We got lucky, DEN traded away 2 conditional 6th rounders and since they only had 1 and our trade was 1st we get their 5th instead...Denver messed up, good for us

It says from Denver, is that the Brady Quinn trade?
Maybe a condition was Hillis getting a % of snaps last year or being on the team this year?

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I honestly cannot believe how much we got for Quinn.

I would have expected a used jock and a can of soup .... or maybe a ham sandwich ...... but we actually got quite a bit for him. (even with Hillis leaving this year)

Nope Django hit it on the head.

We got Denver's 6th in the Quinn-Hillis trade. Later, Denver traded another conditional pick to Philadelphia (I believe) which ended up becoming a 6th.

Since they only had 1 6th but owed one to us AND one to Philly, by league rules since we got the pick first it got bumped up to their 5th round pick.

Lucky for us.

Well, they got a 4th and a 6th, which would include a higher pick than any we got ....... but we did just fine as well.

yeah, I'll take Hillis' one good year, a 5th and a 6th over a 4th and a 6th.

Well, and if we don't sign anyone else in free agency, we might add a compensatory pick as well.

I look at those picks as an opportunity to add better depth that what we have.

I look at some of the LB's on our roster and shake my head...

At the final cut day last year, I came up with 32 players that were locks to make the roster. That is horrible. Final cuts, you should be deciding between about 8 guys for 3 spots.

Those 5-7 rounders have a legitimate chance to make the roster and also to compete for playing time. The bottom end of this draft is loaded more so than in most years.

Your right Mour, Over the years, it's just ingrained in me that very rarely does anyone in Rd. 4 & below ever even gets to final cut. Shoot how many 3rd rounders have we let go thru the years? But thats been 25 -35 yrs.ago Time flys when your losing

Just realized that I have a basketball game at 8:00 on the 26th. So, I am going to try my best to hear nothing about the draft until I get home and can watch the DVR'd first round. Hopefully I'll catch up quickly and I'll be able to get in the chatroom to read all the complaints ASAP.

I'll take it anyway it comes - minus a ham sandwich.

Pick 160 vs 194
