But wait -- that's almost too easy, right? Of course, the Browns have plenty of other options at No. 4, and here's a quick look at some of them:

1. Trade up: If the Browns have fallen madly in love with one of their Fab Four, they might actually have to trade up to No. 3 with Minnesota to get him. The Vikings seem set on USC left tackle Matt Kalil, but for a huge haul, they might deal the pick. Teams might be willing to jump up over the Browns for any one of their likely four faves, especially Tannehill and Blackmon. The Rams at No. 6 love Blackmon, and now have the extra picks to swing a deal. The Dolphins at No. 8 might like Tannehill enough to beat the Browns to the punch. Their new offensive coordinator Mike Sherman, was Tannehill's head coach at Texas A&M.

After reading this I just have to say that "I miss Tony Grossi!"

I'm going to have to go to WKNR's website to read what he's saying.

So you're saying that there is no possibility whatsoever that the Browns absolutely fall in love with a player and move to 3 to make 100% sure that they don't lose out on him too?

It's unlikely, IMHO, but she did say that the Browns have other options, and made a list of them. What the hell is wrong with that? She brings up Tannehill as a possibility, and if the team did love him, and were scared that they were going to get jumped again, then they might make a move to 3.

I'd be madder than hell ........ but it is a possibility.

He was kicked out of a Bowl Game (along with Alfonzo Dennard) for getting into a fist-a-cuffs match.

That's just unacceptable. He's a headcase waiting to happen and the weigh issues are likely to be an ongoing problem.

Yeah, that weight thing should be a major red flag ... Anyone remember Mike Williams? He had that problem too IIRC.

I suggest you go watch the tape -- Dennard punched him twice, and Jeffery pushes him back.

He never in a million years should have gotten tossed.

Also - he weighed in at 216 at the combine.

I keep thinking who it could possibly be that they would move up to get..

Richardson...Naaa,, he'll be there at 4 unless the Vikings think that AP is done.. Anyone think that AP is done? I can't think of anyone who would give up some other picks to move up to get Richardson. I'm sticking with he'll be there at 4.

Blackmon... Rams will go for Blackmon if he's there at 6,, I suppose if they covet him enough, they may want to move up to get him if they think we'll draft him..that's possible

Kalil: This is the guy that almost every draft guru thinks the Vikes want and he's supposedly is good enough to take at 3 for sure. This could cause a Problem I suppose. Let's say that St.Louis wants Blackmon, Vikings know that we don't want Kalil, so they take the trade with the Rams and jump ahead of us to to take whoever they want. Richardson, Blackmon, Claiborne.... we won't take Kalil so they Rams know they are safe...

Otherwise, I don't see anyone wanting that 3rd pick enough to take anyone we want.. Whose gonna give up 2 or 3 or 4 picks to move up a couple of spots to get any player not named Luck or RG3?

Like I said, I'm no draftnik, that's for damned sure, but thats what I see...

Not quite. I'm saying that if they want to remain employed next season, they wouldn't do that.

I noticed that there was more to the article, but she started off listing as the first option the trade up. That's just flat-out stupid unless they're going up to #1. If they trade up from #4 to #3, they'd be morons and that she would choose to suggest that as her lead in discussing the options is just as moronic.

Quote:

If a team wants to move up to #3 to get Tannehill, they're even more stupid than the Redskins for moving up from #6 to #2.

It's a possibility that Mary Kay could have begun listing more reasonable options first and then listing s£ch a ludicrous idea last or not even mentioning it at all. She didn't.

The Rams certainly have the ammo to leap frog us, but the vikings would be stupid to make that deal, because if the Rams make an offer for the 3rd selection it will be for Kalil, who I think is the Vikings best option.

The only other partner in a trade with the Vikings would be Miami to have the rights to leap frog us to draft Tannehill, in such case I think that they could be out smarting themselves, but that's a possibility too.

I think that our best case scenario with the combination of picks 4, 22 and 37, would be to come out with WR, QB and RT.

We can get a club later.

I don't care if Dennard said that he was having sexual relations with Jeffery's mother and had a sex tape to prove it and then called him 'son' and smacked him. Jeffery's response shows he can't keep his cool and he was rightfully removed from the game.

And 'never in a million years'? Really! The evidence you cited disproves your own statement.

He didn't make it up. That's why Jeffery has dropped from a top 10 pick to be considered a 2nd to 3rd. The kid IS a headcase.

The same people that say Blackmon is T.O. like in attitude also love Jeffrey... I don't get it. I would rather take Cocky over dumb@SS anyday.

