I skimmed through this thread. One thing that surprised me is nobody mentioned, or at least I didn't see it, Hamilton. Remember him. He's the 6'3, 217 lb second year safety we drafted last year. I remember him playing very nicely in preseason and spot duty last year. We've all been kind of waiting on the safety duo of Sean Jones and Brodney Pool to come to fruition. I think it finally has with Pool stepping in for the departed Russell this year. Now we go back to Hamilton who has shown signs of being a decent safety and there's our depth. I just don't see what the point of bringing in Kaesviharn is.
And for the record......he sucks.

Perhaps you should keep on "servicing" those athletes, and then you can "get the comments"
Wow!
Folk: A few of us were talking about Hamilton on the Russell thread. Some of us think highly of him.
nc: I don't think Kae is nearly as good as Russell. If you look at his scouting report, you see some serious flaws. Not good at coverage or tackling. I think they were fooled by the # of picks, which as I stated earlier, aren't always a true indicator of a guy's ballhawking ability. Think of some of Holly's interceptions this year where he was in zone coverage and the ball just came to him. And Kae is a S where those types of interceptions are going to happen more.

I don't know crap about Kaeshvihoweveryouspellit, but I do know that beggars can't be choosers. And frankly, we are no position to turn away anyone who could potentially make this team better. If he sucks, fine, we'll find out in training camp and then he won't make the 53-man roster, but he could be servicable and we really need all the help we can get. Sounds like maybe a good ST player and maybe even a nickel given his "tweener" abiity. Who else do we have? Hamilton? Let him battle for it. Competition makes everyone better. At this moment in time, I just don't think we're in any position to say "Sorry, you're not good enough to play for the Cleveland Browns."

Kaes isnt bad. i just wouldnt want him to be starter. i think he would be a great 3rd safety though. last seasons stats(6 INT and 4 sacks) could ne thought of as a fluke but in the 5 prior seasons he got 9 INTs and 2 Sacks. So he still can make some big plays.

I doubt it. There's just no way we've given up on Pool already.... way to soon for that.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I believe your logic is good yet flawed in this particular situation.
If we sign Kae, we basically traded Kae for Russell.
That's a bad move, IMO.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Agreed. Last year's training camp the coaches were talking about him being the best athlete on the field. And at one point in time I honestly thought he was going to beat out Jones from the praises they were singing about him. And I also remember the reason Jones won the job is because he was "more ready for the job." All that means is he's had some time to play and is accustomed to the NFL. Pool just needed more time under his belt to get used to the speed of the game. I feel like we could have one of if not the best Safety tandems in the game.
