Yep. First half, Kansas was getting nothing in transition, now they're making the game a lot more fast paced and they're capitalizing.

Sully has played freaking awful in this game.

Well, Robinson is no slouch.

Ohio St. is getting lucky that Kansas is missing some gimmes, too. Buckeyes could easily be down this half.

How did they not call that foul?

Tough loss, considering the halftime lead, but pretty much the reason I had Kansas beating them in my bracket.

8-33 to be exact. Plus we got outrebounded by 11. Still Don't know why Thomas was jacking up the last 2 shots. Buford was hot, even Smith Jr, but Thomas was off all night. Size has always given Sullinger trouble. No disrespect to Jeff Withey, but he's no Anthony Davis. Unless Sullinger becomes a spot up shooter, and occasional post-up player, he will struggle at the next level. Nothing really has changed since last year.

We need to start recruiting bigger players. I love Sully but damn I hate undersized big men with a passion. It's a huge handicap not having a shot blocker.

J/C ... what's the rule on the shooter passing the free-throw line? Can he not make a movement towards the rim till the ball hits the rim? Can he not pass the line at all, or can he not step over the line? They blew that dead almost immediately, and on the replay it was a lot closer than I thought at first glance. It looked like he hadn't taken a step across the line when it hit the rim, but his body was definitely over.

And what's the rule on the guards on free-throws as well? I remember Jordan running in from the arc and dunking home missed free-throws a couple of times.

Sully was our entire offense, he is very skilled but he was a complete liability on defense as well. Plus OSU could never establish any resemblance of a transition offense.

I thought Amir Williams was going to be that guy..Then you would've moved Sully to the 4, Thomas to the 3, leaving Buford and Craft as the guards.. Smith Jr, could've been the spark off the bench. But for whatever reason, Williams never really took off this year.

This is about as tough as a loss you will see. Had this team on the ropes, couldn't put them away.. Led the whole friggin game.. Thomas getting into foul trouble was the whole game.. Even his presence on the floor opens things up for Craft and Smith Jr. Either way Kentucky should win fairly comfortable. Davis will neutralize Robinson. I don't see Kansas being able to score enough to win..

I would still take that disadvantage.. We would've been way stronger inside. Plus you have to take into account what a mismatch he would've been for the other guy on defense. At the end of the day, we didn't play well enough in the 2nd half to win.

Next year OSU will be a potentially better defensive team if Amir and Sam Thompson start. Just pray that Deshaun Thomas stays or the offense will be a train wreck.

OSU had a good year. They were the 4th best team in the country, IMO.

1 more game though!

Fans back in Lexington, Ky., rioted in the streets following the Kentucky Wildcats’ Final Four win tonight over the Louisville Cardinals, according to the independent student newspaper The Kentucky Kernel.

The Kernel reports that cars were flipped, windows were smashed and multiple fires were started on State Street shortly after UK’s 69-61 win at the Superdome in New Orleans. Police were forced to release pepper spray on a crowd that included fans on top of cars.

A couch fire was reported at Rose and Maxwell streets shortly after 9 p.m.; several others started shortly thereafter. A police scanner reported an injury from a beer bottle on Conn Terrace as well.

Post-game revelry in Lexington turned to destruction and fire-setting Saturday night as University of Kentucky fans swarmed the streets surrounding campus, prompting police in riot gear to move in.

College antics in alcohol-fueled celebrations of UK's Final Four victory quickly escalated, as young people set couches and two cars ablaze and hurled beer cans into clusters of party-goers.

Firefighters responded to about 50 nuisance fires, mostly couches set afire on purpose, according to Battalion Chief Ed Davis of the Lexington Fire Department. Ten people were injured, he said.

Two car fires were set on State Street.

A spokeswoman for the city said several people had been arrested, though the number remained unclear. There had not been any mass arrests, she said.

Alcohol was everywhere and bottles smashed throughout the area.

Police in riot gear patrolled the party areas and sprayed fire extinguishers on fans who attempted to damage vehicles.


