Fox news in Cleve. had Rizzo saying stay tuned for news involving Ryan Tucker and was making a "woe is me " look on his face, of course I wasn't able to stay tuned, missed it, now not seeing anything about it. Anyone else see it or heard anything?

http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/article.php?id=6179Tucker, Kelley done for season Zac Jackson, Staff Writer 11.28.2006 The Browns placed Ryan Tucker on the non-football illness (NFI) list and placed Ethan Kelley on injured-reserve Tuesday, ending the 2006 season for both. Tucker left last week's game with an illness that also caused him to miss two games earlier in the season. A knee injury sidelined Kelly. The Browns signed J'Vonne Parker and promoted Rob Smith from the practice squad to fill their spots on the active roster, and also signed Alvin Smith to fill the empty practice squad spot. Parker, who was with the Browns in training camp before he was waived and claimed by the Cowboys, also played as a backup nose tackle at the end of last season when Kelley was injured. Parker played in four games for the Browns last season and two with the Cowboys earlier this season. Rob Smith, an undrafted rookie, spent camp with the Browns and had spent the entire regular season on the practice squad. He can play both guard and center. Alvin Smith is an undrafted rookie defensive lineman who spent training camp with the Chargers. He played college football at Oregon State. Without a link, I can only say Ryan is done for the season, and he should be in our prayers.

Wow, I really hope he's ok. Whatever his problem is, I hope he fixes that before he ever worries about coming back to the team. He kicked some butt for us, but he has to think about his own health before football.
Good luck, Ryan! We'll miss ya!
I'll be real interested to hear what the problem is, if we ever do hear about it.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

Tucker will be in my prayers.
Could this be why the O-line looked rather lame on Sunday? They've mostly played hard, if not particularly well, all season. Things like this can mess with a group of guys who spend so much time together. It's just a thought...

This illness thing that Tucker has scares me to no end.. you know, if a player breaks a bone, or tears a muscle, it's almost understandable and, to a point, expected.. After all, it's a violent sport.....
But an illness is truly unexpected if you know what I mean...
All I can say is that Tucker is in my prayers,,, Be well!

What's scaring me is that his illness is so serious that he is out for the season
I love this guy...the classic Cleveland blue collar player, not to mention a solid player
Get well soon buddy! My prayers are with you

I wish him well whatever it is.
Godspeed Tuck.

I'll take a wild guess and go at the staff infection angle.
They had the Cleveland clinic come in,the cases have been numerous and I'm sure this would be something they wish to keep quiet. I have nothing to substantiate it,but it's just a hunch.

Well EO got his boy Parker back which I think is a good thing. Parker had made strides since not playing much at Rutgers. I couldn't be happier than to see Rob Smith called up. I liked his work ethic in training camp and I am wondering if he will get a chance to show us anything during the remainder of the year. He could possibly be our only center after this season is over.
As for Tucker, I think we need to just give him our prayers and stop guessing at his problems. He doesn't want it known and our wild speculation could lead to rumors getting started.

I was excited seeing Tucker come back and had hopes he is over his illness but I guess not. Get well soon Tucker, you'll be in my prayers.

As for Tucker, I think we need to just give him our prayers and stop guessing at his problems. He doesn't want it known and our wild speculation could lead to rumors getting started. Of course I wish him all the best. But it is it simply more of the staff infection problem continuing to rear it's ugly head and the team wishing to keep it quiet by calling it a "non football injury" or is it Tucker wanted it kept quiet? I doubt my totally unsubstantiated suspicions will cause any major media rumors. I don't think I wield quite that much power,do you?

I hope you're right in your suspicions Pit... I don't know why, but as soon as I had heard weeks ago that we all should just keep Tuck in our prayerrs, the big 'C' word immediately jumped into mind. I have absolutely nothing to substantiate it, but that's been my fear for him

I was talking about people in general. You're one comment is harmless. The fact that it is listed as a non football injury tells me it has nothing to do with any football injury or infection from an injury. Those have to be reported to the league.

