on W's when you were beating those soft, pushover teams RR was carting out were you?

Those teams were your norm ...... not the exception.

Your exception was the #2 team that played us when we were #1.

We beat them too.

Like I said .. you guys won this one game, and you should celebrate, and "party like it's 1999" ........ because this might well be the last one you win for quite some time.

Oh ... and your coach refusing to call Ohio State by name is childish at best.

1. Michigan will be improving too. Not saying we are going to win every year, but quit acting like we have no shot going forward. We won with a lot of players that don't fit our system. Mattison turned the 110 ranked defense into a top 20 defense using the same players.

2. And Hoke saying "Ohio" is anymore childish than past coaches calling Michigan "That school up north" or the fans calling it scUM?

A top 20 defense against jokes of teams.

I agree on Hoke, not a big deal, kind of cute though that he stole the idea from Woody Hayes.

I just find it hilarious that some UM fans now are talking about UM like they are some kind of superior team, and OState is looking up at them as some kind of Goliath. UM got a nice win,its good for them and good for the rivalry. At least now it should be competitive again.

Last I checked, Michigan plays in the same Big 10 that OSU does. Michigan missed out on Wisconsin, which definitely helped, but they still improved 88 spots in 1 season with essentially the same players.

Are they an unbeatable defense, or even close to an LSU kind of defense? Not even close. But they are improving and should only get better.

And I have not seen one person acting like Michigan is vastly superior to OSU. We won this year. That's all it means. We could win next year too, or we may not. This year proved as good as any that the records and teams don't matter.

No, you're "THE" Ohio State University according to you (OSU and fans) so the fact that he calls you Ohio is understandable. I'd think OSU fans would find it endearing since you're the only thing in the state that matters.

Michigan should have won easily - if they didn't make any mistakes we would have gotten destroyed. That spike on 3rd down still is getting my blood boiling. Ugh.

It was a very entertaining game - I posted last night from my phone so I couldn't really elaborate, but I have to say that the Michigan fans were very cordial and welcoming. I tailgated with my cousins (almost all of which are Michigan alums) - there were about 6 Buckeye fans at the tailgate (I was with CapitalGG and a couple of other friends) of 100+ people. People went out of their way to welcome us to Ann Arbor - it was an amazing experience even with the loss. The sad fact was, every single Michigan fan that I spoke to is scared to go to Ohio State for The Game. And I am not joking when I say every single person - and I talked to hundreds of people. It is downright embarrassing to have that said to you over and over - as you said "we are better than that". Heck, CapitalGG and I even got our picture taken with David Terrell who was very accommodating getting his picture with two Buckeyes. The stereotype of Buckeye fans, right or wrong, needs to be fixed.

My cousins husband has an amazing converted Trailways bus that words cannot explain - he just installed a train horn on it so anyone who was at the game probably heard it at some point as it could be heard for literally miles away. TV's, beer tap on the side, nice sound system mounted to the exterior, autographs all over the inside of ex-players and coaches, seats 25 (they go to away games in it too) - the list goes on and on. They refuse to bring it to Columbus though, which is really sad as anyone who sees this bus, no matter what their allegiance is, has to appreciate it. Plus they are great people.

Also, if anyone is interested, the Big 10 Network was at the tailgate to film the "Tailgate 48" show. Not sure when it airs as it's not listed on the Big 10 Network site yet, but CapitalGG did an O-H-I-O with his arms in one of the shots if they don't edit it out. We also stuck some Block O hats in many of them as well - hopefully one of those don't get edited!

Good game and congrats to UM. Us Buckeyes know the feeling of finally getting a win after losing for so many years!

I would hope that an Ohio State fan who also roots for the Browns understands what its like to be a fan of a team that's involved in an historic rivalry that in recent years has favored the opponent, and can also understand and appreciate the excitement that comes with beating that opponent.

Put another way, I hope they're not the type that can dish it out but can't take it.

You guys are BOTH correct....

Miller sucks balls right now as QB(passing)....but he is a legit playmaker that with time WILL get better...he def needs to improve his passing no doubt....but i don't think it's something that will not improve over time. HE IS NOT PRYOR.....Pryor had a SOLID team around him when he was a frosh and great WRs to work with his 1st season...his 2nd season he was kind of like miller is this season..but even then they were not all frosh with 0 game experience.
I'm going to give millier benfit of the doubt in that his supporting cast was also rookies just like him...but in this Michigan game the WRs were gettin open man...he just had to put the ball out there to make it at least catchable...he did NOT do that....he def needs some work.

Im just glad Michigan is better now....they sucked pretty bad last few seasons and those wins were not fun to watch....but they were WINs and i'll take them!

The fact remains tho, we killed those weak Michigan teams...while in what cearly is OSUs worst season in quite some time almost came away with a victory against a resurging MI team....i'm still not happy we lost, but i think we gave MI a game and i'm somewhat happy about that.

Once again...congrats! i hope Michigan gets better next season and so do the bucks....so we can have a top 10 top 15 match up next season!

Despite missing connections on 2, maybe 3, TD passes, I think this loss needs to be hung on the defense. It didn't help that Sweat was hurt and Shazier was playing on one leg, but the D got owned by Robinson. Time and time again, the first guy -and sometimes the 2nd guy - to the ball whiffed on the tackle when Robinson ran.

How confident are you that Robinson wouldn't have driven them down the field for a winning FG, even if Miller had hit Posey for the TD on that last possession? We'll never know for sure, but I think he would have.
