Great story on Caleb Lloyd.

An interesting and somewhat funny sidenote; Leake's HR ball was measured at something like 360 and Cozart's was measured at aprox. 380.... yet were caught by the same dude and he didn't move.

I think they might also project how far it would have gone sometimes.

Giancarlo Stanton's home run against Jamie Moyer the other night would have gone infinity feet if a scoreboard hadn't gotten in the way.

...Stanton's homer was still rising when it hit that scoreboard. I think it would have landed near Cuba.

I saw him interviewed, nice guy.

The Reds have been fun to watch as of late, just hope they don't have to keep relying on the long ball to score, you can't count on that consistently.

Let's go TRIBE! I'm loving it. Hopefully people will start paying more attention. I swear ESPN radio's sportcenter won't mention this series at all unless Verlander gets Detroit a win. My cousin in Euclid says even local radio up there is talking more about the Browns QB situation.

I gotta get up there and represent for a game or 2 this season. Only made it to 1 last season.

Already going to Tigers/Reds on June 8th, so I can root against Detroit . . .

they'll mention this series only if Verlander throws a shutout or we put up 8runs on Verlander.

hey, why not hope for the latter?

Great game tonight, the attendance seemed good (22k if I remember correctly, which would put us at about 20th in attendance overall if we averaged that). The game was tons of fun and the crowd was making noise. People are starting to show up, especially with summer starting and the Tribe doing well. If we could start hitting and get some big wins, I think we could see 30k+ fill the stands pretty soon.

On an unrelated note, I hate the MLB schedule. It seems like every time I go to a game, it's either the Tigers or Twins. I wish they'd dial down the division games a teeny tiny bit and add in a few extra series against teams we don't normally see.

I have Mike and Mike on every morning on for the ride into work, and honestly, I think it's been at least a week since i've even heard a score for a tribe game. It's such a low class organization anymore. Them making up quotes from players on attendance was just laughable. IMO, they have the just about the same amount of creditability as TMZ.

Best I could tell from the TV, that was a good 22k too. Loud as all get out.

Yep, still no mention of the Tribe as Greeny read out scores. Just wait and see if that changes w/ a Tigers win.

Oh well. Why should we care?

Well, they don't talk much early season baseball with the NHL and NBA playoffs going on, the NFL talking mandatory pads and lawsuits and then you have the Greeny in Dancing with the Stars BS. I don't think I've heard much baseball much anywhere (First Take, Sportsnation, PTI, Highly Questionable, etc.).

And, Golic is a Tribe fan. When the NHL and NBA are over, he'll start talking more about them.

I do know, the crew on Baseball Tonight have been calling them the Windians. So, they know and they're giving them their due attention.

As far as this season is concerned, I'm a believer, whatever that means. If you define that as believing they have a shot at the division, I'd believe even if they were .500 at this point. This division doesn't look like it will be all that strong, so anyone can bubble up to take it (Indians, White Sox or Tigers).

25-18 isn't the 30-15 start from last year......but it's very good. I'll take it with a smile. All you can really hope for is that our team be relevant for most of the season. I can't stand the seasons where the team is 15 games back in June. Give me a team in contention all season and I'll be happy. It's something to watch, follow and talk about.

As for what our chances are in the postseason, pfffttt......let's get there first. The Cards taught everyone a good lesson last year, just get in.

exactly. if we do get in, then it'll be because our SPs came through, our bullpen was solid, and we got good hitting out of the top of our lineup (at least).

so, in the playoffs, who knows what can happen if Masterson/Ubaldo/Lowe get hot

for now, i'm going to enjoy the series win (at least) and hopefully sweep ( )

Went to last night's game. Great game... great time. It looked like there was a fairly brisk walk-up business last night. Progressive wasn't full, but there were more fans than the previous three games I've attended and they got pretty loud when things got exciting.

I tell you... these guys play hard. There is no quit in them at all. It is a fun team to watch. Cabrerra and Kipnis are really playing well right now and, IMO, are worth the price of admission on their own.

Indians as good as overrated Tigers
Quote:

OK, I'll give you Justin Verlander.

I'll even give you Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder and Austin Jackson.

But five through 25? I think I'll take the Cleveland Indians over the Detroit Tigers.

The good way pushed the Indians to 24-18. The Tigers are 20-22, and for the life of me I can't understand why everyone still thinks Detroit is the better team. Mind you, I'm not saying the Indians are better. I just don't see why the Tigers are better. Just because everyone picked them before the season?

I get that, my point was even when they just read through the scores. Like

Yanks 4, Sox 2
Phils 3, Braves 0... etc

You wouldn't think the team even plays.

why did he include Austin Jackson?

if Detroit's top 4 are:

Verlander
Miggy
Prince
Austin Jackson

and Cleveland's top 4 are:

Masterson? (should we say Lowe?)
Asdrubel
Santana
Kipnis

I'll take Kipnis over Austin Jackson. I love Austin's defensive capabilities in the OF (well, technically hate and respect), but still.

Lou Marson 1) singles off Verlander AND 2) steals second base

What the holy hand grenades is going on here?!?

If Johnny Damon goes yard, i'm going to seriously question what I drank last night.

Verlander's throwing 100+ consistently in the 8th. May as well just swing hard in case you hit it, cause your not going to string anything together. wow.

Edit: Three pitch sequence to Acab - 100mph, 102mph, 83mph. Sick.

And we beat Verlander in the 3rd game!

And Perez gets a save in every game.

I like games where we can win .... and we're the only game going on.

Nothing like forcing those chasing you to try and win just to maintain their deficit.

That means the left 30 men on base in the series. What a job by the pitching staff.