Just to join in the speculation, is it possible Tucker could have some sort of mental condition like the one that got the best of Barrit Robbins a few years back. It seems like linemen are prone to that kind of thing.
Whatever it is I wish him the best.

That's the first thought that crossed my mind too.
And P,if it was a cut or scrape that was not "football related" that got infected somehwhere "unsubstantiated" it may very well not be qualified as a "football related injury".
Let's just all hope for the best.

Barrit Robbins I believe suffers from Bi polar. I'm somewhat of an expert since I have suffered from it for over 25 years. It is important to know not everyone who suffers from mental illness have the same problems. If he did suffer from something like that it is possible that he can become healthy enough to play again. This is just speculation for all we know it could just be some kind of virus.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6218006CLEVELAND (AP) - Browns right tackle Ryan Tucker will miss the rest of the season because of an undisclosed illness. Tucker was placed on the non-football illness list Tuesday after missing the second half of Sunday's 30-0 loss against Cincinnati. Tucker, a team captain, started nine games this year but missed two because of the illness: Oct. 29 against the New York Jets and Nov. 5 at San Diego. The 31-year-old Tucker wouldn't reveal what the nature of his illness was after returning to the team Nov. 8, saying it was irrelevant. He had said he was back to normal. Tucker had been Cleveland's steadiest member of an offensive line that has been in constant flux because of injuries and personnel changes in recent years. He made 62 starts over the past four seasons. The Browns also made a series of other moves. They placed defensive lineman Ethan Kelley on injured reserve, signed free-agent defensive lineman J'Vonne Parker, signed offensive lineman Rob Smith from the practice squad and signed defensive lineman Alvin Smith to the practice squad. Kelley injured his knee Sunday against Cincinnati. He appeared in 11 games and had 22 tackles. Parker was waived at the end of training camp by the Browns and was claimed by Dallas, where he appeared in two games before being waived Nov. 7. He played in four games for the Browns last year.

Browns stadium has been known to have some infections and pathogens floating around in there.....Hopefully its just a nagging virus that will go away and he will be bcak at full strength next year....
I hope its not life or career threatening though....

Like I said Ryan needs to be in our prayers. As crazy as we all are about the Browns, lets remember a mans health, and his family are more important than a game. My family will keep Ryan and his family in our prayers.

i think we are owed an explanation at least. but hey, whats it matter. this season was lost long ago anyway. Why,,, why is it important for us to know what his illness is,,,, He's out for the year,, Tucker doesn't owe us anything. That's all we really need to know. And all this speculation is kinda making me sick,,, As for the year being over and lost,, we have five games left,, I'm real glad you don't play for the Browns,,.

My thought was that whatever illness he has it's sensitive enough that he doesn't want to have to explain how he got it. And if it was a staph infection or cancer I really don't see the need for such secrecy. Whatever, my best wishes go out to him.

really don't see the need for such secrecy. With all due respect, it's none of our buisness, sometimes as humans we dont have to know what it is, we just know to pray for the person.

My point was I doubt that there would be such secrecy if it was an "expected" illness. Such as the aforementioned staph infection or even, God forbid, Cancer. However, if it's something that could be considered embarassing or the way he contracted it is embarassing then I can see the reason for the secrecy.
Of course, you can always say it's none of our business, which is true. Doesn't stop me from wondering.

We think wow, hope it isnt career ending, we might wanna move him to guard, next year, than I think wait, he's got a family, kids, wife, hopes and dreams which strach long after his football career is over, man, I just hope he's ok....kinda makes football just what it is, a game...Yes were Browns fans so it does mean a little more at times like January thru December but I also have to tell myself it's just a game....

Tyler, you might be on to something. I know that WKNR loves the rumors and to stir things, but someone was speculating or talking about rumors of panic attacks on the radio yesterday. Whatver it is, I hope Tucker nothing but the best no matter what is wrong.

Well, this is more of a reason to make a move for Thomas and move Schaffer over to RT. We can still fill the guard spots with Hank/LB and Sowells/draft.
