I won't because I don't want to end up in a neckbrace

the last time I tried one of those I hurt my back. I'm extremely co-ordinated when it comes to playing sports, but that all goes out the window for anything even slightly gymnastics related
i'll gladly chug a beer though

I know you've all waited long for this , so here goes: QB Tier 1 (good shot at elite franchise QB) 1. Luck 2. RG3 Tier 2 (good gamble on pretty good NFL QB, similar ceiling to tier 1, much lower floor though) 3. Weeden 4. Tannehill -------------------- cut, no more NFL-good ceiling imho Tier 3 (backups with a DA-flash season or 2 at best, "tease"-QBs teams will waste time on) 5. Lindley 6. Cousins 7. Osweiler 8. Foles Tier 4a (undersized overachievers, the "Next-McCoys") 9a. R.Wilson 10a. GJ Kinne 11a. Harnish 12a. Persa 13a. Moore 14a. Hansen 15a. Keenum Tier 4b (longshots, but there may be a Fitzgerald or Romo in there, improbable though...would take most in this tier over any in tier 4 due to higher ceiling) 9b. Brantley 10b.Coleman 11b. Witt 12b. Corp 13b. Tanney Tier 5 (Athletic but meh) 16. D.Thomas 17. J.Harris 18. D.Davis 19. Jefferson To be continued....will post other positions in seperate posts

Check out Austin Davis' game v. Houston on youtube. It was very windy that day and you can tell it took him a while to get used to it, but he made some terrific throws in the 2nd quarter and 2nd half. He needs some time, but he has skills IMO.

RB
Tier 1 (3 down workhorses) 1 Richardson 2 Martin 3a Turbin 3b Gray 3c Polk (those 3 are pretty close for me, coin flip close)
Tier 2 (Elite-Speed complimetary, think Spiller/Bush ceiling) 4 Miller 5 Wilson
Tier 3 (Mix of tier 1 and 2, could be a J.Charles in there) 6 Pead 7 James 8 Pierce
Tier 4 (Still solid, good bets...some will outplay this tier, some will be out of the league fast, mostly complimentary RBs here) 9 Hillman 10 Ballard 11 M.Smith 12 C.Rainey 13 Baker 14 Herrron 15 Bolden 16 B.Rainey
Tier 5 (Samkon Gado-tier, there might be a 1-2 year wonder in here, mostly 3rd RBs or GL RBs though, small school sleepers inside) 17 A.Thomas 18 Ganaway 19 Poole 20 Dunbar 21 K.Turner 22 R.Stewart 23 Creer 24 Megette

Ive recently seen a draft where Reiff falls to the Browns with the 22 pick. I would love that or Glenn.

that's what I am hoping happens. My dream draft is:
Richardson Reiff/Glenn Sanu

Here's my curveball, this ranking is "different"
WR
Tier 1 (Good to Great ceiling and very high floor, sure bets, at worst pretty good no2 WR) 1 Blackmon 2 Sanu 3 Jeffery 4 M.Jones
Tier 2 (Great talent with your typical WR brain, think BE, boom/bust or tease, would be off my Top 100) 5 Floyd 6 D.Jones
Tier 3 (Very talented but either underachieved or very raw) 7 Hill 8 Randle
Tier 4 (Elite slot-WR with no2 upside) 9 Wright 10 Jenkins
Tier 5 (Overrated, wouldn't draft in Top 100) 11 Givens 12 Childs 13 Quick Tier 6 (mid-late round value, mostly no2 only or slot WR only here) 14 Criner 15 Toon 16 Broyles 17 Adams 17b J.Wright 19 TY Hilton 20 Matthews 21 Streeter 22 McNutt 23 K.Martin 24 Cunningham 25 Page 26 J.White 27 Coale 28 Wylie 29 Maze 30 TJ Graham 31 Boykin

Well I do like David and Glenn in that order as far as best prospects left.
If both are on I reluctantly take Glenn just because we are currently hopeless at RT and so many things rely on having a serviceable one.

