You better trust Heckert because the writeup on John Hughes http://t.co/uOUxMsvv includes the words "lazy" "poor effort"

This one is a real head scratcher to me.
I understand every pick in this draft ...... until this one.
Well, 3 out of 4 isn't bad, I guess.

Can't wait to hear Heckert and Holmgren's press conference about this draft.
Get ready for the "We're happy with the receivers we have" quote once again.

Did we get a WR in a trade somewhere? Why do we need a DT with Rubin and Taylor? They already have backups.

To be fair, they really don't have a backup DT.
But no way in hell we should have taken a backup DT in the 3rd damn round.
you had a good run Hank.

hahaha! this just keeps getting better!
This draft is wrapping up to be EXACTLY like Savage's 2007 Draft....only 1 draft pick is any good (Richardson for Heckert, and Thomas for Savage) and the rest of the draft sucked!
Richardson was the only pick Heckert couldn't mess up because just like Thomas he is probably the 2nd best overall player in the entire draft.
This entire draft has just been awful...looks like another year of 4-12....3-13...sounds about right.
We done nothing in FA, all the good Wr that can come in and do anything are off the board or going off the board fast....this is just a collosal mess up.
Weeden will have no one to throw to....Richardson will be the only offense we have this year.....

And they also "supposedly" told McCoy that they wouldn't draft a QB in the first. I wouldn't believe a word they say when they are trying to backtrack from their thoughts.

If they did tell McCoy that, then I'm glad they lied to him.
I feel so much better about the QB position today compared to how I felt the day before yesterday.

When do they leave? Worse draft I've watched in years. Mangini's 2009 looks genius in comparison.

now now guys remember we signed "Frostee Rucker" as our big free agent pick up...oh yeah thats right...hes a DL huh? a backup DL from the Bengals?
2nd hardest schedule in the league....this year has all the makings of a very very very bad year.....it could get very ugly...if Weeden goes down and Richardson, God forbid, gets hurt...your looking at 1-15....this is sad...

Lets see what B-EASY is doing these days. He is a free agent and would be better than any of the guys who will be left now

this. scares. me.
I don't think Heckert has ever done this before? maybe he had a nervous breakdown in the draft room and an intern is making the picks? wait.. they wouldn't pick that bad. maybe it was Randy?
Hunter + Dart = This is the way.

Hughes just said in his conference call that he invited his entire family over tomorrow since he thought he'd get picked late.

I believe dumbfounded sums it up.
Reach on Weeden, Reach on Schwartz, Massive reach on Hughes.
Had the Browns just taken the players that fell in to their lap, it would likely be:
Richardson, Decastro, Weeden, Posey. I'd trade that draft for every remaining pick we have.

Its a 3rd round pick...what's the big deal?
Rarely do 3rd rounders start...Sanu wasn't there neither was Randle. After 1st and 2nd round you are looking for depth guys and growth guys.Hughes is a big body (which this front office loves) and will be depth behind Rubin and Taylor. I don't see the harm.
Go Browns!!

Nope,I just hate the way he plays QB.
I don't mean that I am happy if they lied to him ..... more that I am happy that we did take a QB.

So you're ok with a 3rd round pick that we could have had as a UDFA?

Yeah....this draft might look good next year with TRich and MS we probably win a few more games. However, five years down the road we are going to be left with one solid starter in MS and not much else....and I understand the TRich pick and like it.
I fully expect us to be looking for another FO in the next couple of years....sadly.
PS...After listening to enough of his press conferences Heckert is an arrogant douche.
Against logic, the most effective armor is willful ignorance.

ha. not even close on this team... the first 4-5 rounds should all be starters and not reaches of epic proportions.

Normally I would agree but when we're talking about a guy who was projected 7th round/ free agent it's tough to feel good about it.
The draft really isn't as bad as some are making it out to be. I'm pretty happy with it so far, except for this pick. It's time to stop ignoring receiver.

Considering our track record with WR's in the second round ... I don't know why everyone expected us to get a world beater WR in the third round.
Still ... the last three picks seem to have been pretty big reaches ... but I'm not jumping of bridges like some of the guys around here.
