When I navigate the forums I am fine and quick...

Problem is this...When I reply to a post and hit the "Continue" button it takes nearly 3 minutes to get to the "Preview Post" page...Then when submitting it takes another 2 minutes for the post to show up...

What's wrong???

I have run a registry cleaner and cleaned up the disk on my puter...I have also deleted temporary internet files and logged out and back on numerous times...I don't need a defragment and I've gone to "My Home" and deleted cookies numerous times...

What's Wrong???

Honestly, I have no idea.

None of those actions do anything that should cause slow loading on the client end..... unless the upload speed of your connection is pig freaking slow??
Both when doing a preview and when submitting a post, your computer is Posting all of the data in your message up to the site... so if your connection's upload speed is running slow, then I could see that doing it.... the problem with that theory is that text is so tiny and transmits so quickly that your connection would have to be damn near dead and sending in morse code for it to take that long! Everything else is a downstream/download operation.

Just a simple suggestion: Unplug and re-plug your modem/router... then reboot your machine. I don't know, that's all I can think of, however.

I would doubt that a defrag would accomplish anything with it. Temp internet files would have been a possible solution, but if you've tried that, then that's obviously ruled out.
I suppose you could check things like proxy settings and whether or not disabling antivirus might help... but I'd think that those are long shots.

Hmmm... maybe the server just needs some maintenance?

I don't know. I haven't seen the issue on here, so... I don't know what to say.

I would think you'd see this more wide spread if it's a server issue. Granted writing to the database may take a couple of seconds longer than reading from the database but we're talking seconds, not minutes and so far no one else has stepped up with this issue.

that would be my expectation as well, but there may be a coffin case here that I'm not aware of.... e.g. posting data with setting 'x' turned on, or whatever.
I don't want to ignore it, but I don't know what on this end could cause it.... and if he only sees it here, then there IS some type of correlation.

That settles it - I blame The City of Baltimore.

You're not using Go Daddy as a host are you? I hear they have a lot of bandwidth opening up today.

lol, no... I built my own server and have it collocated in a Tier 1 data center.
