The success rate for those guys is very low.

plus we had extra picks to give up anyway

TB obviously wanted Richardson (they immediately trade down after our trade-up --- and they trade back into the 1st for D.Martin who is a poor-man's Richardson)

at least Richardson is someone we can get excited about in the lead-up to the season.

The fact is, people can continue saying we gave up too much and that Richardson would have been there at 4 blah blah blah, but no one knows.

No one on this board was in the draft room.

Like I posted earlier, the conversation may have very well gone like this ...

"Look, we know Tampa is offering you more, but this is the best we can do, we're happy to stay at 4 and take Kalil"

Then Minnesota decided to take LESS from us, only go back to 4, so they didn't lose Kalil.

Did that happen? I don't know, but no one else knows how that played out either

This draft is ridiculously deep at WR.

and as we showed yesterday in the Blackmon thread, everyone seems to have a completely different list of where to put those WR. so, we can very likely get one of our top guys in round3 or trade back into round2 because guys like AJ Jenkins are going off the board before the better guys (IMHO).

I understood your point. No one expected Irvin to go in the 1st round but if you were targeting him in the 2nd guess what - you lose out because Seattle jumped the gun.

Which btw, I think was much more of a reach than Weeden.

Am I perfect? No
Am I trying to be a better person?
