because alot more goes into winning than just the QB position. because Vince Young looked lost in the WCO in Philly (albeit small sample size)? because Vince Young has some severe mental issues that noone is sure that he has worked through yet?

I'm a little disappointed that nobody pointed out the slight difference between McCoy and Bradford!

VY is better than both Colt and Seneca. I have been saying this the entire offseason. He's got more than twice the number of wins of both QBs combined!
And winning may not be everything, but it is a big indicator. Look at the other guys on the top of that list. And what about all the times VY saved a Titans season that was heading for the toilet?
I just think if he came on, it would bring the offense a different energy and swagger. The guy is a big athlete and throws a great deep ball. It would bring something totally different than what we have now.

Jeff Fisher couldn't get through to him,, why on earth do you think someone here can?

Jeff Fisher absolutely did not want him and he was out to prove Bud Adams wrong. Don't even get started defending Fisher. VY saved his job twice and all he did to repay him was replace him with Kerry Collins. How'd that work out?

Oh Come on... you are going to have to prove to me that Fisher would sabotage his career and the team just because he preferred a different pick.
If VY was all that and a bag of chips, in this QB starved league, he'd be getting a ton of action.. he's not.
You may love the guy if you want..but you may well be all alone.

Although not often cited, Yards Per Attempt is one of the stats most correlated with success in a QB.

Vince will land a backup job somewhere after the draft when teams know if they need one or not.
to give the list some context: if you did this list last offseason, then Colt would be 12th (7.1YPA) if you put Eli's first 4 seasons on this list, then he would come in at 34th (6.3YPA)

Makes it even more accurate, in my opinion. Eli's first four years were very inconsistent, then he made a huge jump. Colt was much better his first year than last year, where he regressed when we put him under center.

YPA is a good tool for evaluating the past, but it is not a predictor of future success.
We have stats in baseball like xFIP, BABIP and such that can help prognosticate future value of players and who was lucky or unlucky in the past. In football, there seems to be so much tied to systems, other players, and random ascension (sometimes) that it's impossible to look at those results and say anything about the future with trust (which is what we want to do).
that was my point.

Well, Vince Young's yards per attempt since 2009 is 7.6. That is when he showed a major improvement in the passing game.
I still say the data clearly shows he is worthy of being a backup to Colt should Colt falter. VY is a more proven commodity than either Colt or Seneca.

Notice that McCoy is higher than Bradford..
Not good enough, but better than a player that's costing 50 million bucks and doesn't have anything other than Jackson around him.
QB 's can't do it alone so none of these lists mean diddlely

he's also a 58% passer averaging just over 145yards/game since then with a 24:19 TD:INT ratio.