If Haden wants it. And if the team is comfortable with his character...I wouldn't whine about it. He's a top 15 talent IMO.

Using my big board with no trades, we would have drafted: 4. Justin Blackmon, WR Oklahoma St (my #3) 22. Cordy Glenn, OT Georgia (my #7) 37. Lavonte David, LB Nabraska (my #15) 67. Brandon Boykin, CB Georgia (my #17) I'm sure lots of people on here would have been upset with that outcome, too. Of course, Tampa wouldn't have traded up for Doug Martin if they had taken Richardson, and we don't know who the Giants would have taken when presented with Doug Martin and David Wilson. May have gotten my #1, #7, and #13 with no trades.

If I were drafting, I think I would try to get Rainey and McNutt in the 4th. We could finish completely revitalizing our RB corp, and upgrade our receivers in one round.
I think that I would look at a QB late in this draft ... a bigger, stronger am type who could be a legitimate backup to Weeden in a year or 2. I would also look for a different veteran backup who understands that he is the backup, and he will see the field only in the event of injury. I feel that Wallace would play politics if he stays here. We don't need that.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

No offense, but I like the real draft better.

My board says #56 Antonio Allen, but since all the other slot guys I like are taken, I'd make a 1-pick reach here...

I wonder how nervous we are about that FB of ours' concussion issue
Maercic. I really was excÔted about him. The guy who played started on offense, defense, and special teams for Stanford University. But last year he got like two concussions, may be three?

Some hits and misses, other notes...
1 *Andrew Luck QB 1 Stanford duh 2 *Robert Griffin III QB 2 Baylor duh 3 *Justin Blackmon WR 1 Oklahoma State led all rookies in receiving 4 *Trent Richardson RB 1 Alabama played hurt all year 5 Michael Floyd WR 2 Notre Dame had no QB or OL, too early to throw the book at him, but doesn't look good 6 *Morris Claiborne CB 1 LSU ups and downs, 7 Cordy Glenn OT 1 Georgia look at the production of Spiller this year, few Buff team sacks 8 Kendall Wright WR 3 Baylor led all rookie WRs in YAC, was why I liked him despite bad QB play 9 *Dre Kirkpatrick CB 2 Alabama injured for most of season 10 *Matt Kalil OT 2 Southern California Was a stud and played a big part in the Vikings' success 11 *Riley Reiff OT 3 Iowa Detroit used him as a backup LT, I had him rated this high as a RT 12 *Whitney Mercilus DE 1 Illinois Was a backup to Connor Barwin on a team deep at the position. Likely starter next year. 13 Doug Martin RB 2 Boise State Best rookie RB, I believe I had him rated higher than anyone 14 *Luke Kuechly OLB 1 Boston College DROY as LB 15 Lavonte David OLB 2 Nebraska super productive weakside LB for TB. Big time hit. 16 Bobby Wagner OLB 3 Utah State Instant starter and great contributor on terrific Seattle Defense. Also believe I had him higher than anyone else. 17 Brandon Boykin CB 3 Georgia Fell to the fourth but may have been Philly's best corner this year. 18 *Alshon Jeffery WR 4 South Carolina Didn't make the impact I thought he would in Chicago, but wasn't bad, either 19 Brandon Brooks OG 1 Miami (Ohio) Another guy drafted by Houston at a position they were deep, no drafted starters 20 *Michael Brockers DT 1 LSU Had his moments this year for the Rams. PFF grades him as good v the run. 21 *Fletcher Cox DT 2 Mississippi State I have this as yellow because I didn't have him rated as highly as other people and he was pretty good. Granted, this list was for the Browns, but I had him below others. Still the second DT, though. 22 *Stephen Hill WR 5 Georgia Tech He was just bad. I bought into the hype too much. 23 *Stephon Gilmore CB 4 South Carolina Green because I wasn't as high on him as other people, and he played closer to my expectations… just OK as a rookie. 24 Mitchell Schwartz OT 4 California My fourth-ranked guy at OT and probably the third-best one. Played better than some other guys that were more highly-rated. 26 Alfonzo Dennard CB 5 Nebraska He played really well for a rookie, and wasn't suspended for punching the cop since he was drafted by the Pats. 27 Janoris Jenkins CB 6 North Alabama Lots of people didn't even want to draft him, but he may have been the best rookie CB… candidates are him, Heyward and Boykin 30 Greg Childs WR 6 Arkansas Gary Baxter'ed in August. Was walking by October. Book is not written yet. 40 Melvin Ingram DE 4 South Carolina Was mostly ineffective with the Chargers as a rookie, despite being touted as a top-10 guy. 66 *Marcus Forston DT 6 Miami (Fla.) Ended the season on New England's active roster after many thought he was undraftable 71 Harrison Smith SS 4 Notre Dame I way underrated this guy. He was excellent as a rookie. 73 Russell Wilson QB 3 Wisconsin My third-rated QB of 2012. Did anyone else have him rated as third-best? 89 Casey Hayward CB 11 Vanderbilt He was a stud in the slot and I missed out on him. 91 Akiem Hicks DT 8 Regina I had him rated highly (4th round target.) Was considered a reach in the third but played very well. 93 Leonard Johnson CB 13 Iowa State Some say he had a good rookie season, but Tampa is said to need two corners, so how good is he? 101 *Bernard Pierce RB 9 Temple He had a very good rookie season. Should have been rated higher. 104 Vick Ballard RB 12 Mississippi State Got a lot of carries, but not a lot of production. Needs to be replaced. 105 Kirk Cousins QB 5 Michigan State My fifth-rated QB, played well when he got the opportunity.

