1. The Broncos will beat the Pats. The Pats D is pathetic and Brady struggles against Denver.
2. Tebow will make the pro bowl. Hype alone will put Tim Tebow into the Pro Bowl. Brady and Roethlisberger will be selected to the Pro Bowl this year. However who else? Shaub is hurt. Rivers is having a bad season. No Peyton. Maybe Flacco? Dalton?
Flacco has been terrible this year. Outside of a couple games, he has not been good at all.
Dalton has been good for a rookie, but not nearly on the probowl level.
Schaub should definitely make it (and then just injury-replace him). He was having a great year.
-------------------------
and that injury replacement should be Tebow. the probowl is for the fans (supposedly) as much as the players, and Tebow drives more interest in things than any other single player. so, he should get it.
I think Rivers will still get the nod over Tebow. Btw, has anyone heard any of the "experts" on ESPN eat their portion of crow for their talk about Tebow before he had a chance to get on the field? I mean the guy's only completed 70% of his passes and has an 11:2 ,TD:INT ratio. Oh, and he wins games to boot.
Thought this was a good video. I'm thoroughly amazed at what he's been able to do as a leader. Sure the offense might be less productive with him, but they're winning. I think that the defense might be stepping up partially because they believe in him. (See 2004 Pittsburgh Steelers)
I generally dislike when people are so open about their faith, but mostly because 1. They don't actually live what they're stating, and 2. They're trying to convert people to their faith. With Tebow, I don't feel this is the case at all. I think that his faith is such a part of his psyche, that he is able to pull off all these comebacks because of the mental strength he gets from his strong faith. He also walks the walk in that sense.
The man oozes leadership. Look at how positive he was throughout that video. It is not a fake thing at all. He genuinely believes in himself, his team, and his god. I find it admirable because it is genuine if nothing else. Let him work on his throwing, and that spread option could be dominant for quite a few years. His team believes in him, that still goes a long way.
I watched espn and nfl network discussing tebow and each were showing various peoples opinions on Tebow. It was really amazing, based on the opinions they showed. The Tebow opinions are pretty divided up racial lines it seems. Whites thought he was a terrific young QB, while blacks thought he sucked. It was quiet remarkable.

I think he defies conventional thought processes regarding NFL QBs. He's tough enough to take the hits demanded by his style of play. That in itself is admirable for a QB
There are a wealth of college QBs in the spread option. The more I ponder it the more I think Peen is on to somethin when he says the spread option will be part of the NFL. Eventually there will be too many talented round pegs to fit in the square hole NFL QBs are right now. Not this year or next, but I think he's the first in a trend over the next decade or so.

There's next months "sign of the apocalypse" in SI.
Quote: The Broncos are not winning because of Tebow...they are winning in spite of Tebow.
Tebow is the #32 ranked QB in the NFL in... ... total yds-1290 ...yds per game-117.3 ...completion percentage 48.5%
It is safe to say, Tebow is being carried by the rest of the team and unless he improves his passing, the luck will run out and the shine will fade.
You're not looking at the entire picture. Those stats fulfill only your argument.
Ignoring that Tebow opens up McGahee, for example. How he protects the football. His own running threat.
Correct.
There seems to be a misconception about all teams. That misconception is: TEAM. A good team can make up for a few players individual weaknesses. A bad team can't.
Mac - aside from some fans, and most of the media - the people that matter don't look at Tebow's shortcomings. I'm talking about his team here. They don't say "Tebow won the game for us", they don't say "Tebow lost the game for us".
They simply say "we won". Tebow doesn't look for or ask for accolades. Tebow gives credit to everyone else on his TEAM. (and rightly so). I would guess that's why his teammates like him so much.
We've been hearing from day 1 how Tebow "can't be an nfl quarterback".......It is now week 8, and we hear "Well, he still isn't any good".....meanwhile, the broncos are 7- 1 in their last 8 games.
One strength of his is that he can really turn it around late in a game in which he has struggled. The 4th quarter really seems to be his time ....... and he shines with the game on the line.
Their defense has to know that if they keep the Broncos in a game, that they can still win.

arch...fact is, teams do not win the Super Bowl with the worst passing QB in the NFL.
If Tebow does not develop his passing game to at least an average level, the Broncos are going no where.
This season's Tebow story would make a great book, but when it comes to winning in the playoffs, luck and emotion will only take a team so far. The rest of the Bronco team is doing a good job of carrying Tebow and they should be getting more credit than they are.
Also, the AFC West happens to be a very weak division this year with KC and the Chargers having a down year.
If the luck runs out, which it will eventually, and the Broncos lose a game or two, then some will begin to reflect on the individual performance of the QB. If Tebow's individual performance is close to what his stat line is so far this season, it might dawn on some that the Broncos won't be able to contend for the Super Bowl unless they get better play from Tebow.
I wonder how many would be satisfied with Tebow's QB performance if he were the Browns QB?

Speculation I heard as to what attributes to this is the shape the guy is in. He's the first at practice and the last to leave and it was suggested that when the D is getting gassed in the 4th, Tebow's still running on a full tank.

They're like the chiefs last year. There luck will run out in the playoffs and they will be one and done.
Tim Tebow in the 4th quarter: (and he has gone 7-1 over the course of this year)
48-80 for 732 yards, 61.3% 9.15 yards/attempts, 6 TD 1 INT. It is, by far, his best quarter.
He is below 50% in the 1st 3 quarters of games, and is below 6 yards/attempt in the first 3 quarters.
My question is ..... is this scheme or execution? Is he restrained in the 1st 3 quarters, which is what it appears, given that he has thrown almost as many 4th quarter pases as 1-3rd quarter passes combined? (101 in 1st-3rd quarters and 80 in the 4th) Would he be helped by additional passes earlier in the game, or exposed?
He seems to really excel when allowed to throw the ball, and late in games with the pressure on. It's not even close.

Trent Dilfer was ranked 20th in passer rating that year.

I think its "playing from behind". I believe that in every one of the games they've won with Tebow at QB they've trailed going into the fourth quarter.
Edit: Just double-checked...they led the Chiefs 10-7 going into the 4th and were tied in two of the games. They trailed in the other five.
New England's weakness is their pass defense. Tebow has 6 completions for 84 yards. That's a big part of why they're losing, and a huge indicator that Tebow can only succeed when the defense and running game are lights out...like any other bad QB.

We'll just hear how his defense let him down.
The D didn't let him down, but then again Tebow didn't do anything to lose the game either....pretty good numbers.
They lost to NE(assuming), so have a few other teams with QB's who's style you approve.
Get over it Candy....when Denver wins it's luck, when they lose it's because Tim is a bad QB who can't exploit a weakness..
We'll see how it all plays out.
Time is on my side and working against you.
