Last night I had a string of really fun and competitive games, which to me, is the point of playing Madden...

But just now, I played one of THOSE games, against one of THOSE kind of players...

They picked Green Bay, I tried to match O with D and picked SF, I like to run the ball alot, it's how I play...

They got the ball first..

First play, Deep lob to Greg Jennings, Incomplete.
Second play, Deep lob to Greg Jennings, Incomplete.
Third play, Deep lob to Greg Jennings, Incomplete.
FOURTH DOWN, Deep lob to Greg Jennings, Incomplete.

I get the ball, run it a few times, throw a TD to Vernon Davis.

I kockoff, they get the ball. (Side note: Something that bugs me, and I don't know why, is when people Fair Catch a KO in the End Zone... Why?)

On the second play he throws a pick....

The opposing player has quit the game.

What's the point?

I play Madden to try and have the most REALISTIC football game possible.

Isn't that the point of playing a simulation football game? This isn't Blitz, it's not an arcade game. Why do you think you're so freaking special because you can run Michael Vick backwards 20 yards and then get a first down?

I have had too many bad experiences with Madden Online so I only play friends and family now.

I once had a kid drive all the way down the field to 1st and goal from the 1yd line. I stop him on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down. He's yapping through the headset at me saying I got lucky and then he proceeds to kneel the ball on 4th saying he is going to get a safety anyways and then get the ball back.

My first play I did a WR screen and take it to the house. He quit.

I gave up playing Madden online a long time ago. I've never played a game to completion as the opposing player always quits on me when they're down the first score or losing at half. Play the computer if you want a punching bag. I really miss ESPN NFK 2K5. It was far and away better than Madden in every aspect of the game.

Also on Madden 10 (my last madden purchase) I couldn't ever play a non lagged game, made it unplayable online IMO.

I haven't played a game online is ages for those very same reasons.

@OSGuy - I think the guy was fair catching the kickoff believing that was the only way to get a touchback. I did that when I first started playing it

@ Andra - I haven't bought a Madden since '05, but U might wanna check out this year's Madden. It's much better than the previous 5 versions and is a nice compliment to NCAA '12, which I really love!

I loved when they instituted the gameplan playcalling feature...

They've had "Ask Madden" for year, but it never seemed to make any sense, the gameplans are something they've improved on greatly...

Back in the day, I ran the ball, and had 3-5 Play Action plays that I would use, If you could stop my running game (which IMO, is pretty good) then you basically shut me down... Because back then, I didn't really understand the passing, so I wouldn't pick passing plays...

But with the gameplan feature, I just roll with the gameplan and it's improved my passing game ten fold over the years.

except WR Curls, At least once every game I'll run Curls, the DB will step infront of my WR, I WILL SEE THIS HAPPEN, and I will still throw the damn ball for some reason...

I'm also glad DBs can't jump 5 feet in the air while running at a full sprint anymore, That was really annoying...

Last two people I have played Madden online whooped my ass.

One of them is on this very board, Bryan(TopDawg16) and Shawn Rogers. Yes that Shawn Rogers. To add insult to injury it was when he was with the Browns and not only did he whoop my ass, but he did it with the Ravens SMH.

I would like to play some of you online. PM me if you are interested. The only person I have to play madden with is my nephew so I am sure I will get owned. I don't mind, though. It's fun to play.

I just don't don Madden online anymore. I don't really do anything online other than MW or Battlefield.

Although if anyone is on PS3 and wants to play ncaa or madden, i would be down.

I'm more of the guy who likes to play offline and build a franchise, make my own moves, etc..

I like that too. I play NCAA most of the time. I am in year 2025 with my current "coach." I started off as head coach of Idaho, took them to then nat'l championship game in year 3, lost it. The next year my team was void of talent so I simmed the year. Turns out, my team lost a bunch of games so I got canned. (lol i was actually really pissed, but i kept playing). I then took over as the offensive coordinator at Western Kentucky (the only team to offer me a job). I stayed there for a couple years, winning a bunch of games but always losing 1 or 2. then I took the offensive coordinator job at San Diego State. In my first year, I won the nat'l championship against Ohio (of all teams, lol). In my 2nd year, I lost the nat'l championship to Colorado. I decided to look elsewhere for a job so I took the offensive coordinator job at Duke. I won two nat'l champs and then got hired as the Head Coach at Arizona. two nat'l champs later, I am in year 3 and my team is still undefeated. My alma mater is tOSU (on the game) so I am hoping to move there next. It's been a wild, but fun ride since July. I only play a cpl games on the weekends, so it's been a slow process up until this point.

lol i just took the easy way and grabbed the osu job. I won the NC in year 3, and will probably start to see some of my recruits play now..

