It seems like it might be connected ..... but not sure .....
From what I have read, Fox has said that a false plot synopsis has been released ..... then they released one that is almost identical to a very small part of the one that was released .......

It's set before the first Alien, the only one Ridley Scott actually directed. I'm trying to go in as spoiler free as possible. I'm thinking therewill be at least a brief xenomorph &/or face hugger cameo.
My most anticipated movie of 2012....
And there is no Alien movie worth watching beyond the third one. And even the third has its questionable....

Ridley Scott said that there won't be any Xenomorphs in this movie. Although there will be some more exploration/exposition of the "Space Jockey" character/race. (The big fossilized dude fused to the chair with the busted chest in the original Alien movie; which we see a quick shot of in the Prometheus trailer) Moviefone
