This is interesting. Using Firefox this site is still major slow when trying to reply to a thread. I'm talking 10 minutes to get a reply entered after submitting it. The more words I use the longer it takes. I'm purposely making this a bit longer than it needs to be to test something. If this works better I need some advice as to what's wrong with this site using Firefox. I downloaded Opera Browser and this is the only window I have open and the loading is super fast. Like blink an eye fast. Now I'm going to try to submit this post and see how quick it takes. I will edit this when I submit it and let u know how fast versus Firefox. I'm also going to put some smilies in here for test purposes. Testing...1-2-3-4-5...Testing...

Damn...That 1st post would take up to 5 minutes on Firefox.
It took less then 1 second on Opera.
Now I'm lost. WTH could possibly be wrong with this site on Firefox?
I did see one person say it's a potential Javascript problem on the SITE side itself??????

I use firefox and I've not experienced anything like you're describing.
Now I am on a MAC but that really shouldn't make any difference.

Since I generally don't write novels around here my average might be less than others so I just posted a lot of copy/pasted text to see how long it would take. From the point of clicking to send it to the point I was reading my post was 5 seconds.

OK. Now I'm going to use Firefox again for a post and have Opera open to this site at the same time. Firefox on this site is operating quicker with Opera also open. This is wierd. Testing...Ignore the text below it's for length of post purposes. I'm still holding out the chance that, Flynn and Manning go to Washington and Miami, and we can just sit back and let RG3 fall to us.

This is the comment that drove me to download and use Opera...
sounds like the site itself is having server or javascript loading issues. Also, it could be that the site is loading ads or images from another site which is having trouble.
Have you tried from another browser (on your mac)? For example, firefox, chrome, opera?
You might want to open a terminal and try to access the URL using wget or similar tool, which will download just the raw page itself and give some stats on it. If you have firefox, you could install the firebug extension which has a lot of tools for debugging this kind of thing as well.

If you think it's javascript related, are you running the noscript add on for FF?

VATICAN CITY — Pope Benedict XVI created 22 new cardinals on Saturday, including Timothy M. Dolan of New York, in a ceremony at St. Peter’s Basilica rich in pageantry and resonant with ancient tradition.
From his throne under the soaring dome designed by Michelangelo, Benedict received the men one by one, as they climbed the steps to the altar that lies over the grave of St. Peter and knelt before the 84-year-old pope.
The pope bestowed a blessing on each man, and gave them the red silk, square-ridged hats, called birettas, that signify princes of the church. The scarlet color, he told the men in a quiet but steady voice, signifies a “readiness to act with courage, even to the shedding of your blood, for the increase of the Christian faith.”
Then, giving a golden ring to each of the new cardinals, the pope declared, “Receive the ring from the hands of Peter and know that your love of the church is strengthened with the love of the Prince of the Apostles.”
Among the men consecrated were two archbishops from the United States, Cardinal Edwin F. O’Brien, 73, who was born in the Bronx and became the archbishop of Baltimore, and Cardinal Dolan, 62, who has been the archbishop of New York since 2009 and is also the president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
With Saturday’s ceremony, there are now 125 cardinals under the age of 80 years and thus eligible to vote for the next pope. As a result of the new appointments, the group of cardinal-electors is now more than half Italians and Europeans, strengthening the Western voice at the church’s highest levels even as it grows most rapidly in the global South. Only three of the new cardinals hailed from the developing world, from Brazil, India and Hong Kong.
The consistory, as the event at which new cardinals are created is called, will continue on Sunday with a special Mass celebrated by the Pope. The celebrations come at a challenging time for the Vatican; for the past several weeks, Rome has been mired in headlines stemming from leaks of confidential documents and allegations of financial corruption among elements of the church leadership.
But the sight of thousands of pilgrims, dignitaries and clergy gathered together for one of the church’s most significant occasions provided a unified counterpoint to the intrigue.
Cardinal Dolan drew particular attention, in part because of his status as the archbishop of New York, in part because he delivered a well-received address on evangelization to the College of Cardinals on Friday, and in part because of his exuberant personality.
Cardinal Dolan also has a particularly large entourage — his every move in Rome has been followed by a trail of New York media crews, and he has been joined in Rome by close to 1,000 well-wishers, among them relatives, friends, and Catholics from New York and the other dioceses in which he had served. On Saturday, the pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square, some before dawn, to wait for one of the coveted seats in the central nave of the basilica, behind the scarlet-topped cardinals, the purple of bishops, the black robes of the Eastern Catholic priests, and the white vestments of the Roman Catholic priests.
Cardinal Dolan speaks frequently of the importance of demonstrating joy and happiness as a form of evangelization, and that posture was evident on Saturday. As most of the cardinals chatted among themselves, Cardinal Dolan walked back through the crowd before the ceremony, greeting friends and guests who showered him with camera flashes and applause. And while the other cardinals walked solemnly with folded hands up the 10 steps to the altar, Dolan lifted the hem of his scarlet robes with one hand and bounded upward to receive his hat and ring, as well as a scroll marked with the name of his titular church in Rome, Our Lady of Guadalupe at Monte Mario.
Cardinal Dolan will return to the United States on Tuesday and find his own political maelstrom back home, as the bishops continue to battle the Obama administration’s plan to require birth control coverage for employees of some religious institutions, including Catholic universities, social service organizations, and hospitals.
Also among the new cardinals was Thomas Christopher Collins, the archbishop of Toronto, Canada; George Alencherry, archbishop of the Syro-Malabar community in India; John Tong Hon, the bishop of Hong Kong, and João Braz de Aviz, a Brazilian archbishop who leads an office at the Vatican. Ten of the new cardinals work at the Vatican in leadership positions.
The ceremony concluded with a final honor for the United States and New York. Pope Benedict announced that he would canonize seven new saints, among them two Americans: Marianne Cope, a member of the Sisters of Saint Francis of Syracuse, N.Y., who cared for lepers on the island of Moloka’i,Hawaii, in the late 19th century, and Kateri Tekakwitha, an 17th century Mohawk Indian from upstate New York who converted to Catholicism and will be the Catholic church’s first Native American saint.

I sometimes experience similar problems. I find that if I click the "continue" button two times it will load faster.

It's an add on that you can get for FF to stop unknown or untrusted javascripts running on your computer without your permission. You'd have to purposefully download and install it. Since you're asking it's a safe bet you've not done that download. So java should be able to run freely on your machine. I was going to suggest that if you were using it you set up for this site to run free of it but since you're not, no worries.

Try the normal stuff ...... delete your cookies and temp files, make sure that there's not some weird setting in your privacy settings in Firefox, and so on.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I'm not looking at the code, but I am mentally running through it and I can't think of any javascript that executes on a submit.
There is plenty of javascript for putting the smilies and stuff into your posts, but I don't think there is any at all once you click submit.... I'm kinda sure that all of the form validation is handled by the PHP script that the data is posted to.
Of course, every page loads Ads if you haven't turned them off, and that uses javascript.
Hmmm... the longer the post, the longer the time it takes??? Could it be some kind of spellchecker or something??