Pretty good job overall Steve, as always. Some gutsy calls too...love this archived draft section, good job refs while we're at it

I'm really interested to see everyone's top 6 for the upcoming draft.
I'm not sure how I would do mine, but I'm kind of excited that it seems like the stars will align for us to finally get that primo LB/DE guy that goes after QB's. I've been dying for one for years and maybe this is finally the year.

Knowing me, I'll probably make a new one of these before the draft comes up (after the combine and watching more stuff on the internet {yay!}) Though I have to say, I don't feel as strongly about my opinions this year as I did last year. Won't keep me from telling people "I'm right" semi-anonymously over the internet, though! Here's my top 6 for the Browns as of now: (might change by tomorrow, or this evening) 1. CB - Dee Milliner, Alabama only because I like him so much better than the corners likely to be available at 68 and hope a good rusher will be there 2. 3-4 OLB - Damontre Moore, Texas A&M I think he's a more impactful player than Milliner, but maximizing our resources to me says take the stud CB now and hope for Jenkins/Carradine at 68. 3. 3-4 DE - Star Lotuleili, Utah Stud player at (IMO) a position of need. I don't think my #2 or #3 options have a real shot of making it to our pick, though. 4. 3-4 OLB - Jarvis Jones, Georgia Guys with stenosis don't have a good track record in the NFL, and his size (242#) is very atypical of successful 3-4 OLBs. Still his production is very, very tough for me to ignore over the past 2 years. 5. OG - Chance Warmack, AlabamaI was one of the loudest opponents of taking Decastro last year, but that was more because I didn't think he was that good than about OG value. I think Warmack is really good and would make Richardson much better. 6. FS - Matt Elam, Florida (!) (!) Here's a little guy who can hit! And cover. I was watching the Louisville v. Florida game again last night and Elam looked like the only guy from Florida that came to play.

I want a pass rusher so bad, but I would not complain if we grabbed Elam because we could sure use help on that back line.