And this is your dream receiver out of this draft????

Keep in mind his weight went up after the year was done too. He has horrible work ethic, terrible route runner, lacks speed off the line, tries to bull people over instead of cutting. He has BUST written all over him. And he is a headcase.

He weighed in at 6'4" 216 at the combine. His weight really couldn't have gone up much during the offseason.

That's the ONLY weight we know for certain.

There are legitimate concerns about his top end speed - that's what will control his stock. Even given that - he's been (statistically) a better deep ball threat than Kendall Wright over the last two years - with much poorer QB play.

If he runs sub 4.5 - he will be a top 15 pick for sure. If he runs in the 4.5 range, he will be coming off the board around pick 22. We would get a steal in the 2nd round if he runs around 4.6

I'm no guru,, rarely been right so take this with a grain of salt, I don't think Tannehill is going to be viewed as anything special except by his old college coach (sherman),, I think he'll be there when Miami picks and if they don't take him, he'll be there until the second round.. JMHO

after Luck and RG3, there really isn't a guy that I'd want in the 1st round,, so I'd rather WR, RB and RT.. you can switch the first two around if you like, but who as a QB is worth it...

We can get a club later.

Brandon Weeden imo he has 7 years to be where PM is today at 36 years old with a new 5 year contract and he would also give us better competition and would hedge our bets better then some QB we might find later in the Draft or God forbid Sceneca Wallace.

By the time he is PM's age we will also have 7 more opportunities to find another QB as well.

WR, RT, QB or WR, QB, RT.

If we draft Tannehill

QB, WR, RT or QB, RT, WR.

Your not going to get the value of any of those 3 positions in round 3 as you will with a RB.

If we pass on Blackmon I don't think the Rams will at 6, but Fisher is not the type of Coach who will ignore his OL and if they trade up to 3 it will be for Kalil.

Thanks for posting that, L. I thought the same thing when I watched the game a few weeks ago. Jeffrey got a raw deal, and it was a good result overall for Nebraska.

Honestly, the only pick I would be alright with is the Blackmon one.

Jeffery is a headcase. Adams isn't as good as some think. Dennard either.

Who do you have in mind as the LB to be selected?

So you wouldn't be happy with Blackmon and Richardson? I just listened to Matt Miller and he was talking about Jeffrey who he has as his #1 rated WR and the issues they had at QB. I think this is an absolutely horrible LB draft. I can't stand David or Brown. The only LB's I like are Hightower in the first and Burfict in the 4th. Adams might not be as good as some think but that's only if you think of him as a first rounder. He is a great 2nd round selection and the Senior Bowl and how he performed this year should cement that. I'm not a big fan of Dennard but was just giving options of who will be available in that slot and like Kirkpatrick and Claiborne way more.

Well, a couple of things.

I'd be willing to bet that there is no way at all the Browns draft Blackmon at 4. Zero. Zilch. None. Nada. If I had to guess their draft board looks like this .... Claiborne .... Richardson ..... Tannehill .... Blackmon. I just don't even see Blackmon as a consideration at all if we stay at 4.

However, we need to make the Rams think otherwise. I wonder if the Browns are feeding Cabot some info to make her write Blackmon at 4. Wouldn't surprise me. But here the thing .... I think absolutely the Browns would deal with the Rams and take the best deal for the franchise. I'd guess the Rams hav the Browns on ignore after our illustrious President accused them of nepotism in public.

I seriously think they have blackmon over tannehill. Tannehill is such a reach at 4. I would say its Richardson, Blackmon, Claiborne, or trade out of 4 to the teens for Tannehill. They could get a better QB next year.

I see elite receiver qualities in the kid. Dream draft Richardson at 4. Miami passes on Tannehill and we get him at 22. Land Jeffery at 37 and get swartz at 68. Use those 2 4ths to get back into the 3rd and get Green.

If Holmgren thinks he can play another season with Colt McCoy as the Quarterback, he's guaranteeing this team wins 5 games or less.

Trent Richardson is still a ? but Colt McCoy is a solid # best Quarterback in this league.
There's not that much question as to what Colt McCoy is anymore and it's clear there are so many better Qb's than him in this league, whether its 30, or 35, or more, you can debate, But you really can't honestly say he's better than one of the worst starting Qb's in this league.
And He's not getting any better, and new talent coming into the league. I don't think there's any way a team with one of the worst Qb's can expect to even win 6 or 7, especially coming from the context of what happened last year.

The only variable is if somehow Matt Childress were to work some kind of miracle transformation of McCoy's play but I doubt it.

