North Korean leader Kim Jong Il, 69, has died | cleveland.com
http://www.cleveland.com/world/index.ssf/2011/12/north_korean_leader_kim_jong_i_2.html

SEOUL, South Korea -- Kim Jong Il, North Korea's mercurial and enigmatic leader, has died. He was 69.

Kim's death was announced Monday by state television from the North Korean capital, Pyongyang.

Kim is believed to have suffered a stroke in 2008 but appeared relatively vigorous in photos and video from recent trips to China and Russia and in numerous trips around the country carefully documented by state media.

The leader, reputed to have had a taste for cigars, cognac and gourmet cuisine, was believed to have had diabetes and heart disease.

The news came as North Korea prepared for a hereditary succession. Kim Jong Il inherited power after his father, revered North Korean founder Kim Il Sung, died in 1994.

In September 2010, Kim Jong Il unveiled his third son, the twenty-something Kim Jong Un, as his successor, putting him in high-ranking posts.

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

It will be interesting to see how this turns out. I'm guessing his son will take over and the country will probably get worse.

It sure is a bad year for the dictators. Hopefully the people of Syria get the job done and overthrow theirs as well.

I always get nervous with this kind of stuff though, Kim Jong was an awful guy, but you always wonder how the person succeeding him will be. Will his son be even more of a nut?

That's what makes me nervous about the overthrow of Ghadafi and more-so Mubarak.

But whatever the people want, they should get. Just hopefully not a worse dictator than the one they got rid of

I'll just say I'm looking forward to what the Onion puts together on this guy.

Then again, you don't really even need to make things up with this crackpot.

It's been a very, very bad year to be a wacky, sunglass wearing dictator.

I am not surprised. Things like this happen when Tim Tebow loses.

Hmmm... doesn't his last loss roughly coincide with the death of Ghaddafi??

What was Tebow doing when we took out bin Laden?

After pointing this out to a coworker, he stated the following:

"So sign him to the Browns. A nice losing streak like that should take out all the remaining dictators and terrorists around the world."

Well I just pray for our military personnel and families living in S. Korea and I hope the son doesn't feel like he needs to do a show of force to legitimize himself.

They'd have the world down their throats in a heartbeat. China wouldn't be able to hold it up.
