i'm cheering for both of them and for Indiana since they are big ten. I really though we had a chance to have 3 big ten teams in the elite 8.... hopefully we'll get at least two... but Kentucky is going to be a TOUGH re-match.
If we can get past Syracuse I think OSU will go to the national championship game. We can beat Kansas or UNC. Unfortunately Syracuse is the toughest team they play all year.

Their defense is stifling... I really think we can beat them but our defense has to be great... Sulley has to have a huge game down low... and we need to hit our outside shots... i really hope that Bufford and Craft can hit a few more of their shots tomorrow.
I dont see this game being decided by more than 8. NCST is playing is an incredible amount of confidence which is what was lacking the 2 times they got drubbed by UNC during the regular season, its why they didnt close out the Duke game and didnt put up much of a fight during the Florida State game.
They have that confidence now and I think can beat anyone in the country. If any team wouldve given them trouble, it wouldve been Georgetown because of their length and they showed they can beat them.
Kansas is very good, but I'm not sure they play disciplined enough to hold down the NCST offense. They dont have a good answer for Lorenzo Brown as Tyshawn Taylor is a loose cannon when it comes to being disciplined. Thomas Robinson isnt a great defender (good shot blocker, but not great in 1-on-1 situations). Withey is overrated and Howell is a harder worker on the glass than Withey is. They dont have anyone to match up with Scott Wood (to stay tight on him) and CJ Williams is a great defender that can handle Elijah Johnson.
This just seems like a good matchup for State. Either way...I see it ending up about a 3-5 pt game either way. But im pullin for my boys at State!

Craft? is the only guy who can really slash and get to the hoop but I don't think he can do that consistently over 40 minutes, especially with how Thad doesn't sub his guys.

the teams that give Cuse the most troubles are the ones that have a frontcourt player that can move up in the zone to the middle, receive a pass and move the ball to either corner. it gives their rotations fits.

What a great game. OU just refused to go away. In the end, it's tough to get one over on a team with as much talent as North Carolina. Needed NC to play poorly and OU needed to play perfectly. For a while, that was working.
Once it got to OT, NC's talent just took over. But OU has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.
Definitely agree with you. They represented the MAC very well. I felt the refs were a bit unfair at times but you'll always have that. In the end it came down to OU being unable to score in OT.
Now onto The Lady Rockets taking on a tough Syracuse team tomorrow.
Just some thoughts on tomorrow. It's going to be interesting to see if not having Fab effects Syracuse tomorrow. If his loss is ever going to hurt Cuse it would be against OSU. Sully and Deshaun have to dominate. Buford has to wake up and dominate. Superstars have to be superstars in games like this. Finding cracks in the 2-3 zone is half the battle. Aaron has to play as hard as he possibly can against Waiters. NO MENTAL LAPSES take the fight to Syracuse from beginning to end. Get the 50/50 balls. This will be OSUs toughest game in a long time.
Absolutely proud of the team, coaches and everyone associated with the OU basketball team. They exceeded EVERYONE'S expectations. They gave us life long memories in Nashville and St Louis. If only for the last two weeks, they put Ohio on the national sports map....but man I can't shake this game.
We had them down 4, ~3 minutes to go, WITH the ball...and a fast-break layup in front of us. The fact that it got blocked was a flashback to the 2005 NCAA tournament first round against defending national champion Florida. In that game we had it tied late in the 2nd half. Jeremy Fears (there's a blast from the past) got a steal for a wide open dunk to take the lead...except he MISSED it. Florida promptly came down and hit a 3 to take the lead for good.
Then tonight, we refuse to give up and fight back YET AGAIN. Walter Offutt blows by his man with a drive, bucket AND 1 with 25 seconds to go to take the 1 point lead. That was the ballgame right there. We are actually knocking off UNC and heading to the Elite 8!.....And he missed the FT.
You absolutely can not fault Cooper or Offutt because they played their hearts out and without them we're not even in the NCAA tournament let alone the Sweet Sixteen, but my God....we had them...that game was OUrs.
A once in a lifetime opportunity. How often does OU make it to the Sweet 16? Not only that, how often do they get a team missing their starting PG? On top of that, how often will the above happen AND WE'LL HAVE A LEAD with under a minute to go? Once in a lifetime, that's how often....and we didn't capitalize. Let it slip right away. Now I know personally how Butler felt after losing to Duke.

It was a great run and they proved it was no fluke last night.
It is better to have played and lost than to have not played at all.
Hopefully this garners the MAC a little more respect in the future. I can't help but wonder if they even give OU an at large if they lost the MAC title game. Which would've been a travesty but we've seen a lot of 25+ win MAC teams over the years sent to the NIT after losing the conference title game.

It won't. The KSU run of a decade ago didn't help - this won't either. For two MAC teams to make the tourney, they'll have to be tremendous all season - beating some big boys in the early portion of the season, winning a good "bracket buster" game and dominating conference play and meet in the Championship game at the Q... I just don't see that happening.
Their's usually one good team and several pretty good teams in the conference and that's not good enough.
It would be nice if once - just once in my lifetime, lol - my Rockets actually made the thing.
