If someone handed me that to wear, I'd also have the urge to lower my pants to the point I couldn't take a full stride, add a 10lb gold plated chain around my neck and I'd be a 50 something gansta! Now if I could just learn to do some old white guy rap...

The kids who wear them will one day look back and realize just how stupid they looked wearing them . The power mullet I had in High School is proof of that.

Hahaha. Every generation has their own version of goofy. Everyone looks back and laughs about hairstyles and fashion from their youth.

No doubt.

There is a pic of me in this lime green leisure suit and red tie about 6 inches wide I wish didn't exist.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

jc...

I'm finding it kind of funny how many people have said that the Indians hat I posted was ugly, or that they'd never wear it, or whatever. It's the New Era 59Fifty, which is the same fitted baseball cap that you can find just about anywhere, and that every guy that plays for the Tribe (and every other team in the MLB) wears day in and day out.

Why is that funny?

Just because other people wear it doesn't mean it still doesn't feel uncomfortable on my head...

People have different tastes, yo.

I've got a nice UT hat that I'll don upon my ginormous cranium when it's sunny or rainy out. It's a nice hat that I got from the military bowl this past January. Definitely like it better than the weird flat bills of today. Also have a nice giant brown tear drop fedora that I'll wear from time to time as well.

Um, because if it was a picture of the exact same hat, except that the brim was curved, nobody would've said that it was ugly? Or maybe nobody realizes that the "flat brimmed ball caps" that look so awful are the exact same caps as the ones 99% of people who wear fitted ball caps are wearing, as if the hats with flat brims and hats with curved brims aren't identical products. I find that difficult to believe, but the way this thread is going, maybe that's the case.

Look at the sagging pants discussion..it'd be like seeing somebody wearing saggy pants and noticing that they're Levi's, and thus deciding to not wear Levi's because you saw guy wearing them hanging halfway off his ass. It's not what's being worn, its how its being worn.

And that's where you're wrong...

The 59fifty's and most flat bill's are constructed differently than the average hat...

Perhaps I should go grab a couple of my 59Fifty caps with their nicely curved brims and demonstrate otherwise?

The 59Fifty is the average hat. It is the quintessential baseball cap.

What baseball players wear has nothing to do with how a 59fifty feels on my head.

Aka, differently than any of the hats I own.

Hat style I wear.

Flat billed style.

If you can't see a difference in the shape of those two(and not I'm not talking about the bill), then I dunno what to tell you...

I'm not sure what how a particular hat fits on your head has to do with anything, but whatever. I don't know how to state my point any more plainly than I already have, so I'll just say that if you take one of those hideous flat brimmed ball caps and bend the brim, you get a nice non-hideous ball cap. Same hat. Nothing changed except bending the brim. No other difference. Fits great. Looks great. It's easy. I've been doing it for nearly 20 years.

Aside from being (IMO) an ugly design, and the slightly lower crown, it looks no different at all than the 59Fifty I'm wearing right now.

I agree I think it looks dumb when people wear a flat rimmed hat. I always got the impression they were trying to be cool or something. I usually wear Franchise brand fitted hats because I think they're the best around. And you have to curve your bill some. That would be very awkward if you just put the hat on after buying it without making it your own.

Side Note: It's almost impossible to find a good Cleveland Browns hat.

That'll change now that New Era has the rights to NFL.

Oh no, it's a flat bill!
