wasn't his back wrecked up or something??
I know he's been around a few years.... and I don't think he'd be big enough to be a 3-4 DE.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Yea, and they signed Patrick Kerney. Nothing like releasing an old injury prone end only to sign an old injury prone end.
I wish to wash my Irish wristwatch......

This actually surprises me a little bit. I've been a Seahawks season ticket holder for 4 years now and over the last 3 years as a Hawk - he's performed well - though his #s were down this year.
Must be a money thing - I know they shelled a lot of dough out to him and maybe they expected more. I think he was due 3.5M this year. and I found this...the Seahawks will take a $7 million salary cap hit for releasing Wistrom, but the move will be processed after June 1 so the acceleration will be spread over two years -- $2.33 million now and $4.66 million 2008.
On the injury front,. he's been pretty healthy the last 2 years, playing in every game.

He's go Three strikes against him for me: 1) Too Old 2) Too Small to play DE/DT 3) Will be too expensive
Go Browns!!

He's missed 12 games in the last ten years.
He hasn't missed any games in the last two years.
Injury prone???? If you're not familiar with a guy don't feel obligated to post. Calling Wistrom injury prone is just inaccurate.
In reality he's been a solid player for the Hawks and he has a motor that never stops. Every play he's around the ball and really sets a tone for the D.
I'm not sure how he would fit in Cleveland but there are some guys that are just "football players" and Wistrom is one of them.

Wistrom is a decent player, but wouldn't fit in with the Browns defense. I don't think he is big enough to play DE. Plus, he probably wnats a lot of money and is getting old
