don't forget that if the Cavs don't get the #1 overall pick tonight, then we want the Kings to get it (to boost their odds of giving us their 1st rounder next year)

move team to largest market in USA - check sell team to eccentric billionaire owner - check minority owner be one of most respected entertainers by your athletes - check have some decent young talent and willingness to infuse with veterans like Gerald Wallace - check acquire #1 overall pick in one of best recent drafts - possible tonight but, even if they get Anthony Davis to go along with everything else, then that's just not enough for Deron Williams (who also drove Jerry Sloan to his first retirement) http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--nets-need-more-than-anthony-davis-to-hold-onto-deron-williams.html

and here's the thing. his play has completely fallen off the map the last 2 years. he's given a blanket statement of "oh, that's okay, he's just upset he has to play for NJ." as if that makes it okay???
Vince Carter was ruthlessly shredded in the media for quitting on Toronto and rightfully so. Where is that derision for Deron?

Err... it sort of is. We needed one of the three best players, and the fourth best is a power forward.

While he may just be ... most mocks I've seen have him anywhere from 7th to 14th. Most mocks seem to have Robinson 4th, and a few even have him going higher. I think Washington would be the best bet at #3, but they probably could use a SG too.

I don't get it. Robinson is a great college player but he sucks ass if you match him up against any decent size.

Charlotte Bobcats Depth Chart: PG: D.J. Augustin, Kemba Walker, Cory Higgins SG: Gerald Henderson, Matt Carroll SF: Derrick Brown, Reggie Williams, Corey Maggette, Jamario Moon PF: D.J. White, Tyrus Thomas, Eduardo Najera C: Bismack Biyombo, Byron Mullens, DeSagana Diop
Washington Wizards Depth Chart: PG: John Wall, Shelvin Mack SG: Jordan Crawford, Roger Mason, Maurice Evans SF: Chris Singleton, Jan Vesely, Cartier Martin, Rashard Lewis PF: Trevor Booker, Andray Blatche, Brian Cook C: Nene, Kevin Seraphin
I'd say Charlotte still goes MKG and Washington goes Beal, with an outside chance of Robinson.

Conspiracy theory... So you lose a big name free agent you get the number 1 pick... We lose LeBron, get Kyrie, New Orleans loses Paul, they get Davis... Calling it now...Orlando loses Howard, #1 pick 2013

i'm good with Lamb or Barnes (remarkably similar profiles albeit at different positions).
i'm expecting Drummond or PJIII (FO history of going after the athletic freak if there is not a slam dunk obvious BPA)

So the team that was recently owned by the league wins the lottery.
Interesting.
I wonder how much extra Tom Benson paid to get Anthony Davis.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Don't think the team around him as anything to do wit that? I know ESPN did an article last yr I believe on the FG% his team shoots on an AST from him. It was abysmal. DWill is still a top 3 PG IMO.

