edited because I was stupid. very, very stupid and someone had us taking 2 RBs (or 3 if you thought I picked the 'other' Martin) (1) Who you THINK the Browns will pick in rounds 1-4*I think this one is funny because Heckert has been great at throwing curve balls at us in his 2 drafts 1a Richardson 1b Martin 2 Jeffrey 3 B.Wagner 4a Cousins 4b Fleming (2) Who you WANT the Browns to pick in rounds 1-4 1a Richardson 1b Sanu 2 Osemele 3 R.Brooks 4a B.Brooks 4b S.Spence (3) STEALS (round 2 or later players) **optional*only listing guys that could be there after round3 J.Bequette - situational guy, but one we could use B.Brooks B.Washington S.Spence T.Lewis N.Foles B.Osweiler BJ Coleman - ? read lots of good things but I haven't actually seen him Marvin Jones R.Broyles - PUP candidate causing stock to be lower than it should be Bolden - considered 1st round talent before knee injury - full year recovery now C.Sensabaugh T.Johnson - a CB who could be a FS candidate (good size and speed) Turbin Pead (4) TURDS **optional *likely top3 round guys only R.Randall D.Poe - especially if in a 4-3 Q.Coples A.Branch S.Hill K.Wright - the more I watch of him, the more it just looks like RGIII ran long enough for the DBs to eventually lose track of him. I don't see the elite route-running and crispness in cuts that Maclin had (and if we use a 1st rounder on him he needs to be our Maclin) Z.Brown J.Hosley

Heckert threw a curveball last year, but the year before we were expected to take Haden, everyone had us taking Haden, and we took Haden.
My guy to take, and who I think we'll take is Richardson.
My late round gem is McNutt.

(1) 1st WR Blackmon, QB Weeden 2nd RT Massie or OLB Z.Brown 3rd RB L.James or WR AJ Jenkins 4th OLB Wilber, WR K.Martin or RB Gray
(2) 1st CB Claiborne and QB Weeden 2nd DE Curry or WR Sanu or QB Weeden 3rd RT Schwartz or CB Fleming 4th RB Gray and DE Bequette...many others I like here
(3) See players mentioned above from 2nd on minus Weeden, who is a coin flip gamble
(4) Floyd, Poe, N.Perry, Branch, J.Jenkins, M.Adams, Massie, B.Quick...normally have much more, this draft is loaded with "meh" guys for me and even this list can have some PBowlers in it, not 100% "turn off" players for me but I just wouldn't gamble a Top 70 pick on any of them but I could see Heckert liking some of them...I just hope we don't pick more than 1 of them, none would be better of course...it also depends on the PRICE we paid for them...example: I'd be "ok" with Floyd at 22, but not if we traded 37 and some 2012 picks to trade up to get him, would hate it...

I'm just going to go with guys I like and guys I don't like.
Guys I like:
Trent Richardson David DeCastro Morris Claiborne Melvin Ingram Quinton Coples (so overrated that he's now underrated) Luke Kuechly Courtney Upshaw Nick Perry Michael Floyd Vinny Curry Donta Hightower Lamar Miller David Wilson Vontaze Burfict (his 2010 season at ASU was amazing, pick him late, if he doesn't act right, cut him) Jared Crick LaMichael James Travis Lewis Sean Spence Nick Toon Janoris Jenkins (as a second round pick he is worth the gamble) Ryan Lindley Kellen Moore (Will be a great third QB)
Guys I don't like: Justin Blackmon Ryan Tannehill Dontari Poe Devon Still Doug Martin Alshon Jeffrey (never like a guy who can get as out of shape as he did) Chase Minnifield (Microfracture surgery) B.J. Coleman

I want @4 Matt Kalil @22 Riley Reiff @ 37 Alshon Jeffery @67 David Wilson
I doubt this draft would happen that way, but if it did... I don't think anyone could complain. We actually would have a team that is built solid on both sides of the trenches.
That would be a first in 30 years....
I do see Richardson @ 4 and Reiley or Martin or HIll at 22

Good lord.
Teams need a competent OL, a great QB, and a coupe of playmakers. I don't know of any great Super Bowl winning team with 4 first round picks on the OL.

Did you just make that comment to make it or do you know that no NFL super bowl winning teams have 4 first round OL?

i don't know if he knows it for sure.. but I've looked into the best OLs of the last 10 years and most of them have 1 (maybe 2) first round picks, a couple 3rd roundish picks and most even have a 5th or UDFA on them...
As for your comment that nobody would complain.. I don't know of too many people who would NOT complain..

fair enough...
I get that most people won't like it at first but... a few years in and the OL is beast- i'm sure at that point no one would complain.
I would be ok with getting just a RT and drafting more best rated players

I don't know for sure, but I have looked at many of the top OL in the NFL, and it sure seems like most have 1 or 2 first round picks at most.
The best teams seem to use most of their high picks on a QB and playmakers, not OL. Many great teams have late round and even UDFA on the OL.
The Patriots had one of the top OL last year. The had 2 first round picks, a 2nd, (Light near the end of his career) and 2 UDFA. Their 1st rounders were 6 years apart.
The Saints had a great OL last year. They had 2 fourth round picks, 2 5ths, and an UDFA.
The Packers had a 1st rounder, 2 fourths, a 7th, and an UDFA.
The Giants had 3 seconds, a 3rd, and a 5th.
The Ravens are about the only team I know of with 3 first rounders on the OL, (one being Bryant McKinney near the end of his career) they have 3 firsts, a 3rd, and a 6th.
The Broncos have a first, 2 seconds, a 3rd and a 5th.
The Steelers have 2 firsts, a 2nd, a 3rd and an UDFA.
Not a lot of lines with as many as 2 first rounders, let alone 3 or 4. It seems that if a team has more than 2 first rounders, one was signed as an older FA, like McKinney.

The 49ers OL is..
Staley, 1st round, 28 overall 2007 Iupati, 1st round, 17 overall 2010 Goodwin, 5th round, 154 overall 2002 Snyder, 3rd round, 94 overall 2005 Davis, 1st round, 11 overall 2010
and they have a very good OL... they also have Frank Gore, Vernon Davis, Michael Crabtree... They were good last year, we will see if they are able to sustain it. They are still more the exception than the rule compared to other good OLs around the league.

man... replace Tannehill with Blackmon in that first draft and I'll learn to do backflips.

You know, The Draft is 3 days away and for some reason, that #4 pick of Richardson is almost a no brainer! But then again, we are talking about the Browns! I just pray Heckert does not screw this one up!

We used up our no brainer when we didn't overpay for RGIII, this makes me fearful we'll screw this one up.

No brainer is something you dont have to even think about. Taking a RB top 10 is anything but a no brainer!and taking one at 4 you better be thinking long and hard and then you better go back and rethink it and just to be sure you might want to think on it again lol.

They have 3 first round picks .... a 3rd and a 5th starting on their OL. They allowed 44 sackes and 82 QB hits last year. Since we know from certain posters on the board that this is entirely and completely on the OL, and that the QB plays no part in his own protection, then their OL sucks at pass pro.
Staley. Iupati, and Davis are their 1st rounders, their 3rd rounder is Snyder, and they also have former Jets 5th rounder Goodwin.

It's a no-brainer if you have him ranked as the top player in the draft (or LEFT in the draft) -- which many do -- and it happens to fill a need. Doesn't really matter what position it is when you're sitting at #4 and practically every position on your roster is in need of an upgrade. Pick the best player. If TR is the best player, I'm all for taking him and not looking back.