I want to ressurrect the SMU program so i think i may play that next. Problem is Smackdown V Raw is dominating the ps3.

i was just offered the offensive coordinator job at tOSU, even though I won nat'l titles as a head coach ... weird, but anyway i just took over tOSU last night and played 1 game. my RB has 99 speed and my QB is a 97 overall. lol. My goal was to become head coach at tOSU and then call it quits, but now I am thinking I want to start all over again, only this time as a D coordinator and see if I can work my way up.

first game w tOSU, (Heisman difficulty) 99 speed RB had 256 yards rushing and 170 yards receiving. too easy. i hate it when its easy lol. i am gonna start all over. i love NCAA. i have a Browns franchise in Madden, but I never play it because its a 4 game preseason and 16 game regular season. its too long, imo.

it does?? damnit i was hoping it was going to be awesome, was waiting for the price to come down on amazon. Heard they revamped all the controls...

SVR 2011 is pretty fun though. I love the Universe mode.

MW3 isn't bad, but I wasn't blown away by it.

I think WWE 12 is great, if you like SVR11 then you will love WWE 12.

Gameplay is vastly improved. SVR 11 took a step back in the gameplay dept. from SVR 10, but the introduction of the Universe mode was cool.

WWE 12 jumped about 3 steps forward. The gameplay is improved, graphics improved, it looks more like an actual televised event now. Universe is improved (dont see the same cut scenes over and over) The create an arena is great.

If you enjoy SVR11 you should absolutely pick up WWE 12.

I didn't like the road to wrestlemania all that much...

The voice-acting was horrible. I know these aren't A-level actors here, but it seemed like they were pressed for time, and did 1 take.

Could have done without the backstage stuff, did not understand the adding xp to your stats as you really don't get the chance to level up (I dunno, do you keep playing or something, they have like 5 levels of each attribute but playing rey mysterio's RTW I couldn't level up anything at all...

Once you go to the matches though, it was great. I love the many options for a fight, and like it's mentioned with universe, any fight you put together affects how the wwe universe goes. Brilliant.

Maybe I'll break down and pick up 12 today, I have a 40$ target card from Christmas I haven't used. Especially with my February tournament now off the board.

Yeah, the Road to Wrestlemania is improved also, although the voice acting still isn't all that great. But they dropped the backstage walking around and what not, you basically are just playing through the storyline mode.

I mainly stick to the Universe mode though. I downloaded a Saturday Nights Main Event ring, the old school one and did a special event a few weeks back with some of the legends.

But if you like SVR11 as much as it sounds, you really will love WWE 12, they added so much more customization along with the look and feel improving a lot.

You can have a Raw show, Nitro and ECW if you want, or if you want AWA, NXT, RoH, TNA etc... You can assign the belts you want to the 2 brands.

Lots of stuff you can do with it this year...

I play online franchise mode and that is alot of fun when you get good players that dont cheese and whine. I stink at the game but they put up with me.
Currently Im in 3 leagues and am joining a 4th alot players mixed across all the leagues so guess we are all madden junkies lol
The leagues are sim style no crazy going for it on 4th down on your own side on the first drive.

I also like the gamecalling feature and use it alot for the same reason.

Picked up WWE 12 last night, first impressions are this game is tough.

On normal mode, it's hard to get a good rythym when going up against someone.

I don't mind that they changed control schemes a bit, but they shouldn't have removed the practice arena tutorial so you can get everything down pat.

The graphics and presentations are good solid letter grade above SVR11.

I love the commentary with Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler, it's not the same stuff you heard in SVR11, which I like. Kind of tired of hearing the same old suff in NCAA, NBA2k, etc...

I agree, not sure why they got rid of it, at least keep it as a selectable option if they didnt want to open with it.

That being said, the controls are pretty easy to grasp after a few matches. I started off on easy just to get a feel and because it was a little more difficult than last year.

Put in NCAA Football 2012 Disc.

Download Update.

Accept Online Agreements.

Download Named Rosters.

Start Dynasty.

Recruit Players.

Check Depth Chart.

Realize Named Roster was saved, but Never Loaded...

Rinse. Repeat.

Side Note: I love the idea of Recruiting players to come play for Army and Navy...

I love playing people with High DNFs

They usually suck...

And after you get up 2 TDs, they usually quit, so you get a quick win...

after a while, i have really gotten used to this game and it's much easier to get through a match. Weird for whatever reason the game updated on sunday night, i don't think it was a brand new update or anything, and the "comeback" feature was added, where if you are about to get finished off, you can hit triangle and make a comeback. I realize this happens in the wwe, but in the game it seems like cheating to me. Anyone know how to turn this off, do you simply just have to play at the "hard" difficulty instead of normal?

Totally ruined what was a really solid game in my opinion.
