And I disagree with you on Terrence Jones. I don't think he's going to be a very good pro. He's weak with the ball around the rim, disappears at times. At 6'8, he's a tad small to play the 4, but he doesn't have the ball handling ability to play a 3.

I think Jones needs to come back next year. I don't think he's going to, but I think he should.

I would take Michael Kidd-Gilchrist #1 overall in the draft, even ahead of Anthony Davis.

I'm one of the people who believe you don't build around a big man. Granted, Davis isn't your typical big man and can step out and play on the perimeter, which is why he's one of the FEW big men I would consider taking so high, but in MKG, you get a 6'7 slasher with a 7'0 wingspan who plays defense? That's an NBA GM's dream. If he gets to the NBA and develops his jumpshot a little more, he is going to be deadly.

I don't think jones is a future HOF'er, but I think he can improve, and be a really good pro.

I agree about MKG, that dude has all kinds of potential. I wish he'd stay another year because I think he'd have a chance to solidify the #1 overall pick.

I think all these NBA GM's see a ton in Davis though. If his body fills out, he could be an animal, especially with how he's really comfortable hitting that 15 footer.

He might not be the freak that Dwight Howard is, but I see some similiarities, but like I said, the fact that he can shoot away from the hoop unlike Howard, has GM's drooling.

I agree about the big man though, unless you're getting Tim Duncan, or Howard, the others just aren't all that different.

MKG is well on his way to the #2 overall pick, so I don't think staying a year and getting #1 overall is going to do much for him.

it will depend on who gets the #2 selection though, unlike #1 overall who will obviously take Davis no matter what.

I see Davis as a better version of Marcus Camby.. I don't see him being able to add the weight to his frame..I think that will give him trouble at the next level. As far as pure athletes, KIdd-Gilchrist, and Royce White have the talent that translates the most at the next level. I would take them ahead of Davis just on upside alone.

MKG has a serious flaw, his shooting range.

Prior to Thad Matta's arrival at Ohio State the school record for wins in a season was 27. In 8 years, Matta is averaging 27.6 W's a season.

Kansas is like us. They rely heavily on their starting 5 because they have no bench to speak of. They damn near shot 60% against us. We can't let them hit nine 3's again. Our defense has improved. With Sully I doubt they beat us on the boards. Deshaun and Thomas canceled each other out. Kansas got hot shooting and we shot awfully. I feel that our starting 5 is flat out better than their starting 5, especially considering how Lenzelle has stepped up. If OSU plays how they played they will beat Kansas.

A lot easier to hit all those 3's at Allen Fieldhouse than in the Superdome in front of all those people.

It's been a long time since Kentucky has been THE favorite. We've had years that we were one of the handful of favorites, but last time we were the team that was SUPPOSED to win was probably 96'.

Kinda makes for a less enjoyable tournament, really.

Last year, we weren't supposed to make the Final Four, so every win was exciting. This year, we win a game, and it's more relief than excitement.

I was thinking, this, regardless of who wins the two Final Four games, is going to be one of the best final games in terms of national powerhouses in a long time.

Gonna be a fun Final Four

i'm just going to enjoy what we have.

first, a matchup of the 2 best PFs in college basketball along with 2 great teams that beat you with defense first.

then, a matchup of the most stocked NBA-talent in college facing off against a team with a stifling defense that happens to be their biggest rival and coached by their ex-HC

Kentucky is the biggest Final Four favorite since UNLV in 1990.

In the "expected" title game, Kentucky would be a 2-1 favorite over Ohio State.

The 8.5 point spread of Louisville is the largest Final Four spread since Duke over Michigan State in 1999.

Kentucky is -500 money line over Louisville.

Kentucky is 2/3 favorites to win it all.

No pressure, right?

Yeah... the only kink in Kentucky's armor that I see is their relative youth. The only chance I see of them losing is if things don't go well early on against Louisville and they start to press. That would play right into Louisville's hand because they are really scrappy on defense and can pester teams to death.

That said, I'd still be shocked if they lost Saturday. Louisville's offense would have to have an unprecedented game to keep up, I think. I just don't see that happening.

2 problems:

1. the entire Cal-DDR offense is predicated on only shooting 3pt jumpers when you can't get anything else going inside.

2. noone has been able to stay in front of Kentucky all season long, what does any of the last few teams have that would change that?

honestly, if the Bucks had a dominant 7fter in the middle, then with their wing defenders and Craft, maybe you could squint and think you could slow them down. as it is, it's going to be awfully tough.

I have someone to congratulate if the Buckeyes lose but I hope they win.

If OSU wants to win, Craft has to make Tyshawn Taylors life miserable. Make him as uncomfortable as possible. Also Buford needs to make tough shots. Kansas lacks any sort of depth. Their bench is equal to ours. So it will be mostly our starting 5 vs their starting 5. Our defenses are about equal but I feel our offense is slightly better and more balanced. Just don't let them get hot shooting.

Keys for Kentucky :

Win the turnover battle - The first game was as close as it was (13 points with seconds to go before Russ Smith hit 2 meaningless threes) because we turned the ball over 20 times in that game. Teague has improved 100% since that game, but how will he handle the pressure of his first Final Four? If he struggles, can Doron Lamb, a guy with Final Four experience handle the ball against the Louisville press?

Stay out of foul trouble - This team goes with Anthony Davis. Things that don't show up in the box score make this team go. Take him out of the lineup, and the Louisville zone becomes more effective because Davis isn't underneath to find cracks in the zone and catch easy lobs.

Darius Miller - Senior, been to an Elite 8 and now his 2nd Final Four. He's gotta keep the team calm under the pressure of the moment. He's gotta be the on-floor leader.

Win the rebounding battle - We're bigger, better, more athletic at every position on the court. We SHOULD have a pretty heavy rebounding advantage. If we let Louisville beat us tot he 50/50 balls, it could be a long night, however.
