Obviously, I'm not expecting anyone to post as many prospects as me, but if you'd like to give your top 10, 20, 50, or whatever choices for the Browns, do so here! Not necessarily who you think are the absolute best players, but your order of preference for acquiring guys for the Browns. For example, I think Matt Kalil is probably a better overall OT, but for me at RT, I'd rather the Browns take Cordy Glenn.

Check it out, and fire away!

that is fantastic. i'll try to put something together over the weekend if i have the time.

anyways, I am wondering how much you factored 'need' vs. 'BPA' vs. 'positional value' on that board. I think they all need to be somewhat factored and just curious to how you weighted them. Thanks.

Well, I look at the draft as "how do I improve my team most with the picks that I have?"

I kind of did it a dumb way... Just started off with the top 500 players in CBS' list in excel and put a 'y' next to a player I'd be interested in us drafting, then I looked at it and said "would I rather have this guy than that guy? this guy than that guy?"

If you want to do something like this... I highly suggest you assign your positional rank before looking at all of them together. That's where I messed up.

Sorting and filtering in excel is pretty critical

For the record... i would only draft 2 WRs, 2 RBs, 1 OG, 1 OT, 1 C, 1 QB, 2 OLB, 1 CB, 1 FS, 1 SS, 1 QB, 1 FB.

***edit*** you can see how some of the positions tend to clump together... so there's obviously some need/positional value going on there.

Yeah, there were a couple I completely left off just because where I would put them is so far from the realm of possibility of where they'd be available that I didn't see the point.

Brown's Big Board

!. Luck
2. Griffin
3. Richardson
4. Blackmon
5. Kalil
6. Dre Kirpatrick
7. Claiborne
8. Reiff
9. Melvin Ingram
10. dontari Poe

11. Mercilus
12. Decastro
13. Floyd
14. Kuechly
15. Barron
16. Upshaw
17. Hightower
18. Jonathan Martin
19. Cordy Glenn
20. Fletcher Cox

I like Kirpatrick better then Claiborne.
Martin better then Glenn.
And would rather have Richardson/Blackmon before Kalil because I feel we can find that bulldozer of RT later in draft.
No knocks on Kalil's play but he's tad small for RT.

I'm only going top ten because there are already a few posts and a couple have some things I totally disagree with.

1. Luck
2. Griffin
3. Richardson
4. Claiborne
5. Kalil
6. Cox
7. Ingram
8. Blackmon
9. Floyd
10. DeCastro

I don't see how anyone could have Blackmon ahead of Claiborne. I know it is based on need a little bit, but Blackmon is not an elite wide receiver talent, he is just the best wide receiver in this draft.

Well, I disagree with the idea he's not elite, and Heckert says he disagrees with it FWIW.

As your italics implies, you can't believe anything these guys say this time of the year. I think Blackmon might fall out of the top ten and I wouldn't be shocked if Floyd got drafted before him.

well, if that was true, they would probably want Claiborne ahead of Blackmon on their boards, no?

Dude, if you enjoy doing it, that's great... but who has the time to evaluate 150 players unless it's their job. (and that's just the 150 that made the list, I assume you looked at others who did not make the top 150)...

That's a ton of work.

I do notice that in our first 3 slots you have RB, WR, OT... Coincidence?

Well, I've been pretty obsessed with this stuff all offseason (like I am every offseason) so it really didn't take me that long to make this list once I sat down to do it.

Lol, yeah I didn't even notice that. Subliminal, maybe?

That is a lot of players. I think I have a problem.

The good news is, there's a lot to like about the top 6 guys. It will be tough for us to screw it up.

Unless you ask Mourg... he'll tell you we're going to screw it up.

Interesting that you have Kendall Wright as #8.

I dont' think Dre Kirkpatrick is 1st round ready.

Top guys I wouldn't take if you gave me an extra pick.

Dre Kirkpatrick cb
Luke Kuechley ilb
Mike Adams Ot
Stephen Gilmore.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I'd like Richardson, but hasn't he already had a torn meniscus and a sports hernia?

Richardson had a very minor scope done on his knee, IIRC to clean out a small piece of tissue.

I don't recall hearing anything about a sports hernia with regards to Richardson.

Read an article somewhere today that said he played with a torn meniscus or however you spell it during their bowl game.

Here are my top guys, if I were running the Browns.

1. Luck
2. Griffin III
3. Richardson
4. Claiborne
5. Kalil
6. Blackmon
7. Ingram
8. DeCastro
9. Kuechly
10. Floyd
11. Gilmore
12. Reiff
13. Barron
14. Tannehill
15. Cox
16. Martin
17. Wright
18. Hill
19. Coples
20. Poe
21. Mercilus
22. Glenn

If this were true (not saying it is) then I think we have a chance to get a guy like Richardson and 4, and a great shot at a top tier tackle at 22.

I'm still BPA on most every pick though. I don't really care about the RB shelf life, I want good players for now, I'm not worried about 12 years from now.

Richardson helps in many departments and could be the spark that this franchise needs.

Also, it's just one pick. This organization and regime will not be made/broken on this one pick, but as a whole. The last few years have been good, very solid. They're going to do the right thing.

I am kind of bummed that it doesn't seem like their is a big time LB in this draft. I have seen Kuechly play, and he's very good, but I don't see anyone that really really sticks out.

I've heard many people say that Floyd might be the better prospect if he didn't have DUI's. If I'm not mistaken, the NFL has a service that lets you call them if you are drunk and they can drive you home. He can score a few TDs on Sunday and then use the service after the game. Also, I think Floyd would be the better compliment to Greg Little as Blackmon and Little seem similar. I like the idea of Glittle being a #2 and Mass as a #3 (Keep Cribbs on special teams only). Mass showed as a rookie he could do ok as a #2 but failed miserably as a #1. If we draft Floyd we are good at WR and I think there are good 2nd round pick RBs.

Ive recently seen a draft where Reiff falls to the Browns with the 22 pick. I would love that or Glenn.

“He played with a torn meniscus in the BCS Championship Game and ran for [nearly] 100 yards,” Boyd said. “He played the whole season the year before with a sports hernia."

I'd rather have Floyd because you can keep him happy with just a few shots of bourbon.

I understand the train of thought that has Floyd as a better prospect than Blackmon (he's bigger, as fast or faster, good route-runner, smooth). I think he's not as physical with DBs and can struggle in traffic, but I can see the argument.

However, to denigrate Richardson because of injuries is foolish when trying to build up Floyd. He has had injuries and they are the type that tend to recur as well (ankles and hamstrings)

that's what I am hoping happens. My dream draft is:

Richardson
Reiff/Glenn
Sanu

I would also be happy with:

Blackmon
Reiff/Glenn
Miller/Wilson/Martin - I like Miller the most, but I might be the only one