That's why I think they should take Tannehill and make explanations for it later.
Give us some hope !

Here's mine

1a, Blackmon
1b, Martin, RT or Weeden
2, Weeden or Schwartz
3, Best RB available
4a, Best DB available
4b, Lewis, Wil

The rest like in most years are harder to project.

Tannehill is a question mark, but he has more upside. McCoy peaked week 2 of last year.
I think they should take that gamble.

The acquisition of Trent Richardson plus next best WR will give our offense more weapons. If we fix our RT in round 2, I could bear another year with Colt McCoy. What I won't be able to bear is wasting a first round pick on second round talent. And I won't be able to bear a year of hearing Tannehill chants if McCoy craps it up with the same receiving corps either.

Colt McCoy Peaked in his 10th game as a pro? Even with two different offenses with crap around him and a lockout filled off season after being a third round pick that shouldn't have seen the field his first year to begin with but was our best QB when he did? Throw in that he had no OC and his starting WR was so bad he was cut mid stream that couldn't see the field on a hapless Jaguars team, his best Receiver was a Converted RB that hasn't played in a year and all the other crap that went wrong.

Colt will be fine for this year with an offseason and some weapons around him and those saying he peaked will be shocked what just those things will do for a QB.

I don't think that you could get both Blackmon and Richardson. Even if you could, I would prefer to get my RB no higher than the 2nd round. I think you could get quality backs much further down in the draft, even into the 4th and 5th rounds.

Even considering drafting Burfict is ridiculous. I wouldn't take him with a 7th round compensatory pick.

Adams might not be as good as some think but that's only if you think of him as a first rounder. He is a great 2nd round selection and the Senior Bowl and how he performed this year should cement that.

Maybe so, but I wouldn't take him in the 2nd when I think that the RT that the Browns need and who'll be just as good will be able to be selected in the 3rd or 4th rounds.

I'm not a big fan of Dennard but was just giving options of who will be available in that slot and like Kirkpatrick and Claiborne way more.

I like Claiborne but I'm not a big fan of dopeheads (Kirkpatrick) and numbskulls (Dennard).

I don't think that you could get both Blackmon and Richardson. Even if you could, I would prefer to get my RB no higher than the 2nd round. I think you could get quality backs much further down in the draft, even into the 4th and 5th rounds.

You don't think you could get both? Maybe you just missed the part where I showed the trade value to move up to 14 if he should drop there, but even still would prefer a 4th or 5th round pick over attempting to obtain both with only giving up pick 68. Okay, not me. I would give up 68 to get Richardson everyday of the week and twice on Sunday's over a Chris Polk type back.

Pardon me, but who is Matt Miller?

I think he is a former scout and creator of NFL Draft Scout if I remember right.

Ehh..A good player that shined on a marginal defense. 73rd in the Country giving up 400 yards a game and 31 TD's in the ACC.

I don't care one way or the other, give me a RT that is young and healthy and possesses the Qualities we look for and is capable of stepping in day 1.

Can they play and help us win..that's all I care about at this point. Kirkpatrick can smoke a blunt before the game for all I care if he can play at a high level. How does what he does in his personal life affect me? It doesn't and it doesn't mean he is a bad person. If he was a molester or abused a woman or a ganbanger I would feel differently. Obviously he needs to follow the rules but that would not deter me from selecting him unless I knew he was a morally bad person.

You may not think drug use is a big deal, but the NFL does ..... and they do suspend players for drug use.

I have no issue with players smoking pot. What I have an issue with is a player getting caught smoking. Getting hit for a drug test or something (like being in a car with someone driving on the wrong side of the road with pot in the car).

That's just stupidity and poor judgement. Does it make Kirkpatrick a bad guy that he was in that situation? No, not really. May be if it was him driving on the wrong side of the road.

But it does show that he doesn't THINK. Doesn't make good choices. All he had to do was not screw up before the combine. Why get in a car with someone with weed? And why screw around? I love to smoke when I can and I get that opportunity less and less, but even when I was smoking more often in the past few years, I never screwed around. Buy it, go home. If you want to bring it somewhere, bring small amounts so you can eat it if you get pulled over.

There's just too much at stake to make those kind of mistakes.

Right now, I would go

1 Tannehill QB
1b Cordy Glenn RT
2 Doug Martin RB
3 Brian Quick WR

Wow, just wow. All I can say. These boards have gone off the deep end. Is mangini running this draft? Any mock with tanny at four is a waste. Wr no sooner than our fourth pick?

Tanny at four? I have some nice aisle 35 yrd line psls for sale if so.
