Chiefs plan to keep Crennel Quote:
The Kansas City Chiefs plan to retain interim head coach Romeo Crennel, according to league sources.
Chiefs officials could not be reached for comment Saturday, and a timeline for when they'll make an announcement was uncertain.
Crennel has a good relationship with general manager Scott Pioli and is well-liked by his players.

What I remember with the situation is that Savage asked what position Crennel preferred - blindside pass rusher or defensive tackle. Crennel said pass rusher.
I believe Savage had them ranked equally and thus tried to get a pick and a lower draft pay slot in trading with Baltimore.
That worked out well.

Yeah, I believe that's an example of "working with" RAC even if it wasn't the best pick.
I'm trying to remember specific examples of not working with RAC because I've read that more than once recently.

The way I remember it Savage asked RAC if he wanted the lineman or the pass rusher and RAC said the pass rusher. So Savage, who had them rated equally, got him Wimbley and went on to gloat about how he one-upped Newsome.

To be fair:
For whatever reason I watched quite a few Oregon games in Ngata's final year. To say his motor was inconsistant would be an understatement. He'd make an unbelieveable, barreling up the field tackle behind the LOS and you'd think wow that's a man-beast!
Then he'd disappear for chunks of time. I can see why personnel people missed on him.
And I think without Ray Lewis literally up his rear end he'd be a take a few plays off player in the pros too. JMHO

Absolutely 100% agree with that. I saw one team (don't remember if it was Stanford or noted dame) effectively block him one-on-one with a fullback. It's the only time I've ever seen a team not try to block a d-tackle with an olineman.

I think that we used that 3rd round pick from the Raiders to draft McCoy.

but just saw on the bottom line of ESPN that Wade Phillips, Brad Childress, and Mike Zimmer are all candidates for the Buccaneers job...
Would be nice to see Zimmer get the job because he has certainly earned it, is a great guy, and would then be out of the division...and the conference

Congrats to RAC!
Hopefully, he's benefited from his tenure here and has learned a few things. That, with a GM that will be very much on the same page as him having come from the same roots in New England, and he should have some nice success down there.

Bummer. He's been a bright spot for a while now. Didn't he pre-date Mangini? He may have been the second most-tenured Brown behind Dawson. Maybe Jackson has been here longer?
Well, definitely not bringing Wright back. Maybe he'll play for the cowboys next year.

Wow, that sucks. I really like Henderson and think that he's a bright coach.
For whomever asked, Henderson was hired by Mangini, coming over from NY.

Was he no longer under contract here? Just curious, as it seems like a lateral move. That's a tough situation he's going to, Dallas's secondary is horrendous.

I was talking about Eric Wright... he had his one year deal in Detroit and is a free agent. He really liked Henderson as a coach.

It was NOT a lateral move. Henderson stays aboard the Titanis he knows there is much greater than a 50% chance he is looking for a new job at seasons end when we are cleaning house again. he is looking out for his family. I say he is showing proper due diligence in his forward thinking.

First off, it IS a lateral move. Get a clue. You have no idea at all what you are talking about, do you?
Secondly, there is no way he can leave here to go there without his contract being up... whether it just ended, or we fired him. Being that we haven't seen anything about him being fired, however, the contract must have been up.
My guess is that he just prefers to work with Ryan over Jauron. Perhaps he's just wanting the better weather in Dallas, or his agent was able to get him better money in Dallas for doing the same job with a guy that he already feels comfortable working with.

It's really no big loss. I have seen no progression from our CB's under Henderson and if anything they have regressed. Look no further than Wright(although I never thought much of him), Haden Struggling, and we suprisingly got more pressure on opposing QB's this year and had very few Int's or in a position to make a difference. This was in house if you ask me and told him he can look for work.

DB Coach to DB Coach IS a lateral move. Potential longevity and stability may effect the attractiveness of a position, but does NOT make it a promotion.
