As someone not familiar with the comic, it appears the story is going to go in directions I would have never thought of. Cool stuff.

I read something about this the other day and they basically explained it as the don't have a lot of fat or muscle around their fingers so their fingers are kind of widdled down to the bones which are pretty sharp... which is why some of them can rip flesh? I dunno... not the best explanation

That's basically how it was explained on the Talking Dead by one of the shows producers. He also mentioned that even though the camera didn't show it the zombie spent a little bit of time ripping at ____'s chest before breaking through.

I know for sure that Michonne, the Governor will be two big time characters added this year... which means we'll likely get the governor's gang...

Had to bump my own thread since there was a Walking Dead marathon this weekend on AMC.

After the marathon they did a preview show for the third season.

Man, I can't wait. Michonne and the Governor look to be two huge additions to the cast. I suspect many of the originals will get killed off. I'm wondering what will happen to Rick and how his relationship plays out with the Governor.

I'm not familiar with the comic at all so I'm just speculating on all of this.

No spoilers for those that are familiar!

JC, My son lives near the town of Senoia Georgia where they do alot of the filming. He said they are in production right now and people fight over the right to be a unpaid Zombie. I guess they film Drop Dead Diva there too.
Senoia is just south of Atlanta on old 85 near Peachtree City. Nice little town.

I bought the first season DVD's, and while I wasn't crazy about it, thought I might get the 2nd season. But I can't find it on Ebay so far, except for a "Season 2 pre-release order" at $54.99, which is about $45 more than I spent for Season 1. Guess I'll just wait it until its available used. Until then, its on to the next season of 24.

Nice. I came out as Rick. Natural born leader.

Pretty good start to the second part of season 3. I wasn't crazy about where they were taking Rick's character in that first episode, but after last week, he looked pissed. Get ready to go to war with the Governor!

Dale here.

I am just glad I wasn't one of the many annoying females on the show (Andrea, Lori, Carol).

To you and YTown, I'm not a zombie guy either. Or an apocalypse guy.

And this is one the best shows I've ever watched. It has as much to do with how people are handling the end of the world as the zombies that are occupying it.

I'd say give it a chance. The first season is 6 episodes. Starts off a little slow but it's setting a foundation. By the end of the first season I think you'll be hooked. Season 2 is then really, really good.

I mean the show has an entire 'after show', talk show dedicated to it called The Talking Dead that airs right after each episode. It's got a large following for a reason. Give it shot. I think you'll be hooked.

My young cousin stayed with us for some time over the summer, and he began watching season 1 on Netflix, and so I began watching "The Walking Dead," but I found that after watching season 1, and season 2, I was having some rather adverse reactions.

I noticed that I was having some serious zombie dreams, some serious sniping zombie dreams--and a lot of crazy running from Zombie dreams......and I just can't be having those types of dreams....

Tyler tries not to watch The Walking Dead...............

If he becomes anything like comic book Carl then he becomes much cooler seasons down the road.

Then again time needs to start passing in the show because Carl the actor is starting to outgrow his character.

My wife HATES horror movies, and refuses to watch anything with a zombie in it. That being said, I got her to watch 1 episode and now she never misses it. The show is more about the drama between the people, not the zombies.

I think they need to get out an explore more. If you think the world is full of zombies, then you need to really look at creating a fortress, and find a way to get out and exterminate the zombies, not just sit around a farm and fight amongst each other all the time.

This ^

I just started watching the show in the break between season 3 parts. I had some slow time at work over X Mas break so I basically watched seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix at work over that time. I really like the show BUT there are some things that bother me. Now keep in mind I didn't even know this was a comic book series until I read this thread.

Ok, most of the worlds population is dead or zombies. There are HUGE stockpiles of non perishable foods in this country. Huge warehouses and hell even grocery stores. Last time I checked zombies don't know how to use can openers. So food should not be an issue.

Also, there are HUGE stockpile of ammunitions in this country. So guns and ammo should not be an issue, yet these people are running out of ammo? So going on that, remember when Merle was up on the roof popping zombies? Wouldn't it make sense to take a high position where the zombies cant get to you, get thousands and thousands of rounds of ammo and start eliminating them? I realize it would take a long time, but there are other groups out there, but these people sit their and watch herds of zombies walking around. I would spend my days with a M50 from a high spot thinning the herds. Its not like they are reproducing.

With all these vehicles around, why do these people get in old trucks and RVs? Hell when they were at CDC there were fully equipped Hummers, tanks, and armored personal carriers, yet they walked away from them and all the ammo that would be stored in them?

In the new season, the whole Rick getting crazy and going into all these strange vision sequences is kind of lame.

Ok now for some good.

Daryl is just cool as hell and I love the vintage Triumph chopper.

Something about Andrea is yummy

Nothing like a loud motorcycle with a tiny gas tank when you are trying not to attract zombies.

It bothers me when they let a single walker pass. You have to take every easy kill you can get.

JC ...

Here's one thing I don't understand about the show.

If the zombies pretty much destroy everything in their path, how did the world get full of zombies to begin with? So you die, then you become a zombie if there is anything left of you. But the zombies don't just kill you ... they eat you until there is nothing left.

So how did the world become predominantly zombies?

I think before there was a shortage of edible humans they only ate the good parts - it was just proper zombie etiquette. Then, as there became less and less available humans, more and more zombies got hungrier and hungrier. Now they hunt in huge packs and eat everything but the bones. In the apocalypse, even zombie civilization breaks down, and they forget their manners.

That's my theory.

Yeah, it really isn't practical, but vintage British choppers are something I am into.

There would just be so much stuff out there that's not being used because the majority of people are now zombies. Hell, I would go get me a gasoline tanker, a load of bricks, or cinder blocks, anything you could want its there, and the zombies aren't using it.

I guess I should enjoy the show, an stop over thinking things, but damn, the whole premise is kind of stupid.

Thats why she didnt kill him!

I have a feeling that the writers are going to make her regret not killing him.

Andrea was never a loyal character. She turned her back on Michon - the person who saved her life - and now the original group. Her character has always kind of been out for herself in subtle ways. She was just told by Michon and Rick that the Governor has been lying to her, but she don't want to give up that warm bed.

I think it sucks that Tyrese and the other group appear to be latching onto the Governor but something tells me Tyrese is going to figure out the Governor in a crucial situation. He seems too smart.

I am kind of agreeing, this season has been a let down so far. Even last night was anti climatic.

I thought their should have been a steamy love scene and right at that peak moment she slices his throat.

Wait did I say that, and say anti climatic in the same post?? LOL