Police attempted to clear the street, moving in twice by 10:20 p.m., but it wasn't until about 11 p.m. that the crowd began to disperse significantly.

Before then, revelers climbed on car tops, flipped three vehicles on State Street to the cheers of others and attempted to flip others while fans chanted "Cats, Cats, Cats."

UK and Lexington police — expecting a rowdy night — had increased patrols on campus and prepared to close streets in party areas. A triage center was opened at a fire station on Woodland Avenue.


Authorities issued an advance warning to fans that fires and vandalism would result in arrests, but parties and drinking started early.

"They try to flip a car. Police push them off and they try to flip another one," said Logan Johnson, a UK freshman. "It's pretty crazy. We are going to the championship. I don't blame people."

UK junior Michael Soto said he had never seen anything like it.

"Bourbon Street doesn't have anything on State Street," he said.

Joey Frederick, who joined the revelry in Lexington, said Saturday's win warranted a party on campus. "We are the best team in America," he said. "I think houses should burn." (really?)

In stark contrast, about 100 University of Louisville students gathered peacefully on Cardinal Boulevard after the game, cheering as though their team had won.

"They had to fight for it," said Tombo Owen, an 18-year-old freshman who waved a U of L flag within the mass of fans.

The crowd was mostly jubilant, though at one point a UK bag was briefly lit ablaze.

Cardinal Boulevard was blocked to traffic at about 4 p.m. between Third and Fourth streets, as university police had announced they would do earlier in the week. But with no incidents of trouble reported anywhere on campus, the road was reopened to traffic at about 9 p.m., after the post-game revelry began to subside, said John Drees, a university spokesman.

Fans gathering in front of the Cardinal Towne development chanted Cards slogans, as well as a few anti-Cats slogans. A group of women on a nearby balcony shouted at passing motorists.

"I've never been more proud to be a U of L student," said Charles Leonard, a 20-year-old sophomore. "They played their hearts out. You can't ask for more."

Demetrius Ellery, 36, watched the game at the Cluckers restaurant in Cardinal Towne, along with many other fans.

Ellery said he thought the Cardinals didn't play well enough to win — and he wished Kentucky the best in the national championship game.

"Why shouldn't we be happy for the other team?" he said.

Fans of UK and U of L celebrated on Broadway near 26th Street in a low-key gathering of people hanging out on the sidewalks and cars cruising the street. Police were stationed in the area, but no traffic had to be diverted and the celebration remained peaceful.

If Deshaun stays OSU will be very good next year. Two years from now they will compete for a title again.

We had like the #2 recruiting class of 2011 on the bench. OSU has a ton of talent to work with. Lenzelle and Aaron will probably play until their senior years. So they will lock down our back court. Just need some depth behind them.

It comes down to how Amir Williams develops. We have a ton of athletic talented wing men. Sam Thompson, Laquinton Ross, Jordan Sibert and Marc Loving who is already committed in 2013. If guys develop we won't need Sully, Deshaun or William.

"They're just college kids being college kids."

That's what I heard when Indiana did this crap after beating us, just saying.

For the record, I think it's sick. Act like you've been there before. These kids are making the fans who have been there before, who expect this out of Kentucky basketball look bad.

For the record, If you go to the UK boards, I'd say about 75-80% of the posters agree with me on this, that it's pathetic.

If we win tonight, I'll probably do a shot, make some drunk phone calls, go home, go to bed and wake up and start thinking about recruiting for next year

Rumors are that anyone arrested tonight for "rioting" would be kicked out of school.

I never understood the setting fires part of celebrating. I'm 30 years old and the only championship I ever truly celebrated was the Buckeyes in '03, and I could barely make it home 2 blocks away that night from the party at my friends house, let alone flip over cars and set stuff on fire.

I did celebrate the Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup, but it wasn't that big of a deal to me because I am not a lifelong fan. I didn't even go to the parade because for me it wasn't right.
