Then he gets put into the game mid season and takes them on a nice streak of wins.
Then he gets in the playoffs, played injured and the D didn't hold up so the Broncos got beat bad..
After Tebow took over at QB: Avg. points allowed in wins: 17.5 Avg. points allowed in losses: 35.6
Turnovers in wins: 7 (8 games) Turnovers in losses: 14 (5 games)
QBR in wins: 89.9 QBR in losses: 52.3
Tebow's comp % beyond 10 yards is 31.7%
The defense wasn't the only reason they lost any of their games, let alone the playoff game.

Honestly I don't give a damn about stats.. All I know is, when he was in, that team played for him.. Like it or not, the kid is a winner and I think he's only going to get better..

I'd still rather have him than any other QB we've had in the past decade.

I agree...he's going to get better, but I don't think "better" is going to be good enough. As much as he became a leader of the team, got ALL the credit for the wins and played big in spots....his owner is only willing to stand by his side until training camp begins. Sorry, that's about the most backhanded sign of confidence ever. To me, take away all the defense and crazy circumstances that lead him to wins (Marion Barber), and you have an option running QB that is one of the worst passers in the league. Defenses will/did figure out the gimmick. He doesn't have to just get better, he has to be way better AND stay ahead of the adapting defenses. I don't think he has enough to do that. LIke I said, IMO, he's Derek Anderson (1-trick pony). His toughness and legs will only get him so far before defenses will adapt to use his weaknesses against him every down (as the year went on and on his numbers went down and down - the Steelers were paper tigers, come on, we were a decent QB away from beating them twice). I wish him as much luck as I'd want any Bronco's QB to have....which is almost none. I don't care if he's a good, great or fantastic human being. Let ESPN run all the Olympic-like vignettes they want, I don't care. He's a rival conference QB that just happens to be on the team that kept us out of the SB three out of four years. Poo on him.

I know you're joking....but that's a common response from some Tebow supporters. And sometimes, it's hard to tell when they're being serious (I'm sure some are).

LOL I'm pretty sure Adam is pulling your leg. But I think you are correct on why some folks are down on Tebow.. That's pretty sad.
Kid has been clean all his life, no run ins with the law, no drugs, no gambling, no while parties, nothing. Football, Family and his faith. And not in that particular order.
That's it.
As for you feeling he's going to get better but still not good enough.. hey,, you may be right.. but only time will tell.
Again, I'd never bet against this kid..

Yes, he's a leader.
I'm not even he's that. He has the support of his team yes, but had all those close games gone the other way, and they lost more than they won, I have doubt that his team mates would be as supportive.
It's easy to be the General when your winning the battles.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.