My top11 mock. I'll try to add the rest of the lottery later on:
1. NO Hornets – Anthony Davis and no, they are not trading the pick. 2. Charlotte Bobcats Option1: MKG – they need a SF and he is clearly the best SF. Even Jordan’s UNC affinity won’t be enough to draft Barnes over him. Option2: T.Robinson – they have a dire need for a frontcourt scorer as well. If Robinson wasn’t 21 and there weren’t fears about him being able to do his thing against stronger (literal strength) competition, then he might be the pick. But, he won’t. 3. Washington Wizards – they have Crawford at SG. Hmmm. Option1: ?? T.Robinson – see below. Option2: Beal is the 3rd guy on the prospect list, but Crawford was decent at SG and they have so many dire needs. Tough to see them taking Drummond with having Nene locked in (can’t really pair them together). PJIII could be an option too. Really, T.Robinson as an athletic fast-break PF who can play some defense, might be their best option if they go for team fit slightly over BPA. 4. Cleveland Cavaliers Option1: Bradley Beal – whoo hoo. I’d prefer Davis/MKG, but I’ll take the consolation prize. He and Irving would be a dynamic scoring backcourt. Option2: Jeremy Lamb – better height than Beal, better outside shot than Beal, also a stat-stuffer. He’s scary thin and needs to add bulk to be able to play real defense in the NBA. Like Beal, would be nice backcourt combo with Irving. Option3: Drummond/PJIII – if our FO goes pure upside, then I guess I could see one of these guys. Can’t play TT and Drummond at the end of games together unless TT proves his gains on FTs are real. PJIII could be good-Odom or bad-Odom or (more likely) both. Option4: Trade w/ Portland?? I would jump at a trade for #6 + #11 for #4 if Davis/MKG/Beal go in the top3. Maybe Portland falls in love with Drummond and wants to try again to fix that spot? Probably not though as they are going through a near-complete rebuild (Batum, Aldridge being the only “safe” guys). 5. Sacramento Kings Option1: PJIII – I know most are thinking about pairing Drummond w/ Cousins, but I think the Kings look to the SF spot with PJIII. This allows them to stay extremely athletic and fast-paced, which is how their team is built (and moves Tyreke back to SG if they keep him). Option2: Drummond – that would be a lot of size. Slows them down though and they’d probably want to swap out Tyreke for a halfcourt wing. Option3: Barnes – again, they don’t want Tyreke at SF and Barnes has talent. 6. Portland Trailblazers Option1: A.Drummond – They do need a center (not a great history for them at that spot though) Option2: J.Lamb – he is exactly the type of guy they go after. He fits in beautifully with Batum and Aldridge and they haven’t minded in the past of having to develop a guy. Of course, with another new GM that could all change. Option3: K.Marshall – they need a PG of the future to go with their corps and he would fit well. 7. Golden State Warriors Option1: H.Barnes – they have to like the value of getting a scorer at this slot. Option2: PJIII – he just screams Golden State, no? 8. Toronto Raptors Option1: K.Marshall – Calderon is in his last year and they would like to groom his successor. With Jonas coming, plenty of bigs. Option2: H.Barnes – he’s slipping here and a good value. Goes well with their corps too (including DeRozan at the other wing). 9. Detroit Pistons Option1: Any of the SFs above if they drop (Barnes, PJIII). Obviously, this setup doesn’t look like that will happen. Option2: J.Henson – I like Zeller more, but Henson makes more sense next to Monroe Option3: T.Ross – it would be considered a reach, but I think he is really, really good and a worthy top10 pick. 10. New Orleans Hornets Option1: Tyler Zeller – gives them a legit C to replace Kaman. Option2: J.Sullinger – this might be where teams start to consider his scoring a possible asset as a PF. 11. Portland Trailblazers Option1: Damian Lillard – 2 lottery picks and they get a C and a PG (they have a PF and SF at least already). Sounds like a good start though both may need some growth. Option2: T.Ross Option3: A.Rivers

I'm not too thrilled about Bradley Beal being on the smallish size. Drummond could give the Cavs some much need size and athletism in the paint. On side note did anyone see that pathetic pic of Nick Gilbert's son on the front of the PD? He has no reason to look that sad. Yeah yeah we get you were the darling of the Cavs Draft Lottery in 2011 with the ultra hip geek nerd look and your stupid catch phrase. The Draft Lottery isn't about you and your get up.

I've been looking over a TON of mock drafts online and I've seen maybe one that didn't have either MKG or Beal slipping to us at #4. It seems everyone is pretty high on Robinson, as he's been going either #2 or #3 in most mocks I've seen.
Seems everyone here likes J.Lamb, but most mocks I've seen have him going anywhere from #7 to #15th. Might be a good option if we were to trade down with someone like Portland?
And as I've mentioned before, I'd entertain the thought of drafting Drummond, but I wouldn't want to draft PJ3. I'd much rather take a risky gamble on a potentially dominating big man, rather than a potentially dominating wing.
Hopefully we'll be okay, and Charlotte or Washington takes Robinson.

on Jeremy Lamb - I would love to trade down with Portland (#4+#24 for #6+#11). However, if that is not an option, sometimes you have to just go with who you feel is best and not worry about the "rankings" See OKC with Westbrook (#4 overall) and Harden (#6 overall)

also, important note: I don't want Drummond or PJIII at the #4 overall pick (I'd consider both at #11 if we did trade down). But, those options were how I think the Cavs FO will look at that pick (I'd take Barnes before either of those 2 guys)
