Even with a pop out, that's a lot of pitches that other hitters got to see. That can definitely help ..... guys see how much bite a guy has on a sinker, or how much movement on a fastball, and so on.

Masterson dodging bullets all night. White sox 2 of 10 RISP. 5 walks 6 hits in 6 innings and only gave up two runs. A little offense and we could steal this one.

We were down 2-0 late in the game the other day and came back ...... Of course, we suck .....so we can't do that ..... (Gotta try that double secret reverse psychology stuff again)

In other news, Damon sure appears to be a flop. I'm "this close" to resigning myself to LaPorta for the rest of the year. .235 is better than .160.

Good job Wheeler. Only gave up one run in one inning. You'll keep your ERA below 10 after all.

That much is definitely true. Loved Kips slide to first, that hit almost squeaked through down the first base line.
Danks has to be pissed at his pen. We really have a good pen for the most part. And I have a mancrush on Hagadone. Dude is money.

I don't see any way that Wheeler keeps his spot the way Hagadone is pitching. The kid's taking a job by force.

I like how it's easy to find an online stream for Pay Per View events than it is for a Cable Network...

Wickman would just put people on to get his blood pressure up a bit. Not let them score.

Unfortunately. Just seems like any closer pitching in a non-save sit. just isn't nearly as good. Not just CP, but he definitely make it noticible.

13runs yesterday, 10runs today
really makes you appreciate what our pitching did to them over the weekend.

Chris Perez career in save situations: .220 BAA, .643 OPS, 2.04 BB/SO. In non-save situations: .191 BAA, .652 OPS, 2.03 BB/SO. No difference

career sure. how about 2011 & 2012. he definitely has been worse.
since he lost his initial superior K/9 rate (dropped to about 6K/9IP in 2011 from 9K/9 before that), he has seemed to struggle in non-save situations. is it purely mental? does he get a bigger adrenaline rush knowing a 'save' is on the line? is the sample size for 2011/2012 just too small? i don't know the answer.
but, here is what we do know for save and non-save situations in 2011: http://www.baseball-reference....
Situation PA SO/BB OPS tOPS ERA HR/9 Save 145 1.79 .570 76 2.75 0.25 Non-Save 104 1.17 .764 135 4.18 1.56
As you can see, this storyline has not developed out of thin air. Perez has less control, allows more hard hits, more runs, etc.

the way Perez has pitched in non-save situations recently that's like predicting Wheeler will give up a run, De Aza will have a good game against us, etc.

Heres hoping Kotchman is starting to hit a bit ..I like LaPorta as much as anyone but I would rather have a 1st baseman with a hole in his swing then 1 with a little hole in his swing but a bigger one in his glove..jmho

Ubaldo trade weekly update: Pomeranz left after 3 innings due to injury from a combacker. 5 hits, 3 ER, 2 SO in 3 innings. Pomeranz got up to bat once and hit his first career homer. he's batting .600 on the year White was called up and threw a quality start going 6.1 IP, 6 hits, 2 ER, 5 SO. Ubaldo played great last start, as has been discussed above, but is still struggling with walks.

So what exactly are you getting at here?
I also predict it will rain in Ohio at least once before Christmas. Book it Danno!

Johnny Cueto might not put up the eye candy with a ton of strikeouts but dude gets it done every start.
Shouldn't take too many more outings like this from Marshall before we see Chapman take over as closer. They've got it backwards right now with the dominant fastball setting up and the curve ball closing. That has to change.

"I knew it was going to be tough. [Cueto] is probably the most underappreciated pitcher since he's been healthy last year," Greinke said. "His numbers are pretty insane, and I don't think I've really heard anyone talk about him being one of the better pitchers in the league. Maybe it's time to start that."

Gomez had a rough outing tonight.