I will talk him out of your Top 10 until draft day Seriously though, I watched some play-by-play tape on Jefferson, Swearinger and Elam. Where to start...they're 3 VERY different types of safeties From a motor and tackling perspective Elam is top notch. He CAN and WANTS TO tackle. I can easily see why so many fall in love with him and I like it too...a player like that ALWAYS has a high floor and Elam is the "safest" of the 3 picks because of this...NFL coaches don't like to trust young S with tackling issues Now the problem though: he absolutely SUCKS in man coverage...and by that I not only mean he's giving up height, that's only part of his problem. his biggest problem I see is that he is a REACTONARY guy in coverage, he simply reacts to what his man does or the opponent closest to him in zone, he has no coverage "feel"...that's a BIG problem as he will get OWNED in the NFL playing FS like that. Overall I see a clear cut SS prospect and an overall good one at that but I saw him struggle even staying with TEs in man coverage...he's got to improve there to be one of the better SS in the NFL but I think he has the will and work ethic to do so. He reminds me a lot of TJ Ward in style and strengths/weaknesses Jefferson is very close to getting kicked OFF my board alltogether...I'll watch 1 or 2 more games but dude is an alibi-tackler and nothing special in coverage from what I've seen...I've seen him SHY AWAY from making an important stop tackle(!), that's alarming, he does not want to play the run at all and is all about the big play in coverage On to Swearinger: For what we need I like him the most of those 3, but I'm not sold on him yet, as he too isn't a very good or willing tackler, but of these 3 he is clearly the most intelligent S, constantly reading the QB's eye, positioning himself perfectly in mid-coverage...really outstanding zone feel and while he doesn't like to throw his body around like Elam he understands when he HAS TO and at least throws a hard shoulder or goes at the feet of the runner/receiver, but he gets the job done by stopping the play somehow. His strengths/weaknesses SCREAM FS to me Take it fwiw...I'll now watch some Redi and Vaccaro to get a better feel for this S class

One guy I hope to look into a little is Brandan Bishop of NC State. If you have a chance to watch any of him I'd love to hear what you think of him.
Rontez Miles looked decent in the Texas vs. the Nation game in both pass and run, but the competition there isn't great and the QB play was awful. He also looked like he might have been smaller than the 6', 196# he is listed at on cbs.
I think we could do a lot worse than Shawn Williams. I think he's better than his more highly-touted teammate.
I hope to check out more of Cyprien, Wilcox, and Taylor as well. Probably won't have time this year, though.
Ray-Ray Armstrong, man I wish this guy gave two craps about playing. He played in the Texas vs. the Nation game and was extremely comfortable and talented, but was playing well without showing a bit of effort. He just seems like he'll be one of those guys out of the league in two years despite having all the talent in the world.

Wow, Reid is ranked no1 S by these "experts"? What the hell are they seeing? I saw a good looking, pretty athletic S that has little to no instincts in coverage and is boom or bust against the run. He's pretty inconsistent, but in coverage he just sits deep most of the time not really showing any instincts to what where the ball will go, he just reacts and trusts his recovery speed. A true SS/FS tweener and not in the good sense as I'm not sure he can play either at NFL level, never saw him in man coverage in any snap Rambo: he is a pure FS, as he absolutely HATES to make contact. Major red flag. I saw him get dragged for 5+yds multiple times trying to tackle anywhere on the field. On 3rd&short yds he's useless. He gets lined up behind the LOS and escorts the runner over the 1st down marker, he does not deliver hits, pure drag tackler, but only if he has to. That said, he is a pretty decent coverage FS, who's in position most of the time when a throw goes to him, but he has some misses too, ok overall though, but I'm not sure it can offset his lack of tackling. He's the anti-Elam, a complete 180 McDonald: I think I have to review my premature Mays-comps, although many scouts have been quoted saying this, but what I saw was a surprisingly active S. Good body language, willing tackler, plays close to the line a lot and blitzes some, looks like a LB and often lines up as S/OLB hybrid. In the game I saw (Stanford) he was near perfect for 3 Qtrs, covering TEs (owning Toilolo, good battles vs Ertz, some won, some lost) and then had 2-3 bad plays when the game was on the line, strange...all of a sudden he took bad angles to runs etc. I'll have to watch more, but think projecting him to FS is just that: a projection, he hasn't played there much. Would be a HUGE SS ...not that anyone cares: but Vaccaro up next

That's what I thought the past season watching these two guys, except you must have seen Rambo cover better than I did. I think he's a dud.
