And last year he went for 4624 yards, and 27 TD, 20 INT.

In 2010, Jackson played only 5 games, with 14 catches. Rivers threw for 4700 yards and 30 TD with 13 INT.

Receivers, obviously, make a difference, but nowhere near the difference that the QB makes on the receivers. The Chargers still have Floyd, and they brought in Meachum from the Saints. They also brought in Eddie Royal from the Broncos. (Those last 2 were guys that a lot of people wanted the Browns to pursue) They also have Danario Alexander, who was a guy with limited chances, but a nice average per catch for the Rams over the past 2 seasons. However, those are just about the only receivers they have right now for some reason. They do have a 5th WR, but he hasn't done much at all, if anything.

Receivers can help a QB, but QBs make or break receivers. Even "without" weapons, Rivers is still on pace for a decent season. Imagine how those same receivers would look if Charlie Whitehurst was forced into starting.

Their third-round draft pick from last year (and big reason they felt they could let Jackson walk) broke his foot in preseason this year. He should come off abbreviated IR in the next week or two.

That explains the lack of 5 real receivers then.

look, we agree QBs make a bigger difference on WRs than vice versa. You just seem to go to extreme ends to make that point

YTown would never go with a "with me or against me" approach.

Weeden is fun to watch. If he continues on this arc we're going to be very very happy with our QB play for years to come.

Concerning Rivers he was never a great thrower of the football. But man he looks much worse this year. It just comes out of his hand wrong, the motion is terrible, it's slow. He might not be a starter for more than a couple more years.

San Diego is primed to implode and the Broncos game (AND THE BROWNS GAME) could be the start of it.

Add Stafford to the "regressed" list.

He looks like he doesn't even like playing football.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

At this point last year Megatron had 9 TD catches.. this year, 1. Something is definitely different... .that whole team has not progressed.

correct, but all of Calvin's other stats (receptions, yards, ypa) are right in line.

on the team, I think the league just adjusted to their offense like GB's. they figured out ways of limiting what they want to do (and ignore the run game). until Detroit proves they can do what they want anyway (like GB the last 2 weeks), then it'll be more of the same.

Broyles saw his first game action last night. My favorite WR that's come out of college in years. His teammates nicknamed him "The Natural".

Man I wish he was here. How good would Weeden be right now with a dead solid, reliable option right now?

Actually, it's at least his third game... just his first catch.

and, surprise!, Burleson got hurt, so Broyles will now be the starting slot WR for the Lions.

we'll get to see what he can do, but his injury killed the Oklahoma offense last year.
